Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently highlight the ease and straightforwardness of opening an account, often noting the quick setup process. Many appreciate the competitive interest rates, which are often described as market-leading and a key reason for choosing the company. The website and app are generally praised for being user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to navigate, with clear instructions and information. However, some people were dissatisfied with certain aspects of the service, particularly regarding security procedures and app functionality. A few users found the security measures overly complex or had difficulty accessing their accounts, especially when dealing with phone changes or a preference for desktop banking without app reliance. There were also occasional mentions of the app being clunky or issues with verifying identity, leading to frustration for a minority of customers.

About Oxbury Bank Plc

Written by the company

Oxbury Bank was founded to provide the food and farming industries with the funding and support that they need. We are extremely positive about the future of agriculture and the opportunities available for the sector.

Every pound saved with Oxbury goes to help farmers and the wider market produce food, preserve the countryside and deliver a positive impact to the rural economy. We’re a bank that wants to see farming businesses thrive, together we can make that happen.

For most banks, farming is only a small part of their business. At Oxbury, it is what we do.

So Easy

Best experience ever of an online savings portal. Also love the fact they support the farming community, competitive savings rates. App is very easy to use. I made a mistake on my account transfers the other day and they sorted it out quickly no fuss. Brilliant hope it stays that way.

We were trying to instruct Oxbury to transfer our funds on maturity. We each have new mobiles and QR codes with photos are beyond us. A lady from Obury kindly 'phoned to resolve the matter quickly and efficently so five stars!

Have not signed in for a months and mobile device needs to be re-registered. The email sent ends up with a QR code that has to be viewed by the said mobile device so no way to verify id. Absolute numbskull of a system. No telephone contact. A truly agricultural system. Had to use my wife's phone to verify id which from my passport confused me with some guy in Sydney Australia. AT this point I have no idea how to get back into my account

Customer service poor

All fine when I don't need anything more than information as to savings account balance, interest and statements. Do it all online (logging in is a challenge but ok). But yikes if there's a question or a problem you have to use the chat function, which I detest. 99% of them are bots (the giveaway is when there are no typing, syntax, spelling or punctuation errors) and there is too long between questions and response. In this way Oxbury wins the war of attrition against those pesky customers who have questions about their own money.

Good interest rate but terrible business and customer service policies

The account set up was reasonably easily and I provided all my bank details which they obviously verified as it's a legal obligation that they have to do, they then opened my account which was a 90 day notice Tracker account and I deposited quite a large amount.

When I wanted to withdraw some of my money I gave the 90 days notice, but they then decided that they now didn't like the online bank that I had used when I opened the account (even though the British Government pay my Pension into it) so they decided to close my account and told me to open an account at another bank that they could pay my money into? I obviously said no and made a complaint which they upheld and gave me a pathetic £50 compensation.

However the real rub is that although they admitted that all the mistakes were at their end, they still made me wait 60 days for me to get my money back!!!

I know people say that banks always want everything their way, but this a rediculous way to treat clients, but also shows that they have no real business brain running the bank, otherwise they would be far more open and accomodating to clients who they want to deposit money with them, instead of trying to tell them which bank to use.

Appalling Customer Service

I received a request to give maturity instructions for my 6 month deposit. I do not use Apps and as I was unable to provide a PIN could not access my account. Seriously idiotic process which does not allow you merely to use their on line banking portal. When I rang ( they seem to not like customers calling ) was confronted by two really unhelpful team members, the latter of which implied my bank account was fraudulent..... I have sent complaint. If you do not like Banking on your phone I STRONGLY recommend you avoid this bank at all costs.
