I recently worked with Gulam Khamboo to specify and purchase a 4K projector for a specialist 360° immersive video installation. Gulam was brilliant from start to finish. He had excellent knowledge of the technical aspects of the lens and projector. He was a brilliant communicator, responding quickly to questions and keeping me updated throughout the process. He even arranged a back-up demo projector in case delivery was delayed, but delivery times were so quick we didn't need it. There are proper retailers and there are mere boxshifters. Projector Point are proper retailers. I was considering buying an Optoma ZH400 laser projector and had one or two questions pre purchase. These were answered promptly and efficiently. I was reassured enough to place my order and it arrived the next day. Which is pretty good considering PP are in Middlesex and I am in Plymouth. There was a small problem regarding a plug and socket mismatch which was obviously the manufacturer's fault but it was sorted by Projector Point immediately and a replacement arrived at midday the following day. Excellent packaging, documentation, price and service. Five out of five stars.

As for the projector: Brilliant too. Bright, sharp and smart. It’s a replacement for an elderly Optoma DLP lamp driven portable whose DLP chip had now twice gone speckly with dead pixels and was classed as obsolete so no spare was available (what a waste) so it is a bit of a step up. It does make me think that the much vaunted laser lamp life is going to well exceed the DLP chip life.

All in all an extremely happy customer.

Excellent service from start to finish. Placed the order online and was contacted by Wasi Alam who took the time to go through the order and confirm that everything I'd ordered met my actual requirements. Helpfully he got me to double check that the projector screen I'd chosen would fit in the room. (Sizes quoted on website are the size of the white screen area) actual case length is longer. Turns out the one I'd selected would still fit in the room. The order was delivered the next day. Highly recommend Projectorpoint. Thanks :-)

Good ordering experience. A very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable sales person confirmed in detail (and with follow-up email) that I understood the order and that the projector screen would be suitable for my setup before despatching, and guaranteed delivery the next day as needed. At a very reasonable price, including an extra 5 year warranty not normally included with orders placed elsewhere for the same product.

I am later updating my review here to reflect excellent customer service to resolve a delivery issue (an initial failure to deliver due to a fault with my doorbell). Having realised that a delivery had been attempted earlier, I emailed the Projectorpoint customer service contact at 6pm to request an early redelivery. This resulted in a telephone call to me early the next morning to arrange a redelivery later in the day, at no extra charge, keeping me fully updated with progress on the arrangements in further telephone calls and emails. I consider that this was a model response and great customer service.

Initially I received expert unhurried technical advice on possible choices for a projector to suit an exhibition's video theatre. Projectorpoint's price for the most suitable machine matched Amazon's, so I purchased from Projectorpoint, knowing that their after-sales care is excellent. The projector was delivered in less than 24 hours, and came with an unexpected bonus - a high quality HDMI cable, in addition to the one supplied as standard by Epson. The goods arrived well packaged and undamaged, and worked perfectly straight out of the box. In my experience, with several past purchases from Projectorpoint, you can buy with confidence in their competent service, before and after sales.

Beacon Camera Club wanted a new 4K projector and because we are a camera club, we are very picky about image quality: this needed to be of the best to fit our needs and budget. We are not given to delivering false praise: we are very used to highly critical opinions of the images produced by our members and this breeds in the club a culture of fair but firm in a kindly way. This is mentioned because what follows here is not a review based upon favour: it is a heartfelt exposition of truth. A phone call to Projectorpoint was picked up by Gulam Khamboo and a long conversation ensued wherein we offered our needs, concerns and confusions. Due to our prior research, we had almost settled upon a particular NEC device which appeared to suit our needs in terms of the mix of resolution, brightness and cost and at the end of our discussion we opted to purchase that box of tricks. Our minds were eased in doing this due to Projectorpoint’s money-back guarantee (with a proviso of no more than an hour or so on the projector’s ‘clock’).
We paid up, and the 4k NEC DLP device arrived the following day. Several interested and technically qualified club members gathered to view the image output. It did not take very long for the decision to be a ‘no’! Whilst the moving image capability of the machine was acceptable, static images were quite sub-standard, showing a lack of sharpness and a large amount of colour fringing (i.e. chromatic aberration, either lens-based, or RGB registration at the imaging device). A call to Gulam was met with interest and suggestions of other machines. We had decided – due to our experience with the NEC box - that DLP wasn’t going to do it for us, leaving us to choose from a very narrow field of maybe 2 or three more acceptable (albeit more expensive) machines which use LCD-type imaging devices. Gulam was understanding and very obviously keen to make sure that we got what we wanted: after our conversation ended to give us time to think about things, he called back to say that he had procured a loan unit of a Sony VPL XW5000 device, which is based upon an LCD imaging device. This was shipped to us and was subjected to the same scrutiny as with the NEC machine. The difference was astonishing, both in image quality out of the box and in the setting-up facilities which allowed tuning of RGB convergence at more than 100 points around the screen. After such adjustment, the image quality can be said to be better than anything we had ever seen in any camera club! Sold!
In summary, we ended up spending more money than first planned but the extra, necessary quality made this more than worthwhile. It is fair to say that we would not have achieved our goal without the patience, tolerance and 'beyond the call of duty' attitude of Gulam at Projectorpoint. Our club owes a big ‘thank you’ to him and his company for their assistance in our quest.

The support I got from PROJECTORPOINT couldn't be better, even if they tried. Professional, quick, reliable, knowledgable. No nonsense and really listening carefully to your needs – not just flogging over-priced and unnecessary equipment at you. Besides that you really felt that they know what they are talking about.

If you like to waste your time on hold listening to endless music with an automated voice telling you that your call is important, then you will be greatly disappointed. This companies products and customer service are exceptional. You actually speak to a person who is both knowledgeable and extremely helpful. First, there was someone to help on the end of the telephone line. Second, it was about 4 pm ordrered and delivered the next day. Third, when set up the projector and screen gave a good display. The NEC ME403U had all the connections necessary to pair successfully with an 8 year old macbook
