Considering 5,943 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the staff for being informative, entertaining, and knowledgeable about Scottish history, culture, and local areas, often enhancing the journey with well-suited music and engaging stories. A few other people also felt that some guides were not engaging, focusing on personal anecdotes rather than relevant information, and not stopping at promised locations.

I booked the Outlander Day Tour because I wanted a unique experience while visiting filming locations from my favourite tv-series.

I booked the Outlander Day Tour because I wanted to visit certain historic locations that had been used as filming locations for Outlander. I thought (maybe I misunderstood / misread the info on the website) that the driver of the mini bus would also be our guide and as thus would walk around with us, giving us extra information or tell us interesting tidbits about Outlander and/or the historic sites.
Unfortunately our driver hadn’t even watched Outlander nor read the books, so we were left to wander each site on our own.
So it didn’t feel like a tour but a pick up / drop off kind of experience.
Though I loved every site, listened to the audio guides and read the information boards, I would have been off cheaper renting a car for the day instead of buying tickets for a guided tour that wasn’t guided.
Update 16/07: thank you Rabbie’s for the reply. And when visiting Scotland next time I will probably give Rabbie’s a 2nd try.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

I'm sorry to hear that the guiding didn't meet your expectations on your Outlander tour.

Whether they have seen the show or not, our driver-guides should provide some commentary and storytelling on the different sites visited and tell you the real history behind the Outlander filming locations.

However, they won't always necessary come with you to walk around all the sites. The information should either be shared on the bus during the drive or when you are being dropped off at the different locations. For example, at Doune Castle, our driver-guides should give you some insights on the castle, but they won't offer a full guided tour of the castle.

However, it seems like you didn't necessarily get that much commentary either and we'll be raising it to our operations team so we can discuss it with the driver-guide.

I'm sorry that the tour was different from your expectation, and we are taking your feedback on board to improve how we describe our tours on our website, but also how we operate this tour.

Hopefully, we'll still have the chance to welcome you on tour again and offer you an experience that matches your experience.

All the best,
Camille

Whiskey Tour

We had a great time on our whiskey tour with Rabbies! Steve did a great job of balancing sharing information and history, fun music, and just giving us time to talk to each other throughout the trip.

Rabbie's provides a great tour experience

Rabbie's was recommended to us by family and friends and Rabbie's did not disappoint. This was our first of two 1 day tours with them. Sterling Castle and Loch Lomand were great experiences. I definitely recommend the boat ride. Nick was a great tour guide providing information about the history of the Castle and area, but also fun facts along the drive.

Duncan is the best guide

Duncan is the best guide! His storytelling and humor is engaging and brought me so much laughter. I learned a ton about local history and geology. Wish the accommodation option was better. Otherwise perfect trip.

Pretty good tour of Northern Ireland

Pretty good tour of Northern Ireland, but not really a Game of Thrones tour! Only got to see a couple of places from a distance. On the other hand, Karl was a very entertaining driver.

Hi Fernando,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

You are mentioning a Northern Ireland Game of Thrones tour. This sounds fun for the series fan. However, I can see that you took a 3-day Isle of Skye tour with Rabbie's, which personally, is more up my street having never seen Game of Thrones.

I'm sure this is just a wee mix up and that review was meant for another company, it's easy to get tangled with these post tour reviews.

Hopefully, you enjoyed your Rabbie's tour to Isle of Skye and have seen beautiful scenery during the whole tour.

If there's anything you'd like to share about that tour, don't hesitate to reach out directly to feedback@rabbies.com

All the best,
Camille

Hello Jolanta,

Thank you for this kind review.

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your time on tour with us and that it was mostly thanks to Alan, your driver-guide. It seems that you learned a lot of interesting information about Scottish history on this tour, and I'm sure Alan made it even more interesting.

I hope you enjoyed Dunnottar Castle, it's one of the most stunning places in Scotland in my opinion.

Hopefully, we'll catch you on tour again in the future to offer you another great experience.

All the best,
Camille
