Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently highlight the ease and straightforwardness of opening an account, often noting the quick setup process. Many appreciate the competitive interest rates, which are often described as market-leading and a key reason for choosing the company. The website and app are generally praised for being user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to navigate, with clear instructions and information. However, some people were dissatisfied with certain aspects of the service, particularly regarding security procedures and app functionality. A few users found the security measures overly complex or had difficulty accessing their accounts, especially when dealing with phone changes or a preference for desktop banking without app reliance. There were also occasional mentions of the app being clunky or issues with verifying identity, leading to frustration for a minority of customers.

About Oxbury Bank Plc

Written by the company

Oxbury Bank was founded to provide the food and farming industries with the funding and support that they need. We are extremely positive about the future of agriculture and the opportunities available for the sector.

Every pound saved with Oxbury goes to help farmers and the wider market produce food, preserve the countryside and deliver a positive impact to the rural economy. We’re a bank that wants to see farming businesses thrive, together we can make that happen.

For most banks, farming is only a small part of their business. At Oxbury, it is what we do.

Non reporting to HMRC

All Oxbury customers need to recognise the following written statement I received from Oxbury - "Banks are required by HMRC to complete a Bank and Building Society Interest (BBIS) return. Oxbury does not currently have this obligation". Very strange; what makes Oxbury so special? This must be resulting in a loss of HMRC tax revenues? Every individual has a responsibility to report to HMRC, if required, AND SO DO BANKS...!

A very easy web site and app to navigate but even so I still managed to make an error. A call to the help desk, that was answered immediately, and everything was sorted out without drama. Efficient and their savings rates are as good as any available at this time. Whats not to recommend ?

If you thought Labour was…

If you thought Labour was anti-business, wait until you try dealing with Oxbury Bank 😂
Took finance on a machine. Business actually grows (imagine that), now want to sell it & refinance the remaining balance onto a newer, larger machine.
Oxbury: “No thanks, you're locked in till the end of the term.”
In Oxbury-Labour World, businesses are only allowed to expand once every 5 years when the finance timer dings.
Their “generous” early exit offer? 3% of the remaining balance.
That's not an exit fee – that's basically a “stay trapped or pay us a fortune to leave” tax.
Makes selling the machine and upgrading completely unviable. Congrats Oxbury, you've turned asset finance into a hostage negotiation.
Hands down the worst lender I've ever dealt with. Zero flexibility, zero interest in actual business growth.
Won't touch them again unless they bin this ridiculous locked-in-forever stance.
If you're a farmer/small business owner thinking of Oxbury for machinery finance… maybe look elsewhere first.
