1950's born women of which I am one…

1950's born women of which I am one have been robbed by this & previous Governments of not so Great Britain ! Many of us have worked since 15 and were told that if we paid into a system that we would retire by 60 , we were not notified before our 60th Birthday that this age had been hiked to 66 If the people responsible for this Greed & corruption were held to account they would be in prison !!!! Where is our justice ? We have been to the court of appeal twice , held rallys & protested, none of which have been on T.V. Go figure , Why is this injustice allowed to continue ? Many women are dying committing suicide living their autumn years in poverty .,Is this equality ? No its the result of corruption & greed . There is enough in this world for everyone's need ! Not everyone's greed !!!!!

I have been robbed of over £45000 by…

I have been robbed of over £45000 by the government from my stolen pension despite paying NI contributions for over 40 years. Now because of COVID I have no employment and am reliant on my husband’s earnings for the first time in our 35 year marriage- so much for equality and the government do not care or listen despite this affecting almost 4 million women and their families.

They robbed 4 million women and they could rob you too.

Cannot give this corrupt Government more than one star. I am one of the women born in 1950s who have been totally robbed of around £40,000. I had expected my State Pension at age 60 but it was hiked up, not once, but twice! Firstly in 1995 by the Conservative Government and then again in 2011 by the Tory/ Lib Dem coalition. I had to wait until I was 65 and 8 months until I received my first pension pay out. I have worked and paid NI for 50 years. The process "they" used to raise our pension age must have been worked out on the back of an envelope. It has been so very unfair on nearly 4 million of us. It is nothing short of a scandal. Sadly, almost ninety thousand women born in the 1950s have passed away before they received their pensions. I could so nearly have been one of these unfortunates as I had breast cancer last year. I know of 2 who took their own lives. Thousands have sold their houses and one lady had to live in a car. Not all women marry. Many are on their own in their early 60s , some are divorced, widowed but many are just......on their own, fending for themselves, unable to continue working due to poor health. I am lucky in some respects as my husband has supported me [even though I still work part time at age 66 as a dance teacher] I did, however, over the past 5 years, use up all my savings [remember I started work in 1970 - aged 16] . This money could have helped my daughter who , in her early 30s, lives in London and will never own her own property. This has been pure robbery. Our PM , when he needed our votes, promised he would "look at this issue again". He has not. He will not. We will keep fighting though, for what is rightly ours - we will never give in. BEWARE YOUNG PEOPLE - QUESTION WHERE YOUR NI IS GOING. THEY ROBBED US AND THEY WILL ROB YOU TOO.

Corrupt Thieving Greedy Tories Having worked from the age of 16

Having worked from the age of 16, and paid full NI and Tax I expected to retire and receive my State Pension at the age of 60
Having not received ANY NOTICE from the DWP of the increase in the retirement age for women, it came as an enormous shock, with little time to save for the extra 6 years.
I am single, and have no one to help me, I have no option therefore to keep working until 66 years. At time of writing, I am 65years and 6 months, am suffering ill health, but am forced to work full time, on abysmal wages.
This corrupt thieving Govt and their predessesors have ruined my life, and have STOLEN over £45,000 (to date), of my money - they are an utter disgrace.
It seems they would rather give £100,000's to murdering fox hunts, allowing their evil, vile pastimes to continue during a pandemic - utterly unforgiveable and truly shameful!
I think its about time that the British public stood up to this greedy, corrupt, self serving, heartless government!
Signed by Sue Whittle
A Disgusted Pensionless to be Pensioner in 6 months, if I manage to last that long!

Uncaring, corrupt government

Would give a minus if it were available.
The handling of C19 and it bumbling mistakes is causing more deaths. Stop paying the governments friends and give such as Track and Trace to firms that can deliver.
Also 1950’s women who have paid into the system since they were 15 years old myself being one of them are struggling to survive as personally I have had to wait 6 extra years for my pension I thought I would get it at 60 but no 66. Still waiting.
No extra money real money for hospitals and nurses the people who are keeping us going and all the other key workers 🌈.
This government does not look after those that require help and support but seeks only to line their own pockets, shameful.

Minus five.

If I could give this government a negative review I would - a MINUS five. Giving big money contracts for PPE and test and trace to their buddies - tax payers money I might add to people who have no experience in the disciplines and skills required at all. Encouraging the elite to break the rules - thereby rendering said rules useless, so no - one takes any notice of them thus ensuring that COVID 19 spreads. The businesses go bust leaving the guys with the fat wallets to hoover up the remains at rock bottom prices. Stealing our pensions to pay for a debt which they managed to triple - even before coronavirus hit. I could go on more or less indefinitely about the corruption and mismanagement this government has overseen and orchestrated.

The UK Government has thrown a whole…

The UK Government has thrown a whole generation of 1950s born women to the wolves. These women never had true equity or equality with men and yet without due statutory and legal notice had six years added to their state pensions age. Boris Johnson, the current MP stated that he would look at the situation with new eyes and vigour when elected and yet these women, and many of them in dire financial straights, still await this to actually happen. Covid 19 has cruelly exacerbated unemployment and these women struggle to find employment when pitted against younger generations for interview. Dr Tedros of WHO has categorically stated the increased risk of Covid 19 for the over 60s and yet these women who are able to hold onto their jobs are working in supermarkets, shops, schools and hospitals risking their lives. Do the right thing Boris and give them their rightful, lawful pensions and whilst you are at it - A State Pension Age of age 60 for ALL WOMEN AND MEN in order to protect the senior citizens of this Country! We have worked long enough, paid enough taxes and deserve to be valued!

