False advertising!!!

False advertising!!!
Just received my order today and not the product they advertised or sent me a receipt for just a cheap knock off from Temu.

As previously communicated, we have issued a full refund for your order and sent you a screenshot to confirm that it was processed. Due to the high volume of orders during the busy Christmas period, we have been unable to respond to inquiries as quickly as we normally would. Please know that we are committed to providing better customer service once the holiday rush subsides, and we will ensure more timely responses moving forward.

We understand that you are upset, and we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to handle these issues as efficiently as we can. We kindly ask if you would consider updating or removing your review, as the situation has been resolved. Your feedback is important to us, and we would appreciate the opportunity to make things right.

I ordered and paid for a 6 inch…

I ordered and paid for a 6 inch chainsaw saw 2 and a half weeks ago, I immediately got my invoice from australia although they say it's 100% NZ owned, have emailed them after 2 week haven't heard anything no correspondence what so ever no dispatch notice or tracking I am beginning to think this is a scam site I spent $112.00
This order arrived tday I haven't tried it out yet, the picture and specifications on the site said it came with 2 batteries, 2 chains, safety glasses, safety gloves, only one battery was with it, which there was a place in the case for the second battery, only one chain came as well no safety glasses or gloves. The saw itself seems pretty flimsy, I would not deal with this site again, it's the first time I've ever had a problem with buying online and I've bought heaps online

Thank you for reaching out to us, and we sincerely apologize for the delay in processing and shipping your order. We understand your frustration and are committed to ensuring you receive the best service possible.

We would like to confirm that your order is on its way. We had a high volume of orders recently, and we’ve been working diligently to process each one carefully. The item you ordered is larger and more complex to ship, which requires extra care in packing. We also pay close attention to quality control to ensure that all products meet our standards before being shipped out. In some cases, this may take a bit longer, but we believe it’s important to get things right.

We understand the importance of keeping you updated, and we're sorry for not providing tracking information sooner. Please note that we have already emailed you an apology, but we will send you another update with your tracking number as soon as it is available. We assure you that we are working hard to get your product to you as quickly as possible.

Again, we apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience as we ensure the quality of your order. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We value your business and look forward to getting your product to you soon. One issue we’ve been dealing with is the delay in updating tracking numbers. Our system for updating tracking numbers manually is currently not functioning properly. It sends us an error and doesn't even trigger the expected email notifications. We're aware of this issue and have been trying to resolve it, but the problem is linked to the hosting of the website. This is why we cannot provide tracking updates until up to 14 working days. However, we expect all orders to be delivered within that time frame. If something hasn’t arrived within 14 working days, we’ll respond immediately to resolve the issue.

I spent $200 on my order

I spent $200 on my order, enticed by their claims of being a small family company in NZ with good quality products, so I didn't mind paying the bit extra. It took just over 3 weeks to arrive. Terrible packaging. All 5 of my items are nothing like their picture. The mosquito lamp dosnt even have a power button so it has to stay plugged in constantly potential fire hazard. Very light weight cheap plastic. Even the squashed box it arrived in has a totally different picture of the product inside. It does not lure mosquitos! The next item
was a description of a beautiful hand crafted men's snake ring which spins when you fidget with it, good for anxiety. What I got was completely different, the ring isn't even joined together and certainly does not spin, I saw an identical one to the one i

was sent on Temu for $3, I paid $50 for mine. The spin scrubber is not a synoshi as the picture claims it's a cheap version and can be found on Temu for $10, I paid $40. The gel pad Massager is flimsy and has no gel pad refills, it is not the noodo brand at all but some chinese cheap version it was $30, but on Temu
you can purchase identical pads..a pack of 30 for $9, the device is flimsy, the USB plug was bent on arrival so had to souce my own, it is not a Massager, more of a nerve shock stimulant that actually hurts to use. The ear cleaner device was

about $60 and arrived with instructions only written in Chinese. the attachments are not soft silicone as per description but hard plastic and do not fit the device! There is no suction! There is an identical one ( including the box packaging)
on Temu for $10. I was offered a credit voucher if I packaged everything up and posted it all back to them at my own expense and removed my review! There is a reason I buy online. Appalling business, totally dishonest and misleading, a scam. PLEASE .. WITH SO
MANY NEW ZEALANDERS STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY THIS CHRISTMAS, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE.

Thank you for your order. Every product we sell is designed specifically for our Gift Tree, and we do not have anything to do with platforms like Temu or anything of the sort. Occasionally, we ship products from New Zealand to Australia, which can take time, and we truly appreciate your patience.

If you prefer to purchase from Amazon, Temu, or other similar sites, that’s entirely up to you. However, I want to make it clear that when you buy from us, your data will never be sold. Our business is built on selling quality products, not on selling our customers' data, unlike certain overseas platforms that are driven by data collection and advertising.

While we strive to offer the best possible products at competitive prices, it’s important to understand that we can't always compete on price with other suppliers. Products sourced from overseas can vary in quality, and we always choose the best available for our customers.

Absolutely a big full on scam!!

