Second time using Newton’s. Mainly had dealings and communication with Harry (but also Howard and Kerri). All have been so helpful and professional in our sale and purchase. Response time was exceptional. All matters dealt with promptly and efficiently. Would happily use Newton’s again and would recommend their services.

Newtons Solicitors had previously been very helpful when we discussed Wills, so we were disappointed with our most recent experience.

We got in touch about making a new Will and were asked to provide quite a lot of information in advance, including family tree details, assets, specific items we wanted to include in the Will, and other considerations. This took a fair amount of time to pull together, so we expected the meeting to be focused and informed.

Unfortunately, when we attended the 30-minute appointment, the solicitor was late and appeared unprepared. We had tried calling several times after the meeting start time, and when the meeting did begin, it felt as though they had forgotten about it. The solicitor then asked for information that had already been provided, and I had to point out that it had all been sent in advance.

Given the level of preparation and the advice provided, we decided not to proceed with them for the Will or related advice. This was a shame, as our earlier experience with another solicitor at Newtons had been excellent.

Update – 18 May 2026: Following my review, Bill (Newtons solicitors) responded promptly and acknowledged the concerns raised. He explained that this was not the experience he would want for clients and arranged to get in touch personally. We then had an open and honest conversation about what had happened, which felt genuine and constructive. Bill’s approach helped restore my confidence, and we are going to review our Will with his help. I have updated this review to reflect the positive customer relations shown and the reassurance provided that the matter would be looked at properly. Thanks

As a first-time buyer after renting for 20 years, the whole process felt very daunting at first, but Carolyn, Sophie, and Kelly at Newtons were absolutely brilliant from start to finish.

No question ever felt too silly, and they always made me feel valued and supported throughout the process. Their communication was clear, efficient, and incredibly quick, which made such a stressful process feel much more manageable.

What really stood out was how they went above and beyond to help move things forward, even covering work that hadn’t been completed by the vendor’s solicitor to help speed up the process.

I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I would definitely use them again in the future if I come to sell my property and would happily recommend them to friends and family.

Newtons prepared the lease on our behalf of a newly constructed commercial building. The negotiations were long and complicated with alterations required to the premises, therefore, a licences for alteration and agreement to lease were also required. Dan Warwick carried out the legal work including some negotiating on lease terms. Dan demonstrated extreme patience and competence during the process, explaining implications of proposed terms. My co-executor and myself were looking for a lawyer who dealt with Contentious law, as we had a tricky situation regarding my nephew and deceased sister in law.
Our case was handled not only with professionalism and efficiency but also sympathy and concern by Mr Gill.

The case is not yet “wrapped up” but that is more due to the slow wheels of justice than our lawyer!

We worked with Newtons on the combined sale of one house and purchase of another. Emma and Olivia have always been incredibly quick to communicate and take care of anything that has needed actioning, and their correspondence has never been anything less than clear, well laid-out and highly useful. My understanding of literature is limited. Ms Bradwell always went into great detail to explain everything and always offered to read letters and documents to me. She never made me feel inadequate.
