Obliged to share my experience…

I feel obliged to share my experience as I am totally flummoxed by the way it was handled. I have been a long time customer of Laura and Melanie Lynn, its sister company. In fact just in 2023, I may have spent a little over $500 and I still consider Laura, my favourite store with good product offerings and very helpful staff at the stores. I was however dismayed by the customer service response (Katina Daley) I received about a small problem I encountered with an online order I made.

First to note is that the toll-free number to contact Laura Customer Service is not valid across North America. Also worth noting is that this is my first time voicing a concern. I have been communicating with Katina who offered a solution of a code to use towards another purchase at Laura. This code is valid for six months after which, it expires.

I am on the cusp of travelling abroad and so I tried to utilize this "credit" before I leave. The transaction is cancelled without a reason proffered; I am surmising it might be out of stock. I contacted Katina about the latest development and asked if she would consult with her manager to either credit my credit card or send me a Laura gift card for the same amount.

Well, here is exciting part. My email address has been programmed to go to spam by Customer Service so there is no way to continue my email conversations with Katina Daley. What a cold and terrible way to deal with a long standing customers. I feel everyone ought to hear of this experience.

Floral Cap Sleeve Blouse

I have shopped Laura Plus for decades and it's been hit or miss every time: hit or miss depending on the cut (A-line, swing or flare is best for the plus size apple shaped figure, yet too many of the tops are straight-cut, with deeper-than-necessary necklines). This time, I took a leap of faith and, going by the photo of the blouse online, I purchased the lovely gray floral blouse with cap sleeves, online. On the whole, it's a lovely piece, with ample coverage over the "apple" bits, long enough to flatter. However. The neckline plunged far too low, exposing more than just a bit of cleavage. Why is it so difficult to have tops sewn with a more modest neckline? Not everyone likes to expose their cleavage; some of us prefer a more modest neckline. I've taken to shopping on American online sites because of just that issue, and have found that their designers are much more sensible in what looks flattering and the overly plunging neckline certainly does not.

The worst exchange/return policy known…

The worst exchange/return policy known to mankind. Shopped total about 812.00 online in July 2023. It is 14 DAY RETURN POLICY. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to return the unwanted items within 14 days, so I got the store credit for the items I purchased not the Price I paid instead the Discounted Price. So I lost $101.17 in total.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of…

A few months ago I had the pleasure of being helped by Diana Piperni ( who works at the Melanie Lyne store located in the St. Laurent shopping centre). Her customer service was above and beyond…she was amazing! I was looking for an outfit for a job interview and she helped find me something I would have never had thought to buy, but I ended up loving. I’m glad I came across her card on my desk because she deserves a 5 star review!

WARNING don't buy from Laura Canada…

WARNING don't buy from Laura Canada because you won't get your money back and/or true exchanges! I bought 1 shorts @ $23.99 (ExchangeOnly:No Refunds) & 1long pants @ 79.99 both Brand:Laura, online. My usual jeans size is 16-18. Laura's matching waists are 2-3 sizes larger. Closest return is Laura's at Crossroads Mall at Weston Rd.Manager, young tall female was awful, saying no refunds/no Credit if I cannot locate another shorts. So she wanted me to lose the money I paid? Same brand same fibre % (Linen n Rayon) one with stripes instead of plain was only available but Mgr insisted she can't give me this as "replacement", n checked it out @$29.99 refused any discounts (even though 50% off was current), and I had to pay the difference + taxes, to get the shipped shorts "replaced"! A Salesrep from Yorkdale Melanie Lynne, named (Rai), transferred to this store was visibly disliked by the Mgr & a Black Salesrep. Rai worked hard to try to prevent me getting a refund for the eligible pants but my size wasn't available in Black. Experienced older women must not just be pushed to a store with younger reps who feel threatened.

Terrible Return Policy!

I had a great shopping experience at Laura, but the return policy is terrible. I bought two dresses, for my daughter's wedding, thinking that I could return one after I showed them to my daughter. The nearest Laura is over an hour away for me. Sadly after 14 days there are no returns. This is partly my fault for not reading the return policy, and assuming that I could return one of the dresses with all tags and packaging, as you can in most stores. They also did not let me know verbally at the time of purchasing what the return policy was.
Be aware that the return policy is the worst!