Absolutely a big full on scam!!! Do not buy from this store. I received an item that was nothing like what I ordered, and in fact was used, and severely damaged. I contacted their customer service about it and they blamed it on the NZ post for the damages, obviously not realising I can see the packaging and under the label is a RETURNS company which proves it had been used!! Offered a store credit, no I wanted a full refund cause why would I want to buy something from the store after that experience?! This was a Christmas present I was actually excited to give to my nephew, not anymore!! Then only to realise a few days ago, they have completely scammed a lot of people and myself!!! Do not buy from here and I have reported their business/website

EDIT:
Seeing they have replied to the review to cover their mistake is hilarious, instead of actually emailing me back and explaining themselves. They are missing the whole point, which is what makes me so upset and why they seem like a huge scam, the item that I have received, is a wrong item because it is not the item that I had selected on their website, the item I selected on their website is a 2 in 1 water baseball sprinkler, helicopter one. That item is what was advertised on the website. The item i received? Is a fire hydrant water sprinkler, with only one feature. That is actually not pictured on their website.
Don’t try to blame other sources for your scam, like blaming NZ post for the damages of the packaging, when I received the package it was severely damaged, and not in a way NZ post could’ve possibly done it, it was used because the tape was so worn as if it’s been opened numerous times and there was actually stickers on the actual box that it was sourced from china. On the postage packaging, the address was “Returns Centre, Auckland”. My address label was also covering someone else’s returns label.
So coming on here replying to the review because it’s public, instead of reaching out to me via email? Because you want more people to buy from your site? You should consider your customer service, think about what you are saying, and what your advertising etc if someone asks for their money back, they absolutely have every right to want their money back after receiving something they had not brought with their own money.
You can say all you want that the item was delivered and it’s great quality blah blah, and I have an attitude etc. The fact is, you had sent out the wrong item, brought from china, had been used/damaged, and you can’t even compensate for that, instead just ignore your customers, and try every avenue to blame other sources instead of taking accountability and apologising. What could’ve you done better?
Advertised the item, and have an option for customers to select which one they wanted. Better communication with customers, replying to their emails with appropriate responses, I.e not offering a store credit when they ask for a full refund. Better packaging to protect the item from being further damaged. Taking accountability when mistakes were made, instead of putting blame on “heavy advertisement” from other companies, or NZ post.

Then you wouldn’t seem like a huge scam, and a genuine company that is “selling handcrafted, high quality items”. And also, just to add too, you guys only ever responded to me once, so I have not been “ignoring” your responses (plural) because I haven’t heard back from you at all since the first response of an email that was entirely blaming NZ post instead of actually addressing my concerns, and offering me store credit, which is not at all what I had requested. I also did reply back wanting to do the returns process like you had suggested with a full refund, haven’t heard back at all since?????
I gave you an option to send me the correct item that I had selected, or a full refund. You couldn’t either because in your eyes, you sent something so it’s been sent/delivered, and it’s NZ posts and amazons fault that it wasn’t what I expected????? Yes, I could’ve brought it from Amazon which is a well known website, not a scam, and also very good at their customer service, but I decided to buy from your website, thinking it’s “supporting a NZ business” (turns out your an international business like Temu).
Next time I will buy from Amazon instead, because at least they do refunds, package their products carefully, advertise their products properly too. And this is how you lose customers.

From an annoyed, disappointed customer that has been ignored for weeks, (no wonder why the attitude!). Do better, Gift tree.

We would like to clarify that we do not advertise online. We have already responded and confirmed that we have sent the correct product. It’s possible you were influenced by other advertisements or were expecting something that doesn’t exist, as many customers who visit Gift Tree are looking to purchase items they’ve seen advertised elsewhere.

We have sent the product as requested. However, if you are expecting different features next time, we suggest you consider purchasing from those other websites, as they are not reputable and may be scams.

You have received your product, and if you approach us with a better attitude instead of attacking us, we will be happy to assist you. However, we cannot continue to help if you persist with this behavior. We have explained everything clearly, but if you continue to ignore our responses, there is nothing more we can do.

We understand your concerns, but we want to make it clear that nothing we sell is fake. We source our products from various locations depending on the item, and each one is made with care. While we do work with suppliers from Indonesia, including a trusted partner in Bali, we also have products made right here in New Zealand and Australia, as well as in South America and other locations. Each product has its own unique story and sourcing process. We are committed to offering high-quality, genuine items to our customers.

We appreciate all feedback, as it helps us continue to improve and serve our customers better.

If there was an option of no star then would have given that.

Worst experience ever. They delivered wrong item and upon trying to contact them on this. No response at all. Tried disputing the charges on Afterpay and they responded to it saying correct item provided. So stupid people. They call themselves business but it’s a rip off business. I hope you guyz go to hell for ripping off people like this and not responded back at all. Still no contact or refund.

Do not buy from this site!

