Petsafe microchip cat flaps

Bought a petsafe microchip cat flap which is advertised to programme up to 99 cats. I have TWO cats and the cat flap lets one in but not the other. Went through petsafe customer service, tried all their troubleshooting options, I even returned it and bought a new one. They were not helpful at all. Told me it was probably an issue with my cats microchip, then that it was probably an issue with my door, then told me it was fitted too high (fitted at a cost of £120 by a professional). Then that i should return it (which would leave a huge hole in my back door.)
Honestly, I wish I'd read the reviews first because I've now got a very expensive cat flap that I've had to tape down the buttons to allow both cats (and anything else in the street) into and out of my house. When I returned to pets at home they told me they are constantly having problems with these microchip cat flaps not working. AVOID petsafe microchip cat flaps.

Petsafe gps plus tracking system sucks

Petsafe gps plus tracking system sucks. App doesn't prompt subscription set up and you cant manuallygo in in settings to set up subscription . Won't link to collar. Web sight doesn't work either. I tried uninstall of app multiple times.
It won't allow a zero star. I would give it negative stars if it would allow.

waste

I had the first SSS Cat and it worked. But here’s the annoying part: every time you turn it off, it sprays at least twice. I’m guessing the designers spent ages on this “feature” but didn’t explain why. Probably just to make the canister run out faster.

Technology has moved on, so buy the new model and throw the old one away. I did. The first replacement didn’t work at all and had to be exchanged immediately. The second one only works if you wave your hand 5–10 cm away—and completely ignores my cats. It doesn’t see them at all.

I especially regret spending money on this as I’m in Sweden, where the device costs significantly more. Total waste.

I purchased an auto feeder from Petsafe…

I purchased an auto feeder from Petsafe and did all the ways to set it up for many many weeks. I also movers it around to different spots of the house to see if there were any simple issues. Then I even went on their website support section. I even placed my questions on there too. Then I even placed a phone call with a service person at Petsafe.

Even though I did all that over so many times it never did work at all. This was the worst purchase and the dogs will die next week bc I will be out of town and they have no food to feed them for those days.

Petsafe is a waste of money for sure. I would buy any more of their stuff since I care about my pets.

Bad Products Bad Customer Service

Purchased a drinking fountain for my cat from my local Petsmart store. Paid 80$ for it and it is a piece of garbage. It is just over 1 year old and the water pump failed. You also have to take the whole thing apart to change the filter. What a pain it is. Sent a message to their customer service a few weeks ago no reply. Do not purchase from them I would not recommend.

After 5 years my dog door flaps are in…

After 5 years my dog door flaps are in bad shape. I placed an order thinking it was for both flaps, $26 for ONE plastic flap. And then $10 shipping. Then they charged sales tax on the whole $36 (taxing the shipping as well).

Then the screws on the outside flap are totally rusted. This is an outdoor door with RUSTING screws.

We got petsafe staywell pet door what a bad design I'm a joiner and fitted it to a timber door it really hard to fit because the margins are so small .I'll be throwing it in the bin once I find a proper replacement. It's clear the person that design it never fitted one.

Complete waste of money

Complete waste of money. I ordered a catflap 2 weeks ago in the UK, the order is flagged as Delivered but to a location in the Netherlands. Tried to call the customer service multiple times just to get the same response ''our offices are currently closed'' although I called on a Monday, Tuesday and Wed between 9am and 4pm. SHAME

Had trouble with my smart spin litter…

Had trouble with my smart spin litter box showing a 0 code mo where in the book shows a 0 code called customer service and spoke to Maggie, she was the sweetest person I have talked to in a long time. She was able to find the 0 code and was able to help me with the problem. Petsafe you have a wonderful employee in Maggie. She was the greatest. Thank you.

When Your Dog Breaks the Door Like the Hulk: A Better Hinge Solution

To anyone who has purchased the PetSafe Electronic Dog Door and experienced issues with your dog breaking the hinge like the Hulk—you’re not alone. I’ve had the same problem with the weak plastic hinge breaking. After getting tired of spending money on replacement doors (especially since the hinge can’t be replaced separately), I designed my own replacement hinge that’s compatible with the large dog door. Works well once installed, but setup takes some effort

We’ve been using the PetSafe Stubborn Dog in-ground fence system for a while now, and overall it’s done what we needed it to do. Once everything is installed and set up, it’s been reliable at keeping our dog inside the yard without having to worry about physical fencing.
The biggest downside is the initial install. Burying the wire and getting the boundary dialed in takes time and patience, and it’s definitely more work than just putting up a temporary fence. But after that, it’s pretty hands-off.
The collar has been consistent and the system does a good job of reinforcing boundaries without us having to constantly monitor things. It’s not perfect, but it’s been a solid solution for our situation.

Amazing Customer Service Standing By Their Customers!!!

We have the Petsafe Stay and Play wireless fence and the box stopped working, so we called and Cheryl the customer service personnel, was amazing! So kind and sweet! She asked some good questions and helped resolve the issue by sending us out a new unit. Our boys will be shocked once we receive it as they don't look too happy about it 🤣 Thank you Cheryl! Thank you Petsafe!!!!

Absolutely unacceptable.

Absolutely unacceptable.

I have tried contacting PetSafe’s department in Ireland multiple times, both through their contact form and by phone. I have received zero response. Customer support is nonexistent.

The SmartSpin litter box does not work as advertised. It constantly misdetects my cat, thinking she is inside the litter box when she is not, and sometimes failing to detect her when she actually is. This even happens during an active cleaning cycle, which causes the machine to stop and refuse to clean.

Because of this, I am forced to unplug and replug the machine just to get it running again. This has become a daily problem, not a one-off glitch. The unit is less than two months old.

For an expensive “smart” product, this is a complete failure. Unreliable hardware combined with unreachable customer support makes this brand impossible to recommend

Wrong item received

I ordered the extreme weather pet door on Amazon. They sent me a weird map, nothing at all like a pet door. I returned the item as instructed by Amazon. They initially refunded my payment, but later reversed the refund as they said I did not return the item I purchased. (Which I never got).

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. I was able to talk to a real live person. My situation is very non-standard. They worked with me to troubleshoot a solution. I am thrilled with how hard they work to solve the issue.

I wish I could give this a lower…

I wish I could give this a lower rating. I purchased a dog collar on the 22nd of October for nearly £100, and it is faulty and completely unusable. I have tried repeatedly to contact the company via email, Facebook, Instagram, and through their website, but I have been completely ignored. I am now out of pocket and left with a product that does not do what it claims to do. This level of customer service is extremely disappointing.

Petsafe big cat door locking and soft close feature

On the Petsafe big cat pet door with soft-closing flap, if you purchase one of these pay close attention to the instruction. The provided cutout template is incorrect, screws hole don’t align and is upside down. If you go by the template you will have a upside down hole in your door or wall. Luckily I caught it, othe than that we love it.