The worst exchange/return policy known…

The worst exchange/return policy known to mankind. Spent 250.00 on a dress for my daughters wedding in July. Purchased at the end of April....delivered in mid May. Dress is too casual for the wedding so I wanted to exchange it or receive an instore credit. 14 DAY RETURN POLICY.......not 30 or even 90 for credit only. STUCK WITH THIS DRESS......DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Excellent Service

I shopped at Laura, Polo Park in Winnipeg. Valentina was the Sales Associate who helped me. She was amazing! She was very helpful, patient, kind, honest and friendly. There are very few places with service like that and amazing people like Valentina. Thank you!!!

THE ASSISTANT MANAGER AT OUTLET WPG MB IS RUDE!!!!!! WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE/ CUSTOMER SERVICE

Me and my mom bought a dress couple days and and we were told by a lady who works at laura that it will be 14 days to return or after that it’ll be exchange or store credit. We went today (march 18,2023) to buy my dress and my sister’s dress and I generally asked if those dresses have the same policy of store credit because thats what we were told last time.
So i asked the question that “will it be exchangeable after 14 days? Or I’ll get the store credit?” The employee who was helping us told us that there’s no policy such as exchanges or store credit. She called her ASSISTANT MANAGER! SHE WAS SO RUDE TO US! She didn’t know how to talk to a customer, she didn’t know how to talk to kids (my sister’s just 14 and she’s an introvert, she got hurt by the way she spoke) I HATE THIS STORE SO MUCH! I will never shop here again! And wont let my family enter the store! I couldn’t believe how rude she was. It was a really bad experience. I hated it so much! Wont even buy anything from there again! I RECOMMEND TO NOT BUY SINCE ITS ALSO EXPENSIVE AND WORKERS ARE NOT POLITE

Worst exchange policy ever

Worst exchange policy ever. I can understand a short return policy but exchange… 14 days… That is complete bull.
I’m a single mother that needed something nice for court, court that didn’t end up happening. I would have loved to exchange for something I’d actually wear. Tags still on, never worn and I have the original receipt. But it’s past the 14 days. Absolute crap. I will not be shopping here again that’s for sure.

Be wary of return shipping costs! I wasn't.

While I liked the coat I ordered online, it was a little big so I had to mail it back (closest store to me was almost 2 hrs away). I knew I was responsible for the return shipping costs (which is disappointing since many businesses offer free return shipping or discounted), but I had NO idea it would cost me $35 to return it! Very upset about this and will not be ordering again in the future. Be WARY of online return shipping costs is my advice.

I took my 86 year old mother to the…

I took my 86 year old mother to the south centre store in Calgary. We were greeted by a sales associate by the name of Bev I think she was the manager. She was so kind to my mother and picked out a few items and took in to the change room and stayed with her to help. After mom picked out a pair of pants she took our payment and was so friendly. I give the whole store a thumbs up and hope to continue the hard work.

Body Shaming Teenager Girl's

1st off I am posting 1 star as this is the only option to get this on this site. Stopped by the Guelph store with my teenage daughter in search of her prom dress, this was our first time out in search of her dress for her upcoming prom. We walked in the store and was welcomed in by a sales associate from behind the counter. We headed to the prom dress section and looked around, another sales rep approached us and noted to let us know if we needed any help. (Off to a good start right?? I thought the same) As we continued looking we located one dress my daughter wanted to try, I checked the sizes and realized her size was not on the rack, regardless I suggested she tried the size up from her size, which was on the rack, just to see if she liked the style. The same sales associate we offered to help was near by, so my daughter asked for a room, while I continued looking around. I overhead her say to my daughter you should take one size up in with you in case you need it. My daughter replied there was none and she would try the one in her hands, and they headed to the change room. After a little while my daughter called for me from the change room. I went in the change room and she said mom that lady was so rude! She told me she could get me a shape wear to try with the dress. I was quite upset after seeing the tears in my daughters eyes she was holding back. I composed myself and help my daughter zip up the dress she was trying, which was too big in the body on the fit. After deciding this was not the dress style she was looking for she changed to leave. I headed over to the sales rep to mention she should be mindful of what she tells teenager girls coming out to shop for thier prom dresses, I mentioned to her mental health is of concern in the world, so telling teenagers they need shape wear is not a good idea. She shouldn't be doing this. She justified her actions saying this was what sales reps told all customers because of the kind of dresses they sold. Now I find this disturbing, automatically offering shape wear to customers doesn't seem right, even worse to teenager girls. My question now is what is Laura's contribution to building health communities if it's operations is not aware of the affects of Body Shaming.

