I tried to use your cash machine and it initially wouldn't work for me, until a staff member came to my help and I was able to get the cásh I needed.

I received an e-mail concerning alleged correspondence I was supposed to have received re not responding to a letter confirming I was at an address and threatening to suspend my account if I did not respond - an address I have lived at for nearly 40 years and the same address I have had an account linked to for 20 plus years. Was the message phishing of some sort?? No such correspondence was received at my address. None of this made any sense at all and I tried to make telephone contact to understand/resolve this issue. At every attempt, the Nationwide system blocked me being put through to a "live" person. If their system does not recognise the query - basically Nationwide tells you to go stuff yourself. Atrocious service from a company that I had previously rated highly, Nationwide - hang your head in shame! I will be making a formal compliant in writing which presumably will take you time and trouble to respond - if you capable of doing so.

This week, after a seemingly straightforward transaction online, I discovered Nationwide had blocked my card.
It transpired that the company I purchased from are an unethical lot, who manage very schemingly, to keep just within the legal boundaries.
After an online search, I discovered many other people who have been hoodwinked by these scallywags and lost out financially.
Thanks to the efficiency of Daisy from the Fraud Team at Nationwide who 'phoned me, in my case they were unsuccessful.

Friendly, helpful staff.
Unfortunately, I had not received my switch service payment into my account when I visited the branch.
I find these surveys are very much a 'one size fits all' so do not accurately reflect comments/opinions.

Friendly staff, nice to be able to go into a bank and speak to someone face to face

Good, honest people doing banking to support communities.
Nationwide building society is one of only 2 banks still open in my local town. They’ve still moved with the times offering competitive rates across their range and all online facilities you’d need and their updated online view is a big improvement (I say as a returning customer). What they offer in branch is still a much needed resource for so many and their fair share scheme is a beacon to show other banks how they could be! The switch guarantee moved me back but I’ll be staying for good now!

The lady serving me is experienced, and that showed. She was aware of the extra task I needed to carry out, and helped with that too. No fuss, just practical.

Staff in branch always helpful. Available on the phone - much better than a call centre. Member bonuses are always a welcome treat - far fairer and more efficient than shareholder dividends.