I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. Carbon copy experience. Absolute blatant false advertising of products. I even emailed to confirm if the listing was correct before purchasing. Only email they replied to was to confirm that the item and description was correct as pictured. The actual item was not as pictured, a different brand and inferior in quality. Non responsive to emails, call and texts. I have reported this matter to the Commerce Commission. Please do not buy from them.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company! Absolute blatant false advertising of products. They have branded quality products advertised on their NZ based website. In reality they order crap from china that is no where near the product you thought you were getting. I personally will be making a complaint to the Commerce Commission as should anyone else that gets scammed like this. This is false advertising, which I am sure they are well aware of. Total disregard for the laws in this country. Edit: I have since received a refund through the 'Chargeback' system via my bank, turns out not many people know about this protection so am posting here for others in the same predicament. Hope this helps.

Don’t be FOOLED like me! SCAM!!!

Don’t be like me and be FOOLED by the “good” reviews on Trustpilot.
I paid $100 for 2 small “Luvlink” lamps. Luvlink lamps are bought for families that are separated by long distance and the lamp lights up when the other one is touched. Unfortunately Gifttree sent me 2 cheap basic touch lamps from China that do nothing of the sort. They look nothing like the photos and don’t link up.
I bought these as a sentimental gift for Christmas presents for my parents to communicate with their long distance grandchildren across the globe. Unfortunately, such an expense for me to spend $100 on 2 rip off lamps means that I cannot afford to repurchase the correct lamps from a reputable retailer.
I have emailed this “family brand” multiple times and heard nothing back. They are impossible to get hold of despite advertising as a “family company”. That is not true as it is just all cheap stuff sent from China. I am extremely disappointed and urge anybody to AVOID this absolute awful fake company!

Horrible, nasty experience with Gifttree NZ

I had a horrible, upsetting experience with Gift Tree NZ. They sold me a product they didn't have in stock, have never sold, and (which I found out later), they can't even legally sell in NZ. In the process of trying to resolve it I was sworn at and threatened.

After weeks I eventually got a refund but not without being called a b-word first and being threatened with legal action. I have everything in writing.

After weeks of trying to contact them multiple times, when they eventually replied weeks later, I got a lot of excuses. Of their apparently 20 staff no-one but the one person who was away could apparently do the refund, even after weeks following the order.

I offered to keep waiting to get the product (when I thought they actually had the product / could get it), but also said I'd be happy with a refund. After more excuses the refund came through weeks later.

There was no need to swear at me or threaten me. I stayed civil and polite throughout. I hope my review helps others from going through the same experience I did, just horrible.

Edited below only, no change made above to the original review, in reply to the store's reply:

This store's reply is a perfect example of the treatment I received, except worded far mor epolitely than what they sent me.

I requested the plant as my preference, or a refund if the plant could not be supplied.

I did not refuse a refund, I reiterated my preference to receive the plant if they could source it and said I was more than happy to wait longer. At the time I believed they were just out of stock, hence asking when it might be available again.

I did not know this company never stocked the plant. I didn't know it was never in NZ and it was not legal to sell in NZ. That's why I asked. They first said it was legal, and that they never sell plants that aren't legal to sell, then later admitted it wasn't, which was after I said MPI would know if they weren't sure (which wasn't a threat, that's what MPI is there for).

So this was never a matter of a product selling out.

Then instead of taking the product off their website, they just increased the price. I was happy to pay more if it was just a pricing error which I offered to do. I genuinely just wanted the plant.

I'm a freelance writer, including writing about plants. I never said anything about writing about their business in the news.

I did ask if the plant was legally in NZ because I had mentioned the plant itself in a recent article, which would have needed a retraction if it weren't here legally, as I explained to them at the time. It was important to me that I didn't accidentally mislead anyone about the plant being in NZ.

However, at no stage did I threaten legal action or to write anything negative about their company. I stayed polite throughout. I never swore at them either, as they did to me.

I simply want to let others know about my experience. That's what this reviews website is for. Everything I've shared is a factual account of what happened to me.

If someone chooses to buy from this company knowing my experience, and now seeing the proof in your response, that's up to them.

Your previous review was flagged and deleted. Now that I see you coming back to cause more damage, it shows I wasn’t wrong in calling you that name. Everything started when you placed an order for a plant. We have many plants listed, subject to availability as stated in our terms and conditions. The person responsible for processing orders, unlike other staff, was absent for two weeks due to his father’s serious illness. During that time, we faced many challenges, and unfortunately, your plant could not be delivered. I apologized and offered you a refund.

Instead of accepting the refund, you began asking numerous questions: Why was the price higher? Was the plant out of stock? Could you find it elsewhere? Could you contact the grower? My mistake was trying to be nice and responding to you. I should have never engaged. You then began attacking our small business with emails, demanding to know why we couldn’t supply the plant. I explained that we have many products listed, but sometimes items may become unavailable based on stock. Despite offering you a refund, which you refused, you only wanted the plant.

You escalated the situation, threatening legal action and making accusations about clickbait and MPI involvement. All we did was offer a refund, processed through your credit card, which takes 5 to 10 business days. You claimed to be writing about us in the news, which is when we informed you that we would pursue legal action if you defamed us. You later denied this, but you continued to write confusing and damaging comments about the plant.

Your last review was flagged for defamation and attacks, and we have all the screenshots as proof. If you continue to harass and attempt to damage us, we will seek legal representation. Calling you the "b-word" is not a crime, and frankly, you deserved it based on your actions. We have all the evidence, and I have no regrets about what I said.
