ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. PARKDEAN TRECCO BAY
IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARTS I WOULD
this was without question, one of the most horrendous holiday experiences we have ever had. What should have been our honeymoon just one week after getting married, and a special family holiday became a complete nightmare of filthy accommodation, broken facilities, ongoing ant infestation, repeated complaints, and a seriously most frightening safety incident involving our young children.
The caravan was absolutely DISGUSTING.
The sofa was so badly stained I couldn’t tell what colour it was meant to be, between old food stains and faeces stains was absolutely appalling.
The carpet was also covered in stains and so unclean that soon as my twins bare feet had touched the floor and walked a few steps the soles of there feet was black.
The kitchen was even worse- we opened the cupboard and there was a plate in there that was covered in food which looked like a dinner hD been left on the plate, left to fester and grow its own penicillin the mould was horrendous as was the smell. The plates hadn’t been cleaned nor had any glasses, the oven tray was absolutely thick with old grease and fat.
There was rubbing in the cupboards. This clearly had not been checked by any staff.
There was no sweeping brush available to sweep the floors. We had paid for accommodation — yet we were left feeling as though we had to clean someone else's mess before our family could properly use it.
The shower head was broken and spraying water everywhere. Again how was this signed off as for for purpose?
Then we discovered the ANT INFESTATION.
Ants were repeatedly found throughout the caravan, including around the floors and food preparation areas. We contacted staff MORE THAN SIX TIMES during our stay regarding the various ongoing problems.
Staff attended regarding the ants and treated the issue with vinegar, but the problem continued.
Instead of relaxing on our honeymoon, we were constantly cleaning, wiping surfaces and worrying about ants around our children and food.
THE MOST SERIOUS ISSUE — OUR CHILDREN'S SAFETY
During our stay, children outside our caravan repeatedly pulled open our caravan window while my twins were standing on the sofa inside.
Despite my husband asking them to stop, it continued.
On one occasion, my twins nearly fell head-first out of the window.
This was absolutely terrifying.
Had I not been close enough to intervene, my children could have suffered a serious injury.
We reported this to security because we were understandably extremely concerned.
Unfortunately, security were completely unhelpful, leaving us feeling that a potentially serious safety incident involving young children was simply not being treated with the urgency or seriousness it deserved.
STAFF RESPONSE WAS EQUALLY SHOCKING
When we questioned reception about why the accommodation looked nothing like what we had seen when booking, we were told that the photographs were merely for “illustrative purposes.”
When we questioned this explanation further, we were met with what felt like blank looks and complete indifference.
There was no meaningful explanation and no real acknowledgement of why we were so concerned.
However, what makes this even more telling is what happened when I subsequently spoke to one of Parkdean's advisers by telephone.
During that conversation, the adviser themselves acknowledged that the accommodation had fallen well below Parkdean's expected standards and stated that the accommodation should not have been let out in that condition.
So even Parkdean's own adviser acknowledged that the condition of the accommodation was unacceptable.
That speaks volumes.
If your own adviser is acknowledging that the accommodation should never have been let out in that condition, how was it ever considered acceptable for a paying family to stay there in the first place?
AND THIS WAS OUR HONEYMOON.
We had married only the week before.
We deliberately wanted to create special memories with our family.
Instead, we spent our honeymoon:
Cleaning filthy floors.
Washing dirty dishes and glasses.
Dealing with an ant infestation.
Reporting problems repeatedly.
Contacting staff more than SIX TIMES.
Dealing with a broken shower.
Worrying about our children's safety.
Reporting a frightening window incident.
Dealing with unhelpful security.
Being met with blank looks when questioning the accommodation.
This wasn't a holiday.
It was an absolute nightmare.
And after everything we experienced, Parkdean's proposed resolution was a DISCOUNTED RETURN STAY.
Seriously?
Why would we want to return to the place that gave us this experience?
A discounted return holiday doesn't compensate us for the honeymoon and family holiday we have already lost.
We’d NEVER return to trecco bay or book parkdean again
DO not visit Sundrum castle resort…

When we arrive there were ants all over…
When we arrive there were ants all over the kitchen worktops, 4 times i rang, no one came except a security guard. We were going to a general swim, but 1 of our party had forgot swim shorts so had to go back and get them, we were told when he got bk that the swim was full and to come bk at 3pm, so we went bk at 3pm only to be told we have to come bk at 4.30. I had to go to reception to see about the ants but girl at reception was good she got the ants sorted but this was wednesday, and we were allowed to go into swimming . But would not rebook.
