Petsafe Big Cat Door
We purchased the Petsafe Big Cat Door to keep our pups from going into the basement where the litter box is. This product has been a HUGE disappointment! It is extremely difficult to install. It is nearly impossible to secure the product to a door without 3 people to assist. I would have returned it, but we had already cut the hole in our door. I would definitely not recommend this product.

I use the 600m dog training collar for one of my dogs. It’s truly one of the best investments I’ve ever made (for one of my pets). Approximately a year after owning my collar I ran into into a small issue. I wasn’t sure what my options were so I decided to use the website chat option to discuss it. I have to say I was blown away at the professionalism and customer service. I will be a loyal customer for life and never hesitate to recommend.

I tried about 6 times to speak with someone, either in a department meeting or holding for more than 25 minutes.
Item out of warranty and need to wait for item to be shipped and pass through customs and with significant delay.
I’ve bought 2 Treat and Train machines and both have needed replacement remote controls - not a great design.
Decided to buy replacement from UK supplier but they came back after 3 weeks to say item out of stock and refund will take another 10 days. In between bought a 3rd machine as needed a working device.
Called back customer care and another few calls and wasted time and item is in stock but only for customers and not for retailers - need to pay extra for shipping and wait for delivery!
So I have paid £146 for a remote control for an item that needs you to stuff paper under the batteries to stop them losing connection and where you are won’t surprised the remote breaks.
If you are supplying the UK make sure spare parts are readily available or at least easy to order without wasted calls.

So apparently they monitor reviews and remove any kind if negative ones. Good to know! I think I'll be shopping around for a different litter box since finding refills is impossible local with 3 weeks out on amazon before shipment. I'll go back to one that takes standard litter. At least then I'm not scrambling to find the refill trays, and my honest reviews actually are put out there. Love how petsafe doesn't want people to know how difficult it is to find new trays or the crystal refills..... Let's also add the fact that the trays cost about half of what initially purchasing the litter box costs. I wonder how many people would ACTUALLY buy their litter box if they knew the price tag for the refills in addition to how difficult getting them is..... Petsafe really loves to hide their bad reviews.
zero service received.
Ordered a replacement door only for our cat flap as our dog smashed it. Ordered 8 days paying £7 on a £4 item, thought the postage was a lot but at least it would be super quick for that! I still have not received the door and we have had a gale blowing through the door all week. I have emailed twice with zero acknowledgement of my emails. I'm sure they are going to blame the courier, either way, terrible service all around. Oh and don't message asking for my order number, it's this PSGB44570.
Good customer service can go a long way
I have contacted customer service to request a solution for changing an existing cat flap (from a competitor) with a smart cat flap that has a timer on a double glazed door with a hole of 283mm diameter.
Jill K from customer service has replied to me with a detailed explanation saying that the Petporte cat flap can be used with the Microchip adaptor with some minimal DIY changes by making the screw holes on the adaptor bigger.
I just want to say that without this I would’ve never realised that I can fit it in and there are no other options on the market in this size.
I have emailed their main competitor with the same question at the same time and their response was just vague and not very helpful. Customer service can definitely go a long way.
I am now a very happy customer with a perfectly working smart cat flap that has a timer. 🙌

Do NOT recommend - product NEVER worked and company not standing behind product
We have had the Pawz Away Indoor Barrier (dog fence) since the end of January and it has never fully worked. We have spent so much time on the phone, doing virtual chats and contact customer service via email. This past week we were exhausted from trying what they recommend and I finally had time to reach out and say I just want to return the system. Alas, I got some canned response abut their 45 day return policy. Which I'd totally understand had it not been months where I'd been attempting to implement their recommendations (new batteries, move the disks to different areas, change strength settings, push the wire thing down on the inside) on how to get these disks to work. It's not that our dog isn't responding - they aren't beeping at all. Since they refuse to make this right for us I just wanted to share this experience with anyone who might be considering their indoor systems. I would NOT recommend them based on their poor product and poor customer service.

Buddy got bloody pressure sores on neck.
After several days, buddy broke out with sores. Company responded and tested collar. However, insurer denied claim for <$200 in vet bills. Said directions not followed or his skin was very sensitive. Vet and I don't agree with those reasons and feel co. Should back product for this and all I want is vet bills reimbursed.