What an appalling shambolic excuse for…

What an appalling shambolic excuse for a government. Plenty of money trees for them to hand out to their relatives and cronies but nothing for the robbed 50sborn women whose pensions were plundered and used to bail out greedy bankers.
Taken to the cleaners then hung out to dry or die in abject poverty, tis is grand theft from those of us who have worked and lived our lives doing what we were told was for the best. Disgusted with all MPs who condone this inflicted poverty
If i could have scored them zero I would have.

Born in May 1955 and worked since August 1971. Almost 50 years NI contributions but will not receive full SP when I get it in June 2021 age 66 due to being contracted out. 50sWomen have been treated with contempt by the government who have no empathy. Our generation have been consistently downtrodden throughout life. This government have been cruel to enforce the steep increase of 6 years in SPA without informing us. They are making sure that everyone knows about SPA changes now but this is no good for 50sWomen. How can we recoup £48000 in old age. Who researched the physical and mental impact of working into our 60s? Nobody! Mostly women of this generation did all the hard slog of childcare and caring for elderly parents as well as holding down low paid work. Now we are expected to work through a pandemic in our 60s with underlying health conditions. I expect it is all part of the bigger picture of hoping that many of us will die to reduce the pension costs further. Totally unforgivable.

Retirement Injustice for Women.

Retirement Injustice for Women.
Equality of state pension age is by no means pension equality. The average woman’s pension is far lower than a mans, latest estimates show a 40% gender pensions gap. Women have always been and still are second class citizens in the UK pensions system. They are far more reliant on the state pension because they have less private pension. Women lose out because of their social role, working in lower paid sectors and looking after family, work part time, therefore lower lifetime earnings. None of this has been taken into account when also increasing 50’s born women’s retirement age by 6 years. Having had to retire from a key worker role at 63 to protect and care for my vulnerable older husband, I am now reliant on him to survive financially until I reach 66. I’ve worked for 46 years paying NI and expected to retire at 60, it is disgusting to now be in this situation. I worked through the blatant discrimination in the 1970’s fighting to obtain promotion in the workplace to be told ‘the role needs to be done by a man’. Unable to join the company’s state pension scheme for 4 years. Urgent reforms need to be made to improve pensions for women. The Government have focused too much on increasing the state pension age and have failed to adequately warn women in time to try to prepare for their delayed pensions.

As a 1950's woman I entered into a…

As a 1950's woman I entered into a contract when I commenced employment at 16 . A contract that stated I would receive my State Pension at 60. I didnt !!
I only discovered 18 months before my 60th Birthday that I would not get my pension then. Too late then to make any financial changes. I always worked part time, ( couldnt pay into a company pension because I was part time). All my working life I have had part time jobs to fit in around family life. Looked after my neice and nephews 2 days a week for no financial reward to help my sister. At 62 redundancy, from my job, depending solely on my husband who incidently as a manual worker has never earned "big money". 18 months it took me to get another job. In the meantime I have and still have the responsibility at the age of 65 with caring for my elderly mother with Altzheimers and Dementia. I suffer with Psoratic , (stress related) and Osteoarthritis, have a prolapsed bladder and feel worn out. This government and previous governments knew long before informing us that they would be changing legislation regarding pensions. We were not informed until it was too late. I have paid in 43 years NI ? We have been totally robbed. I have no faith anymore, we will be working with one foot in the grave before long !!

Government is too self serving.

The Government consistently ignores the will of the people it purports to represent, 84% against fox hunting but they llet it blatantly continue as so called trail hunting.

They set up e-petitions yet again consistently ignore them - so many get hundreds of thousands of signatures to just be ignored.

They took money from Pensions Fund and then instead of repaying it they just raised Womens pension age with no notice effectively stealing their pensions.

Members flout Covid Rules they expect others to comply with, make excessive and sometimes fraudulent expenses claims etc. award contacts to mates etc. I could go on but it is too depressing to think how powerless the average person is against this elite boys club.

The make up of Government is a joke as the majority of MP’s have great wealth and a privileged background. It is time Government was made up of ordinary folk - something more on lines of Jury Service - decent people who care about this Country and understand what it is like in the real world living on either the average salary or so called living wage or universal credit.

This appalling misogynistic Government…

This appalling misogynistic Government is responsible for forcing a whole generation of women born in the 1950’s into poverty. Despite being fully aware of the extreme hardship suffered by these women due to the appallingly mishandled raising of their pension age, this government have refused to take any action to alleviate the distress currently being experienced by many of the 3.8 million women affected. Justice Eadie speaking on behalf of the DWP advised the appeal judges including the Master of the rolls that the government was not obliged to inform these women of the rise in their pension age as their pension was a benefit. Six years has been added to these women’s pension age with no notice being offered other than some pathetic adverts in broadsheet papers such as the Financial Times and absurd adverts of two dogs talking in a women’s magazine in the 90’s. No attempt was made to inform these women properly, no letters at all at the time the pension age was raised, in fact Peter Lilie Minister in charge at the time actively prevented these women being informed as he feared they would be unhappy! A few women received letters in 2012 following the second rise of their pension age in 2011. Most of the women have never been formally advised of this lengthy extension to their pension age. In the original Judicial Review judgement decades of discrimination was dismissed as ‘social norms’. There is massive discrimination in terms of pension payments due to the discrimination experienced by women in their lives through discrimination in wages and domestic care roles. This impacts directly on women’s pensions. For women born in the 1950’s discrimination existed in every aspect of their lives and even now it is apparent that these same women are again being discriminated in the workplace as recent ONS statistics have shown they are being made redundant at a higher rate than other age groups and rising numbers of these women are now being forced out of the workplace and onto Universal Credit and ESA. It is time for these women to be given back their dignity and their pensions. This is not just an issue for 1950’s women this affects everyone’s right to their pension.