Awful arrived to our gold caravan
Awful arrived to our gold caravan, dirty old not even BRONZE standard and then fridge and cooker were broken and main bed broken made to sleep on a matress on the floor all week. Cherry tree great yarmouth AVOID , manager is incompetent and doesn't help! Back home made a complaint and they haven't even apologised for all the issues!
Absolutely awful company with staff…
Absolutely awful company with staff that all give different information. Wasn't made aware that commercial vehicles weren't allowed on site, no information on booking regarding this and only told via voice mail a week before we are due to go. This is a small van with no signage and is our family vehicle. Told we could drive on site unload and then park elsewhere, was told we could park on site and then was told If we turn up on site then we will be turned away and no refund will be given even though we was told the wrong information. My holiday was cancelled by them yesterday without my permission. I have cancelled and full refund on the way. 2 days before we were due to go. Shocking customer service. Discrimination. Will never book with Hoseasons or Parkdean Resorts again. Disgusted!!!!
Avoid at all costs
On day 5 the grill/oven exploded resulting in injury to myself on my legs and feet. Security staff came and the man was extremely rude and patronising, I told him we had no food to cook as it was now contaminated with glass he says you still eat it and rolled his eyes. Managment came and the staff member was talked to. We got offered to move vans but felt heavily pressured not to and to accept an offer to eat in the Restaurant, mains only. On the first meal there I choked on a huge hair that was cooked into a fried egg. I was physically pulling it out of my throat. The meal was returned and I did not eat.
We felt very uncomfortable in the restaurant almost like we were in the wrong eating there.
We had to throw all the remaining food we had purchased away due to no cooking facilities.
On the day of leaving upon stripping the beds as we always do as a courtesy we found bed bugs/ fleas in the bed which accounted for all the bites we suffered from.
Zak bartlett anon bully
Recently used a complaints group on facebook about park dean resorts.
I was then threatend and slandered by anonamous people replying on my post.
After some investigating, and the admin being in contact i found out it was the entertainment manager ZAK BARTLETT of Brynowen doing this.
Since this has happend, I have had numerous people contact me regarding Zaks behavoir on site. He is all nice in front of customers but behind the scenes is a complete bully.
He bullys his staff, makes the woman staff cry and is a complete narccasist.
Vile person.
I booked at Lizard Point in cornwall…
I booked at Lizard Point in cornwall for 11 nights , unfortunately I checked out 3 days early due to the fact of sleeping on the floor on the sofa bed mattress and sofa cushions as the sofa bed was completely crap to sleep on.
They did try and say it was fixed when I reported it was broken I checked it and it wasn't fixed so I had to report it again, then the guy came and put it a complete different sofa bed and it was still uncomfortable. The caravan smelt musty when first stepping inside. If you book and have kids be prepared to go broke at the arcade as you don't really win to much every activity you basically pay for which could rack up the cost.
The location is easy access to everything in cornwall if you drive , if you dont drive you'll be stuck on site.
Entertainment was ok , I didnt really go.
The outside pool was hardly open for some reason.
It was good as a base but I wouldn't do another caravan holiday as this was a first for me.
Staff was friendly
The boathouse prices are expensive
The fish and chips shop on site the chips tasted like frozen mccains not actually chips from a chippy.
Bingo is starts from £20
Apart from all of that it was a okay as holiday as I ended up using it as a base and not stay on site
We booked premium gold apartment
We booked premium gold apartment. Everything was good except for the sofa that was in a very bad shape. The carvan says it could sleep 8 people which includes 2 on the sofa. However, only person among us slept and had back pain.
If charging this much then should spend something on the sofas as well.
caravans always clean
caravans always clean. tidy. and the park is always. spotless. and the staff are great.

It is an easy way to book a holiday the only thing is the now do not tell you what part of the park you will be staying e.g Treehawk which I would know exactly where we would be also to pay extra for parking being disabled is not a very good way to go
Not accessible friendly
As an accessible caravan user the shop is far too far away and the dropped curves strangly go round corners before you can cross the road with wheelchairs. My grandson is 6 and the whole site is most definitely not geared towards disabled users. It seems there are token gestures like the swing for a wheelchair but that's it. The whole layout needs updating for equality purposes. We cannot return for that reason. It's been hard work
The website was clear and easy to use
The website was clear and easy to use. We are now looking forward to our holiday!

