Greeneking Pubs Reviews 

Greene King pubs are trialling card only pubs. I am boycotting them going forward as they are discriminating against those who like the option of cash. I recommend others avoid these places until they agree that cash should be accepted

Went to our local Green Oak farm Ellesmere Port. We had the most disgusting meal ever. We both had sirloin steaks total cost £35 We could not eat the steaks as were way too tough. My partner had jacket potato which was cold inside and dry I had chips which were quite soggy. The peas were way over cooked and tasteless and the mushrooms were shrivelled to hardly anything. I booked online and requested a quiet area due to being autistic. On entering the pub my booking was not looked at and told to go anywhere i liked. After leaving a review on their site I was contacted by someone who said would look into it. Nothing came of it and found them to be very rude by ignoring my emails after replying to their questions. The staff were not entirely friendly or concerned.

Food was cold when it arrived. Taken away and still cold when returned. Manager had a very indifferent attitude to the complaint and was in no hurry to deal with it or give a refund.
The pub was Milnes Bar Rose Street Edonburgh.

Popped in for a pint with my other half after hiking ( 28/05/23 around 5pm ) got served and sat down took a few sips and then ... the strangest thing happened, the manager ( who flatly refused to give out his name ) decided that all customers without a booking can drink up and get out , as they would no longer get served and was as rude as you can get about it too ... suffice it to say that's the first and last time we go there.

The food was good for the price. Nice beer garden atmosphere. Donna was a very friendly waitress.

Picked my girlfriend up from the Whistling Goose pub in Hull tonight after she phoned me upset. I was not expecting to find out from the regulars that a staff member “Leanne” had run at her in a fit of rage to assault her. “Leanne” had to be restrained by the Kitchen Manager who managed to prevent the assault taking place. I was even more bemused that “Leanne” had clocked off and was allowed to stay in the pub to have a drink, moreover she was still in there when I arrived. By all accounts the General Manager was going to “have words” the following day. As you can imagine I was not happy that my girlfriend was not protected by the manager and the violent member of staff was allowed to remain in the pub, which incidentally is a family pub that is regularly occupied by families and children. I was quite vocal with my concerns to the General Manager and the customers that witnessed the incident voiced their own support of what I was saying. This member of staff committed a gross misconduct on work premises and should not be working for a Greene King pub ever again, particularly a family pub!! Horrible member of staff that is a danger to customers and poorly dealt with by management allowing escalation of the incident. Will not be stepping foot in the place again.

We held our grandson's end of treatment for Leukaemia celebration at the Morden Brook in Morden. The staff let us set up our event, helping us clear the tables and move chairs around, etc. They told us we could do what we needed to do to make it work for us. They were interested in our event and asked for a photo with our grandson Jackson. We had a great turn out and the staff were amazing. Even though they were short staffed and they were on the go non stop they still served everyone with a smile on their face. They did take a bit of stick later in the evening when there were queues which I thought was uncalled for, especially as they had worked so hard all day. We'd like to thank all the staff for their hard work and for helping to make our day a great success.

The food is very good value for the food served and the staff are ok. could do with making sure bar staff on matched with the amount of customers. We go in on a Friday at before 17.00 and its aways just one person on the bar and so slow to get served. And they don't have any real Ale in a Greene King owned venue. Shocking!!. But all this apart it still worth going for the value food menu.

Stayed at The Wellow in Cleethorpes.
Dated accommodation but very homely and everything worked. I've stayed in modern SA accomodation and it had a sink smaller than my hand. So think about if you moan about dated but working accommodation ;)
I had a couple of issues when I first arrived which could of been annoying but not the managers fault (Melissa) who did anything to fix any issues or errors whilst I was there. She deserves this review due to her work ethic and can do attitude.
Can't thank her enough, it's hard enough as it is when working away from.home :)
Also fantastic price here, cheapest in Cleethorpes and with a free car park.

Overstone Manor . One of the worst experiences in green king pub .
Have been waiting for a food 2 hours and didn’t get it on the end, I have asked for a manager he appeared after 20min . We got refunded.
Not recommended!

I left a brand hew drill in a greene king pub 2 month's ago, it was put in the office. 2 weeks later i asked for it back, but it wasnt there. Stolen from the managers office. Abusive bar staff. A particular bar maid goes outside or in kitchen as you walk to bar as they are too busy on their phones.Company said they are investigating but have not heard a word since my complaint. Can also pay half the price for a greene king ipa in wetherspoons.

I have been multiple times and had to carvery’s and it has been nice, but I’m not a fan of the burgers and lasagna. I thought they were horrible. Not impressed.

Such a lovely afternoon we had as a family. Peter was exceptionally helpful when choosing wine. Excellent food, top quality burgers with great friendly service. My only gripe was how cold it was in there, the air-conditioning was great, if it wasn't a cold, wet and windy day. We'll definitely come back again when we're in Bath. Thank you Peter and team.

Hungry horse is a great location ans venue in Stockport. However our visit for.an evening meal was cold, nothing as described and by the pic on the menu and the venue was dirty.

Not impressed for the price at all and from a chain.

Honestly worth taking a walk to an alternative venue unless you like tasteless cardboard food... which some people do!.

Despite visiting pub on the pond swansea twice a week for 2 yrs we find the staff excellent, food very good location excellent but on almost 20 visits green king ipa cloudy with a sour taste and had to be exchanged never known this at any pub before. Alternatives are lagers which I do not drink or abbot's which is to strong as I drive.Get your act together we are thinking about alternative pubs

God awful beer. Avoid them all

went in on Saturday,to the leather bottle wimbledon, waited ages to get our food, went back sunday for the roast and was told the minimum wait is 45 mins, christ this is a pub, not a gourmet restaurant

Got told I wasn't allowed to complain from bar manager , all because I said the Stella tasted off. I didn't ask for a replacement. Just got told to move from the bar otherwise leave after I just spent £40 on food. Isn't the first time he,s been rude and far from helpfully.
