Racism and neglect is my experience

Racism and neglect is my experience. Racist incident happened five days ago and I reported it immediately to their formal customer service email but they just ignore it. It seems to me the customer service representative is not fewer racist neglected than the employees which makes them to ignore a discrimination incident. Also the lady in the store claimed that it's too late to serve a customer where she had time to sit and show her manicure to her colleagues and have some laughter. Too bad!.

A useless autocentre at Ramsgate

A useless autocentre at Ramsgate. Unbelievably, they have cancelled two MOT bookings because their ramp is out of action ----for a MONTH! It would put other garages out of business. If they can't fix a ramp, how do they get on with cars I wonder. Not that it worried the front desk person.

Amazing Service

Went into Halfords in Hamilton today with my Grandson , he was looking for a slip and slide , the girl was very helpful but they did not have any in stock . We left the store to check if any other stores had it . The girl from Halfords then came out after us to say she had managed to find one .My Grandson was delighted . This service was amazing and , the assistant called Cat went above and beyond today she is an asset to your company , one happy boy .Thank you . I will recommend this store to family and friends.

AVOID for air con

Booked my car in to have the air con re gassed paid the £75 when I dropped the car off they then called me said mines on a newer gas so is going to be £140 feet I had no choice as my car was already there so agreed to pay the difference on collection. When I picked the car up they said we found a leak but we fixed it so it should be ok the next day air con wasn’t working. They are now trying to say they advised me before I have the go ahead that there was no guarantee it would work blatant lie so I’ve now had to raise a complaint with head office and try to get my money back. Woman in customer service was useless just kept repeating the same thing over and over and talking over me. Will never use them ever again

Rotherham Parkgate - Avoid

No Halfords at Rotherham Parkgate absolutely shocking. I paid for air con and full service and paid just short of £400. Air Con wasn’t done and not sure what they did during the service as they didn’t mention any of the things I knew needed doing and they they didn’t pay any attention to the warning light I had, which also wasn’t removed although it’s stated in the the service description that they’d see to it. I feel they didn’t do anything and I’ve paid almost £400 for nothing. Avoid
I have returned my car to be rectified, they stayed an hour. It’s now well over an hour, I have to collect my children and there’s 4 workers just stood having a laugh, my car in the background with bonnet up. Honestly, they’re ridiculous.

If there was a zero star it would be getting one…booked car in…was on the call 7 mins…ran all over like a blue arse fly for them 2 basically call me a liar…I dunno who more useless the 1 under Alexander bridge or trimdon street

Mobile tyre fitting service - unsafe and rude

I booked a mobile tyre fitting service. The technician refused to drive up our road (first time this has happened in over 13 years, and we have much larger vehicles access our road every week). The technician's attitude was rude, arrogant and utterly disinterested. I provided alternative locations, all of which he refused to use. Eventually a kind neighbour allowed use of their property. The technician promised to call me when the work was complete, but didn't. He left, gave me no notification and left my car unlocked, blocking my neighbour's drive. 2 days later when driving the car for the first time, the balancing (included in my service) was so dangerously out, I had to stop away from home to have them rebalanced, and pay on top. Quite probably the worst customer experience and service all round.

Booked my Volvo xc40 recharge in for a…

Booked my Volvo xc40 recharge in for a air con check. Filled in the online form which includes the registration. All good. They can do it.
They didnt have a clue!!! Total waste of time. Decided not to leave car there when one of the technicians decided to look at Google for help.
Thanks for nothing Kingsbury Road Birmingham Halfords.

They sold me a Carrera Impel 2 ebike in…

They sold me a Carrera Impel 2 ebike in 2022. Ebike batteries die BUT YOU CANNOT BUY A REPLACEMENT BATTERY as Halfords say the company building them has gone out of business! No battery rebuilder that I have contacted will touch a Carrera. So I have a perfect electric bike and no battery. There are scores of complaints on social media citing the same thing—Halfords leaving Impel 2 ebike buyers stuck with an oversized paperweight.