Caravans are old dirty carpets and run down. Not worth the money when you can go to other parks and get new caravans same price. Wouldn’t go back very disappointed in the park
Relaxed park
Relaxed park, not overcrowded.
Caravan areas separated nicely.
Plenty to do for the kids.

We had a lodge it was horrendous the lodge was so dirty there was mould in all the bathrooms they were so dirty and smelt so bad and cracks in the sinks and toilet and shower so dirty the kitchen was filthy too the floor was coming up the sink and side boards so dirty cooker dishwasher washing machine smells so bad the coffee table the dining table sticky and dirty the bed and bedding smells stale the sofas smell so stale and there’s stains all over them the blinds so dusting and really dirty all the walls lots of brown marks over especially in the bathrooms the out decking so dirty and smothered in birds poo and old massive dusty spider webs the outside furniture birds poo all over and so dirty the hot tub bits in it and a worker appeared to check on the hot tub didn’t knock didn’t even speak to us my husband had to ask what he was up too and the shop on Sandford park cost way to much £2.99 for a extra small loaf of bread the restaurant dirty and so overpriced the food was horrendous and not much choice and the service so slow and manic and kids running riot everywhere and there’s a accident waiting to happen we stayed at warm well 2 years ago it way amazing we are going to try and leave a day early avoid this park it horrendous so dirty and far to busy and it’s so frustrating it cost a fortune .
And the tv,s didn’t work and no internet connection please avoid sandford park is the worst park and everything was so overpriced .
We stayed at Wemyss Bay caravan park on…
We stayed at Wemyss Bay caravan park on 7 August. We booked a Bronze plus with 2 toilets. We never got this, only had 1 toilet. The caravan 10 waterside was badly neglected with stained carpets, dirty and stained sofa, also sofa bed was broken and dirty. Dirty glasses in cupboard. Central heating never worked. Gap at top of front door which anyone could have pushed open to get in. Fridge freezer blocked with ice. No microwave which we did get after phoning reception. No hooks to hang towels which was ridiculous. We wanted moved but no availability so asked for refund so we could go home, Gemma in reception refused refund, said we could only get 25 pounds for the 2nd toilet we booked. The entertainment and swimming was okay for kids. We left a day early on the 3 day break as couldn't stay any longer. Also there is a paedophile staying in a caravan on site as the council had nowhere to put him. There was a big protest about that. Totally unbelievable that Parkdean would accommodate this for council when park full of children it totally beggars belief. I have previously owned a caravan and have been to many in different locations but this was the worst.
Its was horrendous
Its was horrendous
I told the lady on the phone that both of us were disabled so we needed parking and a spacious caravan and it would need to be wall distance from beach she said well you can walk but be a 10 minute drive. Because we had to change our booking about 4/5 days before we were supposed to be going to another parkdean in Lancashire. However, on the morning of the day we found out my best friends mom had to have chemo on the Wednesday.and she lives and goes for treatment in Bournemouth. I was rather gutted as I'd just paid a little over £90 to change it to a Silver star with sea view and decking. So that money I lost because when I phone to change booking you said we had to down grade to bronze as that's all that was available. We'll we checked up until half an hour before arriving and there was a Silver available and now it had dropped in cost to less than we paid for Silver. Couldn't believe the fact of being lied to in such sad circumstances. We didn't have a designated parking space. We found it awfully hard to get up step we could even bring all our stuff in as had no way of getting it up. The bruises we sustained were horrendous we could sleep in bedr[m and had to sleep on sofa I went and told reception and nothing was done or offered. I disgusted. Whenever I tried to call reception it would ring and ring then get cut of sound like someone was picking up the phone and putting it down. So I tested my theory went to reception and neither girls on the desk we on the phone. The way the one girl went red was as if she'd been caught out so I asked for an official email to male a complaint officially to send the pictures of the injuries we got because they place was so small. Dangerous and not safe. The oven smelt like a dead rat was in there being cooked with its fur on it smelled so bad couldn't use it. The carpets were filthy, the hard floors filthy even the fabric stall filthy the bathroom and even shower cubical smelled like raw poop. Was awful because was miles away not 10bmins and definitely not walking distance. Listen to the call we we ripped off and we only changed to be there with her mom all day while she sat having her chemo. Which was so sad to watch as the doctorsnspokento my friend andnsaid she's now in heart failure and has probably only got months left the chemo may the thing that will actually end her life. Was devastating. I shall be making an official complaint I want a full refund as its disgusting
