Cancelled my holiday in June 2020 after…

After hotelopia replied ti my review on this site i thought great. They asked for my email . 2 wks later no refund or further communication. Terrible way to run a business. I could not be more disappointed

Cancelled my holiday in June 2020 after taking the free cancellation offer.

Got email saying refund will take 5 to 20 days, i still have nothing.

I emailed 3 times and called numerous times where you get cut off.

I have now informed my credit card provider who has taken up the case.

After my review of June 1

After my review of June 1, I received a reply from Hotelopia via Trustpilot with the request to forward my personal details and booking number. I immediately sent them the requested information. Now we are almost 2 months further and no more response received, not by mail or via Trustpilot. As a comparison, we have already received our refund from the airline company.
From Hotelopia, 6 months after our cancelled travel dates we don't even have a small email confirming that the refund will be taken care of. Sorry that we are obliged to begin take legal actions.

Refund

I had to cancel my hotel booking after Ryanair flights cancellation. I was worried after reading some bad reviews how I am going to get my refund. I called customer service to cancel and money was refunded back in my account the next day! ( I was told it would take 5 - 20 days)

No responses, poor quality of booking system

I made booking via Diners Club travel portal and unfortunately, the booking has been processed via Hotelopia. Booking number is 120-488263. The trip is already over, however, until now I am receiving EVERYDAY notifications from Hotelopia with reservation confirmation together with the payment receipt. I contacted Hotelopia and asked not to send me the documents everyday, but I am still getting it. The answer from Hotelopia I did not receive until now.

Refunds

Cancelled Glasgow hotel, received refund 2 days.

Zero response to a number of emails…

Zero response to a number of emails regarding cancellation due to COVID-19 etc. All the numbers on emails and website Do not allow you to actually call I managed to get through once but was hung up on immediately! Since then the numbers do not work at all! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

This Company is a Scam

I canceled my booking with them and have yet to receive a refund. All of their phone numbers are "out of service at this time". This website is a scam - they will not answer emails and will not issue refunds. If someone could help find out how I can get refunded from this company - that would be great.

no Corona support

Due to Corona my hotel was closed. I had no upfront info from Hotelopia. They haven't replied to my inquiry yet and are not easy to reach. Never again.

This is just to reassure everyone that…

This is just to reassure everyone that Hotelopia is a legit site and they are not scammers. I made a booking recently and it took a few days to go through but the hotel in New York just confirmed it was in their system. Their customer service is just overwhelmed with calls due to the current crisis. I started freaking out at first after reading the slew of negative comments on here but be patient. Bear in mind their offices are located in England so obviously it's important to call during business hours. Don't panic!

Like others promised a refund for a…

Like others promised a refund for a booking cancelled because of Covid. Initially promised my money would be refunded in 5 weeks - waited since Feb with no response from repeated emails, dont think I will ever see my cash again 😢
Since this Hotelopia contacted me for my reference number - however still no refund or any further contact from them-very disappointed I could really do with my money back!
After months of waiting today I finally had my refund

Booked hotel through Hotelopia

Booked hotel through Hotelopia. Due to COVID19 the hotel informed the cancellation without penalty. Still waiting for the refund from Hotelopia more than 8 weeks. Booking 264-692738. Bad company. Never book again!

The website doesn’t exist anymore and no way to reach customer service. This site should be banned from the legal system.

I made two reservations yesterday with free cancellation option. I haven’t received any confirmation but they already charged my credit card in full. As I tried to cancel my stays, I found out that the website is down and the customer service is unreachable.

I will suggest anyone who tries to book from the site to stay away from this booking agency!!! And I will seek legal advice to take this website down, if nothing improves. Exactly because we are in the time of COVID19, those illegal business operations will and shall be exposed!

My reservation No. 436-2617192 and 436-2617187, in case Hotelopia tries to get hold of me and this situation. I will update and let’s see.

Horrible

I've been trying to contact them to cancel my booking for a whole week. The link to the "My Booking" tab is broken and the website is useless. I've written three emails to their head office and no answer. No customer service line is active, not even the emergency number.

Had free cancellation for a hotel…

Had free cancellation for a hotel booking planned in july 2020. Cancelled 01.05.2020 and still have not received my almost 300 euro from them. Contacted them multiple times but only receive automated reply.
Next step will be to go to the lawyer.
Was happy in past with hotelopia but this is really bad.
