Musixmatch Is Actively Damaging to Artists

Update – 4 December 2025
Further proof that Musixmatch’s system is broken:
I replied to Dani on Nov 28 at 10:09 AM.
On Dec 3 at 1:58 PM, Trustpilot notified me that Musixmatch edited the reply and claimed I “hadn’t replied” — which is false.
At 2:33 PM, Musixmatch emailed me referencing my 3 December review update. I then sent three replies (Dec 3 at 2:35 PM, 2:36 PM, and 2:42 PM) including a PDF of the entire email thread. I still received no reply.
Either my email was blocked or their internal system is malfunctioning — again.

At this stage:
• My dashboard does not load
• My catalog remains broken and releases missing from my profile
• I cannot add or edit lyrics even as the copyright holder and publisher
• Their ingestion errors remain unresolved
• Their communication loop is contradictory and unreliable

Based on my experience, I now recommend artists look for alternatives, because the problems are escalating, not improving. Dani from support seems willing to help, but he is clearly limited by internal policies and a platform that refuses to fix itself.

Update – 3 December 2025
Musixmatch claiming I “did not reply” is shameful when I did reply and they simply did not respond.

Update – 26 November 2025
Immediately after posting my review, Musixmatch triggered a Trustpilot “More details needed” request — a tactic commonly used by companies attempting to suppress negative reviews.

The form included:
• My email already pre-filled
• No field to describe the issue
• A mandatory “Full Name” field they already have
• A “Reference Number” I cannot provide because they never issued one
• An unnecessary phone number request

Musixmatch already has my full account history, metadata, emails, and profile information. None of these extra steps were required to “verify” anything. It’s simply another barrier to silence criticism.

They spend more time disputing reviews than fixing their ingestion system — which is the source of the problem.

Original Review – 25 November 2025
Musixmatch has become one of the most dysfunctional, careless, and misleading platforms in the music industry. They provide lyrics for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Instagram, and more — yet their own ingestion system is completely unreliable.

My catalog is correct everywhere else (confirmed by Spotify, Apple, and my distributor).
Musixmatch is the only platform where everything is broken.

System Failures:
• Entire releases missing
• ISRCs incorrectly mixed
• Tracks merged across releases
• Primary artists becoming “featured” at random
• Dashboard showing only old releases
• New releases not appearing
• Lyrics tools disabled because the system can’t detect songs
• Support taking weeks to answer with copy-paste templates

These are not user errors — they are Musixmatch’s ingestion failures.

Their “solution”?
They told me to take down the release and re-upload it, which is catastrophic for artists:
❌ lost streams
❌ lost playlisting
❌ broken links
❌ destroyed algorithm history
❌ damaged charts
❌ wiped library saves

No competent professional would ever recommend this. It shows a dangerous lack of understanding of digital catalog management.

Meanwhile, they keep pushing paid services:
“Try Musixmatch Pro.”
“Upgrade for more tools.”

Why pay for a platform that cannot load your catalog, show your releases, or read your metadata?

Accountability:
Musixmatch wants to be the central authority for global lyrics, but they refuse to fix fundamental system failures. They break catalogs, give harmful advice, stall communication, and then upsell.

Final Warning to Artists and expectations:
• Missing releases
• Wrong ISRCs
• Broken profiles
• Corrupted metadata
• Endless support loops
• Zero responsibility
• Upselling instead of solutions

Musixmatch must fix its foundation before pretending to offer professional services.
Right now, the platform is unstable, unreliable, and harmful to artists.

Update 3rd of December 2025:

We’d like to clarify a few points:

Trustpilot “More Details” request: The form you saw is a standard Trustpilot feature and not something we control. We need your email so we can locate your support ticket, while also giving you the option to provide additional information. We don’t require or see your phone number or any other details beyond what’s needed to assist you.

Negative reviews: We do not suppress negative reviews. We’ve flagged very few reviews, only in exceptional cases, and these are publicly displayed by Trustpilot. We genuinely thank you and other users for providing feedback, as it allows us to address problems and improve our system.

Catalogue issues: As mentioned in our last email on 28th November, we fixed the catalogue issues you flagged. However, we also noticed some differences in how Apple Music and Spotify categorize certain releases on your artist profile. These differences are controlled by the platforms or your distributor, so they aren’t something we can fix directly.

We know things don’t always go as smoothly as expected, and we’re here to help. Thank you again for engaging with us—we truly value your input and patience.

Your ticket is still open since we haven't heard back after the 28th of November, feel free to get back to us.

Original reply 26 November 2025:

Hello,

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had — we understand how important accurate metadata and a reliable workflow are for artists, and we know how discouraging it can feel when things don’t work as they should.

Thank you for taking the time to share all these details. We want you to know that we’re taking your feedback seriously. We will carry out a full and thorough review of your catalog and the information you’ve already provided so we can understand exactly what went wrong in your specific case. Our goal is to identify any issues on our side and make sure you receive clear guidance and a proper resolution.

We truly appreciate your patience, and we will reach back out once the internal review is complete.

Best Regards,
The Musixmatch Team

Too paranoid and unreliable

It's super paranoid about robots and gives 400 CAPTCHAS and does not let anyone edit the songs and most of the time, only 3 songs of the album are transcribed

It's simple yet complete, and also very intuitive. The app could be more optimized; it's easier to write, edit, and sync through the website,Even so, it's an excellent platform.

Horrid experience

Horrid. Musixmatch, at least the free version, is the least user friendly site I've come across other than Microsoft. Full of more bugs than a summer cornfield. No company assistance, just constant redirect to have other users fix their problems. Even basic things don't work or are stuck in an endless loop between pages or site sections. Not even a contact form or bug report. Can't believe they're still in business.