Don’t bother

I recently ordered two replacement fob covers for my Hyundai i10 which I tried to fit myself, unsuccessfully. I visited the Biggleswade store to ask if they could do it, as they apparently fit wiper blades, bulbs, etc. The store was pretty much empty of staff and customers, so I asked a tall thin guy with a ponytail if there was anyone who could help. Without even getting details of what I was actually asking for, he glanced down at the key in my hand, and said “no, we’re not allowed to”…customer service at its best!

Stretford branch

Tom at the Stretford, Chester Road branch is the most professional and friendliest staff member. I had an emergency with my car this morning that could have potentially left me without a car all weekend as the oil cap had fallen into the engine. I rang the local branch and he gave me advice on how to get the car to him safely and all the staff were so busy but he managed to squeeze me in for a job that was an easy fix but he didn't need to be so helpful when I had no booking but he was an absolute life saver and fixed a very stressful morning for me. I cannot thank him enough

I am deeply disappointed with the…

I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at Halfords Whittlesey.

I dropped my car off yesterday morning at 8:50am for a 10-point check. The customer service representative explained that they were extremely busy and short-staffed, so I would need to return later to collect my vehicle. She asked whether I would be able to come back on Monday, but I explained that this would not be possible. I did, however, confirm that I was happy to collect the car later that same day, as I did not need it immediately. She thanked me for my understanding and patience.

I waited throughout the day for an update, but I did not receive a single phone call. Instead, at 5:39pm, I received an email informing me that my appointment had been cancelled and that I would need to reschedule.

After receiving the email, I went to the garage to collect my car. On arrival, the customer service representative spoke to me through a locked door and informed me that my car had already been locked inside the garage and that she was unable to access it for me. I asked why nobody had called me before locking up to give me the opportunity to collect my vehicle, but I received no satisfactory explanation.

I found this situation incredibly distressing and completely unacceptable. I rely on my car for work, and leaving me without access to it overnight caused significant inconvenience and unnecessary stress. I simply cannot understand how it was considered acceptable to lock away a customer’s vehicle without making any attempt to contact them first.

This level of customer service is extremely frustrating and falls far below what I would expect from Halfords. I hope this matter is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure other customers are not treated in the same way.

Absolutely disgusting !!!.we paid for…

9Absolutely disgusting !!!.we paid for tyres to be fitted and was told it would be done at 2 pm the following day .
At 2pm we were told the tyres hadn't arrived and was then told by 3 pm they should be there ...we had a appointment at the vets for 3.15 so I had to cancel that while we waited for the tyres .
The tyres did not turn up yet again so from 2 pm until 5 no service .I'm not blaming the men in the garage im blaming the whole of halfords system ....I rang customer services and explained everything to 3 different people and I was promised a call back yesterday after 6 pm nobody rang !!!!!. 2 customer services consultants promised to ring me back but didn't!!!!!.I was in tears that we missed the vets appointment we had paid 320 pounds for nothing !!!!.
I rang the garage this morning and explained everything and of course they said it wasn't there fault ...but every single person who works for halfords represents the company and should provide service when its been paid for ....our refund had not even been processed back to us .After some time of me getting frustrated and upset yet again a young man ordered the refund while I was on the phone because my trust had gone in the whole company I insisted on a e mail to confirm the refund had been done ...the young man did it for me thankgoodness ....then I had to ring my bank to explain everything because the money was still pending .
Does Halfords have no consideration for there customers ???? I would never recommend this company to anybody and I'm seeking compensation for the stress and time this company has caused us .we now have to wait which they said could be up to 7 days to get our money back ...why couldn't they process it for a quicker payment knowing we never had the service or tyres ???....why should we have to wait 7 days we need new tyres and don't have 310 pounds to keep dishing out to company's who don't provide the service they promised ......we are absolutely disgusted !
The update of this problem is even worse !!!!.we were sent an email to say the job was cancelled and a refund was submitted and today Halfords have taken the money again so another 310 pounds has left our account and after hours of speaking to different customer service people I was told after my husband giving me permission to sort this all out they need permission again before we get the refund .my husband csrnt use his phone at work do after all day Friday and this morning there is not one person at this disgusting company who can help us .we are now paying bank charges and its affected our lifes so much money has been lost through cancelled appointments and holding on the phone for hours trying to speak to somebody ...who tell lies !!!!...we have had no call backs like promised and been cheated out of money for absolutely nothing !!!....
I waited for my call back it never happened I had to ring again this time I spoke to rude customer services in South Africa who actually were laughing I was tried so many times to be fobbed off ...one of the excuses was the advisor had been taken by ambulance to hospital that's why she didn't ring me back ..I have never heard so much garbage I'm my life I was put on hold for 55 minutes for nothing!!!...they clearly thought I would get fed up but after 6 days of being treated disgustingly I was not going to give up ....I insisted on my problem being escalated eventually I spoke to a English person who sounded abrupt and said exactly the same as the South African advisor ...until I insisted in speaking to her manager .. ..then after 6 days speaking to 16 people and putting ourselves through this nightmare a level headed lady spoke to me . .she actually said that my husband should be proud of me insisting this problem was sorted because she herself knew what I must have been through to get to her position she as well as others are trying yo stop this long process of what customers are having to go through ....at last I managed to get compensation which we clearly deserved if not more ....but I settled for the amount as I was compl with out it had affected our whole family the tine I had spend on the phone the arguing the raising of voices the being past from pillar to post from being laughed at . .my time has come yo say goodbye to this disgraceful company if I hear the name of the place I feel nauseous .we have our refund and comensation ..

