The company is a fraudulent company and you should definitely not give your money to them, blame there drivers for a crash and take all the money and the car. STAY AWAY!!
First they send you a mail that you are rejected because your visa does not fulfill the requirements, then - without ANY change on the existing visa, suddenly a few days later they start insuring you and ask for money, while after the initial rejection it is normal to move on elsewhere.
The support is NOT AT ALL even trying to help, on the contrary, trying to subtile tell you that you're the idiot in this matter, they are right, idiot for being so stupid to actually think FBTO is a decent company, while it turns out they are just trying every shady way possible to make money, they admit 'nothing changed' on the visa, but do not at all try to understand that they cannot reject and then not reject based on the same criteria.
Obviously the moment they said they start the insurance (same hour of receiving that mail) it was cancelled, still they insist to charge those days despite the fact that it was them who did everything wrong here !
One and one only possible recommendation: STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THEM - AS FAR AS POSSIBLE

I had a ski accident in New Zealand and needed surgery and stuff and when I sent them my claim I had to wait a few weeks for a response and after that they called me and they are sending the money back to me in 5 days. It went really smooth and I’m really happy with this company!

Worst insurance company, no customer service, useless website. Signed up when I thought I might have a job and couldnt cancel as their wesbite was useless. I had to buy a document saying I have cancelled it in order to get a response which told me that my letter is not valid when i havent had this insurance for a month even and it has not yet been valid as it only was meant to start next year. Utterly useless scam of a company

They were pretty good to take my money, now they refuse service in English and they do whatever they can to make their customers miserable.
I messaged them today with a very specific and clear question. Gave them a copy of my contract. Asked the question.
Instead of doing their jobs (even if they wanted to do it in Dutch) and just answering, they kept nagging and trying to waste my time asking for information that was in the contract I screenshotted to them. They keep creating unnecessary friction whenever you try to get help from them because they clearly don't want to serve you, plus they block messages on WhatsApp so you can only use screenshots to translate as you're unable to copy what they say to Google Translator App normally as you would with any normal private conversation.
NOBODY would speak to me in ENglish, pretty rude too

No customer service. Unacceptable. I'm changing the insurer at the earliest convenience. I'm being charged twice for the same month and can't even talk about with anyone. This is how scammers work. They should pay me for my lost hours on the phone.
Stay away from this company
I was a client of FBTO since 2017, having insured three different vehicles with this company (with zero accidents or claims). Due to covid and winter, I decided to temporarily stop my car registration insurance in December 2021. When I tried to renew the insurance in May 2022, I was unexpectedly denied. First I had to wait for 5 workdays with no answer, then I got further delays due to additional questions about car's APK (which was due to expire .. guess why I needed insurance?) and finally I got denied due to (car/finance-unrelated) legal issues from 2018, which were never an issue with FBTO client acceptance in the past. Due to this inconsistency and time wasted, I had to look for another insurer.
Would give this company a ZERO star if that was possible! I can't wait to leave this insurance company come January. They are taking too many chances with us. Please don't waste your time and money here. For Dutch standard, this is low and close to being called a scam! Apparently, they don't speak English on WhatsApp.

I loved this company at first, but after the today I don't want anything to do with them anymore. I've been insured with them for 3 years, for my car. I told everyone about them, my parents even wanted to switch after 15 years because of my experience. But after I got rid of my car, there occurred an issue. I didn't have some financial luck so I got rid of the car. I sold it to a junkyard because I couldn't wait for a fine or a batter price. I always paid my insurance but after I cancelled my insurance they took an extra month. Seeing I was In need of money, hence selling it I refunded the money. Few weeks later I get a payment notice. Which I ignored because I took back the money they weren't supposed to take. Again few weeks later they called and told me I need to pay them because they refunded the money. I said I did it. They said we did it too. And they were right. I was in aware that they as well refunded me some time later after me. I told them I will pay back plus interest but not yet since I don't have the money yet. But I did, a bit than a month later. And now they don't want to insure me even when my finances are better than before. I always payed my insurance. The only issue was their mess up of sending me money without my knowledge and then demanding it back. Even when I paid it back as soon as I was able. Now they say they and none of their other companies are gonna be able to insure me until may be next year. So far for empathy, understanding and loyalty. non existent. Just greedy since this company doesn't look at the facts, only to last encounter.

After being an FBTO (and parent Achmea) client for 5+ years with insuring different vehicles, a recent internal policy change (that had absolutely nothing to do with my vehicle and/or finance history) has made me uninsurable with FBTO (and Achmea). Moreover, all my insurance records at Independer have suddenly gone missing, so I can't even leave feedback there. Well then, my internal policy suggests that this behavior constitutes for a 1 star review. Enjoy!

They cancelled my car insurance because my bank account was blocked for one week in January and even though they could take the money in February and in March, they just cancelled it and I received no calls.
I made a complaint giving them the proof of why my bank account was blocked for 1 week I even had a police report, but they still said it’s their policy and they will just cancel it.
They just care about the money. Horrible service!
I have been a client of FBTO for 5 years. I called them to ask questions about some costs and they don't even have the option for customer support in English. The answers that I got were not helpful at all. In 2022 I will switch to another health provider.
I’ve spend now at least 20 times 20 minutes + hours on the chat/phone/mail because FBTO has a bug which they don’t fix and just ask me all the time to activate my account again, which leads to an error page. They’re asking their customers to invest time and energy over and over again for an issue at their site. Frustrating without any reason. I didn’t even ask for an new account. But they act like it’s a wish and a problem at my site.

I had 21 claim-free years, they said they give maximum discount until 17 years and always showed that on their system. I had small parking repair, I called them before the repair, they said it won't affect my claim-free years but I saw that they deducted to 9 years and transferred to Roy-data.
I saw that only when I sold my car and went to different insurer. I lost all my discounts now.
I was with them more than 7 years, I will also stop my other insurances.
