I think this is actually not a bank

I think this is actually not a bank, it's a punishment: unfriendly and incompetent where one of the two would be bad enough. My poor old mum waited for half an hour in their (dis)service hotline only to be put on hold again for another half hour without them helping her in any way, shape or form. It really was as bad as this sounds.

Absolute worst nightmare bank to deal…

Absolute worst nightmare bank to deal with
even one star is too much. Had a joint account with my sister, so after two years they decided they can save money and not send any mail /statements to me in Au just to my sister in Germany. Then my sister did not sign their new contract so she got all her accounts cancelled, she took her share of the money out of our joint account and we thought that was it but with out being told or informed in writing the account was now blocked after she got her money. My card does not work, I cannot make any transfers, No money at all since month. I ring up and when I got through I was told there is nothing wrong and I should be able to access my money. No information on the phone or in the mail that the account is blocked and why not to forget that every time I made another attempt on a transfer I was charged a fee for the cancelation. Ok after two month of this I had enough and opened a new account with the DKB, and tried to transfer my money and close the account but had to find out that I cannot do that without my sisters signature as she had every thing cancelled but she is still account holder with me. So we fill in the form and send it in with Einschreiben as nobody at the postbank was "allowed to take the form". ok so three weeks later nothing happened I ring up again from Au and was told that they have never received any forms to close the account and we must have send it to the wrong address ( which by the way was given to my sister in the postbank). after ringing again somebody told me to send a Kontakt Formular and to ask why I cannot get to my money. Rang again as it is not easy to find this bloody Formular and was told now that I can email them a request to close the account via e-mail. We talking 68 000,00 Euro here, I could have extended my business here or could have payed my house of or bought an investment property as this is going on since 7 month. I don't think anymore that it has anything to do with forms or cancelations or what so ever I think they just don't want to lose that money. Stay right away from that mob the way they treat there customers is criminal.

The worst bank ever - Avoid!

EN:
Truly the worst bank ever! Avoid at any cost.

It is absolutely inconceivable how this institution is not bankrupt from their services and how they tread their customers.
I was left abroad without money due to Postbank credit card malfunction without any explanation from the bank. The credit card was just not accepted anywhere, showing a message "rejected by bank". 0 support or any information, why is this happening.
After the escalation, they said everything is all right on our side, sir.
Good for you Postbank, but it was NOT all right on my side and I am your customer!
Well, soon not anymore nor none of my family members.

DE:

German efficiency, like the Yeti or Bigfoot: has anyone ever actually seen it?!

If there is anything guaranteed with pretty much any service in Germany, it's that you will have a terrible experience. Germans know as much about user-friendly customer experiene as a rhino does about reciting Shakespeare. The Postbank, in all fairness, is not the worst by any measure. With the Sparkasse, for example, you can't use your card from an account opened in, say, Berlin, in another city. Like all things German, it's absurd. How on earth is Germany a world-class economy? As for the Postbank, its apps are utter crap (in visual design, in their UX and in functionality). The in-site staff is great for teaching you patience: there's a line reaching across the block, and the plentiful staff just pastorally paces back and forth, as if searching for butterflies, completely oblivious to their terrible level of service or the unnecessary stress they cause their clients. Oh, and did I mention their PostIdent identification system? Tried that app on 4 devices, over a week, with 3 different routers: the connection always broke, the staff was mostly very unfriendly and could barely speak either German or English. My suggestion: Postbank (and DB, and every other German company) should search the forest of Congo for gorillas. They would easily do a better job, from costumer service all the way up to management. This is me putting it nicely. You would not want to hear what I've heard other people say about you guys when I'm in line. Try working like this anywhere else in Europe and see how long you last before going bankrupt.

Waste of time

We signed a loan contract in postbank and everything looked OK and there were no things to worry according to the manager. I already had the car in mind which I wanted to purchase, but 1 week later the rejection came without any explanation. We spent 2 hours talking to the manager, payed 3 euro for parking, and there was no positive result after all. My latest shufa rating is 97% (maybe was after this rejection) and my income is more than sufficient to pay this loan back.

An Absolute archaic bank

worst bank ever

I am student and want to open an account there and when I was done they told me you should get your PIN code and card in a week now it is 15 days and no news. also I am an English speaker and when I went there solve the problem, an employee told me she can not speak English and of course it was ok but then she did not allow me to talk to someone else who could speak English and when I finally found someone she started to talk about me to her colleagues and was saying that if I can not speak Deutsch I should not be in this country.
I send them 4 emails explaining my problem and all I get in return was automatic answers which were not really answers!

Worst customer service, worst online banking and worst overall bank I have ever experienced in my life. The on-site staff doesn't know anything about the banking system and their telephone "tech" service is as ignorant as their on-site staff. Glad to close my account. Sadly, I'm only a number and won't change anything. And Racist spacial in bad Vilbel

First of all it took over a month to…

First of all it took over a month to get my business account fully active because of their unnecessary outdated security protocol by sending bank cards and logins to me every 3 days.
Secondly the bank clerks did not even know how to transfer funds using the online method but suggested I transfer funds using clerks in the post office like in the year 2000 when online banking was an advanced technology.
Thirdly good luck if you do not speak any German. Customer service hung up on me after saying she doesn't speak English.
Forth. The mobile app is in ONLY German.

