Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 77 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently mention that the tinned soups and cooking sauces now feature a very watery consistency instead of traditional thickness. Many people feel that the recipes have definitely changed for the worse, resulting in extremely bland dishes that completely lack any proper flavor. Some reviewers were not happy with the unusually high prices, noting that local supermarket alternatives taste much better and offer superior value. Buyers also expressed deep frustration regarding missing key components like small pieces of meat or fresh vegetables, alongside unexpected and unwelcome recipe modifications.

After swearing by heinz for most of my life, there seemed to be a dramatic drop in quality from the 2010s onward (especially the watery baked beans) so I switched to buying own brand store versions and oh my god they are usually so much better.
I only buy Tesco own brand tomato sauce (the full sugar version is lovely) and baked beans now, they are so much nicer and the baked beans especially have a much thicker sauce.

You save money too, I always giggle now when I see the store brand shelves are empty, meanwhile the heinz stuff is fully stocked and reduced. Gone the way of Cadbury I never touch that awful chocolate now.

Heinz beans and sausages used to be my absolute fave. Probs went through a few tins a week, But since they’ve changed to Richmond they are vile! Same for the beans and sausages… just why…! I read today that it was to improve the recipe and taste… well blow me, it’s done the complete opposite. Please listen to the feedback and bring back the OGs!

Not only do they actually taste 1 million times bettter (the ogs) but they also didn’t contain gluten! This doesn’t really matter to me, but well done in reducing your customer base, by doing this but honestly I will not be continuing to buy them.

Another customer lost!

Richmond sausages are disgusting in your beans and sausages, haven't bought again since the first time I tried these. Absolutely gross and no amount of fake reviews or blog bullshit is going to make me buy these again. Listen to your customers and bring back the original ones.

Heinz soups are not what they used to be

Heinz soups are so watered down now that they are
tasteless. I remember when they were thick and tasty, now they are all water with no consistency or taste. Just had their mushroom soup and it was disgusting like drinking water. I won't be buying anymore of their soups .

10 dented tins

Ordered 20 tins of the 5 beans variety, which I love. BUT 10 of the tins were dented. Tried to contact help centre but they couldn't help me without pictures. I tried all sugestions to down load my pictures. didn't work. I sent them to a friend just to make sure and they received them with no problem. Asked for a postal adress so I could post the pictures. This has taken a LOT of time. Never got a reply.

Bring back curried beans

Why have Heinz taken curried beans off the shelf, we loved them, went perfectly on jacket potatoes or with cold meats and pickles. The new Tikka beans are horrible, won’t be buying them again, they look a funny colour and smell and taste awful too. Such a shame.

Heinz baked beans have changed their taste . I buy lots of tins but today we noticed the difference from a multipack . Crap sauce and the beans tasted slightly under cooked . I shall have to now try other brands ! The saying goes . If it ain't broke don't try and fix it !!!! 60 years of loving Heinz beans and now I am going elsewhere !!!

Heinz tomato ketchup total garbage and tasteless

Heinz tomato ketchup used to be my go-to, but I never questioned it—until the price went up. I decided to try some other brands and was shocked to discover that an expensive supermarket's own brand actually tastes like tomatoes! (Laughs) I had gotten so used to Heinz that I didn’t even think about the flavor, but now... there’s no turning back. And to top it off, I noticed the 1.35kg bottle has now been downsized to just 1kg for the same price!

Sorry forgot to mention M&S tomato sauce is £1 for a bottle and it's tip top.

What have they done to my Chicken Soup

As with others I was tempted to have an old childhood favourite for lunch today so paid CO-OP an insane £1.90 for a tin of Cream of Chicken soup. What a mistake this was..More consistency and taste in a puddle of water than this. I would have been better drinking a glass of water and apart from the price, the quality of this product has plummeted. A huge disappointment so please avoid as this is literally a very pale reflection of the former product

A TASTELESS OVER PRICED RIP OFF

Having ate Heinz beans whilst at my sister's today, and the conversation that it led to, I had to write this review...

As a kid, I loved everything Heinz did. Especially their pork sausage and beans. I would have ate them for every meal if had been up to me, and not my mother!! LOL And their ketchup tasted so gorgeous, I would eat ketchup sandwiches!! LOL

Skip forward 20 years to the mid 2000's, and I had been an athlete who had not ate Heinz in all of those years. However, my athletic days were now at an end, and so I wanted to reacquaint myself with gorgeous Heinz.

My God I was so disappointed, and I could not understand what had happened to Heinz, because everything I tried tasted awful. I put this down to my athletic diet, changing my taste buds with age. However, when I mentioned this to my best friend, he said... "Nah, Heinz hasn't been good for years. It's Heinz in name and nothing more, not to mention an absolute rip off!!" I couldn't agree more.

I never ate anything Heinz again! Until today 15 years on, and they still taste bland and dull. I now much prefer Aldi's in house products, which are closer in taste to Heinz's glory years, than Heinz themselves are!!

I recently saw a Netflix feature about Aldi, where a Heinz vs Aldi Ketchup challenge was done with members of the public, all but one or two people picked Aldi over Heinz. The Aldi sauce will cost you a fraction of the price of Heinz. Its so arrogant of Heinz to believe their product is good enough to deserve such a high price. Its absolutely not, and if Heinz sold their products at Aldi prices, I still wouldn't pay for them. Heinz lowering their prices won't make their products taste any better, or as good as they once did...

YUK'

I have to say that since Kraft/Heinz were bought by an American capital investment company the quality of all products have had all their ingredients changed, this is for the benefit of American citizens whose taste buds are used to junk food. We here in the UK have a much more of a craving for good quality and tasty food. Heinz now just turn out garbage.