Shoddy customer service and poor quality clothing

Had to return a winter coat after wearing it only once as the back of the snap closure on pocket ripped through the material the first time I tried to undo snap.
So after a long day at work I went into store to return coat and salesperson behind counter greeted me with " Hello, how are you?" Quite pleasant - I replied " I'm fine, thank you." She glared at me and said " I'm fine as well, thank you for asking." Really lady? Passive aggression kicked in big time with this one. I was pleasant but was tired and just wanted to go home. I explained the situation and she told me to pick something out for exchange {also found out they did not have my size in stock) I told her I didn't' want to do that this evening and she told me "then we cannot do your exchange". No offer of a gift certificate or other solution. Now I was annoyed! Another person stepped in and was pleasant and advised they could order my size and have it delivered to my address. Great! I gave all info and several days later got a message from the store advising the coat was ready for pick up. I called back and told the clerk (not same lady) the coat was supposed to be delivered to my home address. The response was "well you weren't charged any extra fees so you can just come and pick it up". When I do get over there to pick up the coat I will be done with this company once and for all.

Shop elsewhere if you don’t want to be scammed

Shop elsewhere, if you don’t want to be scammed by this store and loose money. My first time oline shopping with Laura, it was around boxing sale and decided to try buying. NEVER received the package. The courier is called GoBolt Boxnight sent me an email about the delivery with a picture of the package left on my door at around 8pm. No door bell to inform that there’s a package at the door. However the package is not there, I never see the package at my door ever. My neighborhood is a safe one. I never have any online delivery missing before. Even with bigger packages and I am away for days when a delivery comes, the package is never missing. Tried the courier customer service - DEAD END cannot be contacted. Tried Laura customer service but no solution at all only forward me the same email as the courier sent and that’s it no other follow up. Very bad customer service. From the reviews I see now that many customers also experienced the same issue as me. Ordered online, the courier GoBolt Nightbox, package never arrived, no solution from Laura. From my point of view, they are running scams for the online shopping customers. So folks, like I said on the beginning, stay away from this store. And hope no one loose their money again here.

Went to Laura’s to return two items

Went to Laura’s to return two items. I did in fact lose my receipt and the associate was extremely rude, dismissive and arrogant. She advised that without the receipt nothing could be done and that I could leave the store. I was astonished at such horrible treatment.

I’ve been a loyal customer with Laura and Melanie Lynn for over 20 years. This store is in the trinity common strip mall. Also two associates were trying on clothes and also ignoring customers in the store. Unbelievable.
I promptly called customer service and they pulled up my account and sent me my receipt. It was not difficult or labour intensive.
I will be returning the items now and will also be taking my business elsewhere. I’m really so disappointed in this store. It taints all the others sadly.

Worth service ever not return policy .I…

Worst service ever on return policy .I screwed over almost $400.They don’t trust their customer they think they can proved them self right even they are wrong.i will tell everybody not to shop there .I was in hospital the day I did purchased and I wasn’t able to go back and return the dress and I got blamed for damage the dress….This is never happened with me before on any store .I told my friend and she said go to consumer board.They need to learn their lessons.

Shopped on line

Shopped on line. My ordered was confirmed and shipped December 3rd. It was shipped with Gobolt. Never received my order. A few phone calls placed to both Gobolt and Laura. No order delivered . Finally Laura refunded my order. Dont order online.
