Stephen Morgan handled the probate application and was excellent — efficient, prompt and well organised throughout, which made the process straightforward at what can be a difficult time.

The conveyancing team, led by Howard and supported by Harry and Kerri, communicated well and kept matters progressing despite the sale becoming unexpectedly drawn out due to issues on the buyer’s side, which were entirely outside their control.

We dealt with Jess Barrett at Newtons in York for our very troublesome purchase of our new home. We live in Richmond but was fortunate enough to have Jess undertake our home purchase via their Richmond office. If it hadn’t have been for the absolute careful, persistent hard work and effort put into pushing this through we would have lost our purchase. Also problems that hadn’t been highlighted by the sellers were picked up straight away by Jess, problems which would in the future have caused a lot of heartache. We cannot recommend Newtons highly enough and for anyone to have Jess deal with your sale or purchase, a solicitor who absolutely goes the extra mile.

Emma and Olivia supported us with the sale of our home and the purchase of our new one. We had a very positive experience with Newtons Solicitors in Penrith during our recent house purchase.

We were originally with Butterworths Solicitors, who closed overnight just as we were about to exchange and complete, which made things unexpectedly complicated. A few other firms suggested we might have to start the whole process again, but Newtons were willing to step in at very short notice, review the file, and pick things up from where they had been left.

Denise, Peter and Catrina were all very responsive and kept everything moving while coordinating with the rest of the chain. Communication was clear throughout, and they worked quickly to deal with the outstanding issues.

Despite the situation they inherited, they managed to take over the matter and get us to completion in just over three weeks, 24 days in total, which we really appreciated.

Given the circumstances, we were very impressed with how efficiently everything was handled and would happily recommend Newtons Solicitors.