Can't help but feeling like my race is the reason of the bad service.

I am Hong Kong student who recently arrived in Berlin for only about a month. Just today (01.10.2021 4pm), I went to the Spandau Arcaden's PostBank to pick up a package from my friend. I've had one of the most uncomfortable experiences in this city.
I started off with "Entschuldigung, mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut", but I before I can finish, the impolite worker had already cut me off. I did not understand fully what he said, but I do know he *refuse* to speak English, not that he couldn't, but he refused to. Because I'm in his territory and whatnot. He didn't require any help from his co-workers and continued to put me on the spot. I gave him my address and my passport, turns out that the receiver's name does not match my passport (Marco Sin is written on the package instead of (My Chinese Birth Name) Sin) Refused to deliver the package to me after I have proven my name (Germany's policy is differ to what I'm used to I know)
With his already bad enough attitude and tone, he did not explain the situation to me with a single drop of politeness. He continued to put me on the spot once again.
Then I expressed that the fact that I do not understand what he was saying. He tried to kick me out of the store. Then finally. The worker from the next counter finally decided to help me with the situation. He then explained the situation relatively nicer than the rude one who I assume is the manager or at least someone with a slightly higher rank than the normal workers.
If he explained the situation to me a bit nicer, I would've left happily after 5 minutes, but instead. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable.
I do not like to pull race into these sort of things, because I never thought it's gonna be necessary. But this is the first time I felt like I'm dealing with actual racism. (or he's just being really rude from the start for no reason :))
I wish this would be dealt with seriously.
And PostBank requires you to make an account (which doesn't work anyway) in order to file a complaint to them. Which doesn't seems to work either. Great Service!

Impressively rude

My first sentence was: "Hello. Is it possible to speak in English?"
The reply (in English) was that they don't provide services to foreign-speakers and she just hung up the phone. No decency to even say 'have a good day'.
A great way to tick off such a bank from the list.

Postbank is the worst bank in Germany I…

Postbank is the worst bank in Germany I experienced. I strongly suggest you don't need to choose Postbank as your bank in Germany.

The reasons:
1. I opened a Postbank on 21th May in 2021, during that appointment, a guy is asking me if I want to open a credit card, I said yes. I asked if there is an annual fee, he said, no. ok, good, open a credit card for me along with a Postbank Debit card.
a couple of weeks later, firstly I received the Debit card. one week later, I received a Credit card. Good.
but one week later, I received a second Postbank credit card. To me, this is very strange, also, Credit card number is the same as the first one.
so, I went to the Postbank office and asked what's going on. they told me, they made mistake and send two credit cards. Ok. that guy cut the credit card in front of me. said, now it is ok.

One week later, I found I don't need this Postbank credit card because my other bank credit card is enough to meet my requirements. so, I went to the Postbank, asked them to cancel the Postbank credit card. they did. and also gave me the cancelation proof.

now, a problem is coming. two months later, I received a bill from the Postbank. it asked to pay an annual fee. this completed shocked me. because they told me no annual fee, also, I have canceled the Postbank credit card. Why I should pay this annual fee.

so, I went to the Postbank office nearby my home. they told me there is an open credit card in their system which is under my Postbank account. what's the hell happening on Postbank workers? so stupid.
they asked me I should go to the Postbank office where I opened my Credit card, and check what's going on.

ok, one day later, I went to the original Postbank office, asked what's going on.

I will never forget that day when I met that Postbank clerk. it is he, he is a little bit fat with bareheaded. He is not German, maybe from Turkey or the middle east.

when he first saw the bill in my hand, he spoke very loudly and very unfriendly, said, yes, it is a credit card fee. Because you opened a credit card before, then you canceled it. now you should pay this fee. are you joking? then I spoke loudly. suddenly, he asked me to go away, and he cannot serve me. I really cannot forget his face and his voice. I really want to beat him.
this is the most terrible man I met in Germany.

then there is a German lady, came to me, and asked if I need help. I said, thanks yes. she asked another Postbank clerk, it is she, and she is german. under this hot-hearted lady's help. I canceled that credit card again(canceled before) and debit card both.
I told them, I will never choose Postbank, also will suggest to everyone I meet, and my friend and my family, colleagues, don't choose Postbank if you have any choice.

once again, terrible Postbank clerk man, I will never forget you.

2, it is about Postbank BHW, I don't want to go into detail, just suggest everyone, don't choose BHW, especially Postbank BHW.

here is the postbank office address where I met that terrible man with middle-east face:

Horrible experience.

I literally didn't want to give this star as well. I struggled and wasted my time with this bank for FIVE MONTHS!! and did not get my account opened. There is a huge lack of communication within the organisation. and staff is not trained at all from branch to head office. The online call service agents are extremely rude and totally disinterested. The head office kept sending me to branch for documents every month and branch people take everything and say its done and after a month i received letter from head office asking for "MISSING" documents (which i submitted) and this circus kept continued for five months. Now I am not receiving any replies and updates from the bank about the account. I have never seen such horrible customer service anywhere in the world. NOT RECOMMENDED.
