George Romney Ltd is a fourth-generation confectionery business that you’ll find located on the edge of the Lake District National Park in the market town of Kendal. Mr Sam. T. Clarke, the great grandfather of the present Managing Director, Mr John Barron, started production of Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake in 1918 after being medically discharged during the First World War. Unable to obtain supplies of Kendal Mint Cake, he sought out and purchased an old recipe and started a confectionery manufacturing business. The company name ‘George Romney Ltd.’ was chosen as a result of Kendal’s association with the famous portrait painter, as well as the fact that the family home was on Romney Road. Romney's Kendal Mint Cake was immortalised in history on May 29th 1953 when it was carried on the first successful summit of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sirdar Tenzing. All of our production now takes place on-site at Mintsfeet Industrial Estate, Kendal, where we have been since 1969. We now employ 16 members of full and part-time staff, who collectively produce over 100 tonnes of Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake a year. We also produce a large range of fudge, gift hampers, and our very own Old Fashioned Treacle Toffee — that’s still being made to an original family recipe.

What can I say? I like Romney's mint cake, bought some on their website and it arrived. That was my experience.
The original style packaging
The original style packaging. Important as the order was a gift to someone with dementia and it brought back happy memories for him. Quick response to my order, reasonable delivery charge, good communication and reliable delivery.

Pity about the packaging, see uodate
Great products, well priced, just a pity the packaging was not up to the job. 3 out of 10 bars of Kendal mint cake broken into pieces and the nice tin to keep a bar of KMC in also didn't make the journey without being damaged, great pity, will I buy again, depends not impressed, with this order....
UPDATE...
After being contacted by Greg, my order has now been completed to my satisfaction, thanks Greg and all at Romney's for sorting out the problem, this time everything was well packaged and arrived in A1 condition.

My husband loves this stuff
My husband loves this stuff, it comes in perfect snack size bars for when he goes to golf.
Greg helped me quickly and the order…
Greg helped me quickly and the order was delivered by mail service straight to my home in western Canada with zero hassle. I wish I had pushed harder for a mixed order of half brown, half white , but did not. The one comment I would have is is to make split order types easier on those low-mid-range volumes of product. All in all the ordering and fulfillment was excellent. Good customer experience, and thanks again.

Just Brilliant !
The chocolate kendal mint cake is the best
Very quick delivery with everything packaged well. We loved the kendal mint cake but weren't too keen on the fudge.
Recent purchase
Recently bought a box of white and a box of brown mint cake. I used to buy this in the late sixties, early seventies, yes its just as good as it has always been. they were a present for the wife who loves the stuff, the difference is it lasts a lot longer with her than it does with me.