This company has gone downhill…

This company has gone downhill massively since the new Autocentre has opened in Bognor Regis.
I’ve used them for years and recently received such poor service, I was asked to come back as they didn’t have the brakes in stock. no problem, went back arrived at 08.20am as arranged I tried the door it was locked, no problem it opens at 08.30am the two guys were sitting at their desk, totally ignored me as I looked through the glass door, I tried again at 08.33am the my didn’t even look up, I knocked on the door, a guy got up from his desk, flipped the latch open and walked away, didn’t even pull the door open, just blanked me. When inside I was told the brakes hadn’t come in, I left went down to KwikFit and what a difference, polite, if you don’t mind waiting Sir we will try and get you away for 10.30am, the tyres were in stock and I was away for 10.20am.
Will I use Kwik fit again, most certainly I will.
As my vehicle is a corporate car we as a group spend many thousands of pounds each year with this company, I’ve lodged a complaint with my work hoping that they stop using Halfords again.
Absolutely shockingly bad customer service, these two guys should not be front of staff when dealing with the public!

No appointment needed as they fail to keep to it

Appointment made 9am but that appointment is not a time that is just a number because 6 other people were booked in at 9am. When I visited the branch and made my appointment I was given a time. I do not expect 6 people to be booked in at the same time as me just so you can get your £'s. In fact because you have done this I won't be back I leave a bad review and customers will read these reviews and likely go eslewhere

A very poor service.

A very poor service.

Received numerous prompts to book my motorhome in for its MOT so I booked and paid up front for a Full Service & MOT at my local centre c2 weeks in advance.

On arrival they said they couldn’t do the MOT as the vehicle is too big for the ramp, so I left it with them for the service.

I then got a call to say they couldn’t do the service either as the vehicle is too big.

A refund takes 5-7 days, meaning I have to pay for the service elsewhere while they still have my money.

I tried to complain via their Customer Services contact centre, but they were not helpful. Computer says No.

Tried multiple times to escalate through their chat service, and email, but got stuck in a loop of not actually getting anywhere, and repeated emails telling me my complaint had been closed!

I have given up.

But this is easily fixed moving forward, as I will not use them any more, as it really isn’t worth it.

The people in their retail stores are great, but the auto centres are very poor.

As for their Customer Services…….I am near speechless!!

Such a shame, as my local Halfords AutoCentre used to be really good.

I have given 1 star, as there wasn’t an option to give any less.

Absolutely would not recommend using…

Absolutely would not recommend using Halfords. They managed to damage two of my wheels, never told me about and only managed to fit 2 of the 4 tyres i paid for. A month down the line various emails with there so called customer services and i’m still left with damaged alloys and no refund for the tyres they never fitted. Absolutely terrible workmanship and customer services. Never seen nothing like this in my life

Oil change elgin

Booked a gearbox oil change at Elgin Autocentre. Phone in the morning to confirm time and it’s a automatic gearbox. Even got quotes for the automatic gear box. Arrived after a 49 minute drive. “Oh we don’t touch automatics” Absalute shambles!!!