Infrared Cat Flap
Infrared Cat Flap....I've bought 3 of these in 5 years, they work really well for around a year and then the electronic parts die as they have cheap electronic parts, so therefore infrared stops working. All the cat flap mechanism continues to work so I have to buy a whole replacement as their customer services seemed to be none existant and so are their parts availability, and therefore I now have 3 whole spare cat flaps where the electronics are burnt out. Though the only reason I use this make, as I have made a hole in the wall to fit this brand, and I cant bring my self to make a larger hole for a superior brand which is what i should do...basically this is a just stop gap!
Though my major complaint here and amongst all these other reviews is why does Pet Safe not make this item £10-£30 more expensive and use higher quality parts, instead of creating constant landfill.....Though i have the same question for everything made out of plastic I suppose!
Overall the items are well designed but cheaply executed, so why don't Pet Safe raise their standards and lower their profits, as I'd personally be embarrassed to own Pet Safe as a company making money creating such a load of landfill.
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night personally!

Products that don’t work and customer support reps who don’t know anything about the product and or simply reading from a checklist and continue to talk over you incessantly while you’re trying to get in a word or two. And no resolution. Avoid this company at all costs
Petsafe are not "pet safe"
We bought the latest and shiniest catflap from Petsafe (after reading their reviews). However, the catflap stopped working abruptly overnight. When we called PetSafe, they had known about this problem already (I.e. catflaps automatically locking with no warning). Knowing they have a faulty product, they should stop selling them and recall this particular line of catflaps. To any cat lover or afficiando, do not buy Petsafe products - they are not "pet safe"!

BEWARE: Petsafe's microchip catflap almost KILLED my cat. After two weeks of installation the flap failed overnight without notice and locked my cat outside in -2 C temperatures (below freezing!!). When I woke in the morning she was not home and I noticed the flashing red light. Fortunately, she turned up a few hours later a little shaken but I have no idea where she spent the night. I can only imagine the distress caused to be locked out your house in freezing conditions and I am thankful she had the instinct to survive. Customer service advised this was a known issue whereby the batteries drain quickly due to a fault with the motion sensor draining the batteries far quicker than normal, and giving no warning of battery failure as the instructions suggests. When batteries the run out the flap defaults to a locked position. I was immediately offered an upgraded flap at no extra cost, which I have declined. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a cat flap and avoid this potential disaster.

Spoke to customer service and ordered what they said was identical door as what I have now HAHA.. mine is metal and now they a cheap plastic. Very cheap plastic. And door flap is even worse as they have done away with side fuzzy stuff to help flap block wind.

I have purchased a chip operated cat flap for use by my 2 cats. Unfortunately it only works for one of the cats, I've tried all the troubleshooting options but still have the same issue. I contacted you by email and you asked for further info for the warranty which I sent and despite many chasers I've had no further response. I have paid £50 for this item which is not fit for purpose. You have not addressed the issue of replied to my many emails. The customer service is appalling and the product is not fit for purpose. I would not recommend anyone to deal with your company or invest in your products as the aftercare has been awful.

Had to call twice about problems with my bark spray color. Both times she got the same customer service rep. So rude. She just talked right on right on over me never gave me two chances to get any words in. She asked me questions and I answered them but she didn’t seem to listen to what I was saying. This time she decided to send me a replacement unit plus a prepaid shipping label to send the other unit back. So I’m just waiting and I will update you. Just wanted to give you the heads up of what kind of treatment you’ll get from PetSafe if you call for support.
Underground Dog Fences
I would recommend Pet Safe 110 percent. I had issues with a break in my wire in my under ground fence. They were very helpful in this matter. So helpful that they sent me a whole new system just to fix the problem. They we're courteous every time I spoke with them and also very patient.

I will NEVER buy petsafe again! I have 1 of there contain & train systems & I have been trying to get in touch with them regarding a few issues but nor response back! Dont answer the phone. When I email. I get a automated response saying they will get back to me within 48hrs. Never happened! I have tried way to many times!
Cats Wouldn't Take the Crystal Litter
I bought a PetSafe second generation self cleaning litterbox with a disposable tray and crystal litter. My cat's won't switch to the crystal litter, and when it was set up without a regular litterbox, they pooped and peed all over the house. I explained as much to the man on the phone (sorry I didn't catch his name) and asked if there was an alternate litter I could use. Since the answer to that was no, he actually sent me their other kind of self cleaning litterbox that takes premium clumping litter as a courtesy and I just had to pay for shipping. I've rarely had a customer service experience go that smoothly and quickly, and I will be back.
