I have been using Evernote for over ten years; it is a vital note-taking tool for me.
Very powerful and versatile - still learning all its functionality
I don't use it nearly as much as I could, but the tags, the versatility of notes, the text and image control really help with the types of quick notes I like to make.
AI Capabilities & Openness
The integration of AI capabilities still shows a significant gap between early-stage content generation capabilities and today’s Agentic AI agents and AI-powered knowledge management products. Another key aspect is openness: the ability to provide MCP and plugins, and to embrace AI ecosystems such as Codex and Claude.

I am not satisfied with the design of the whole app. the features are getting better and better but the still design remain old and not look good.
The big green jumbo! An absolute gem.
Absolutely brilliant! I've been using Evernote for years now. Private use, not work. My whole life is recorded here. All of those documents from 50 years ago! easy to search and find. I can set things up to suit the way I think. The new AI features I'm learning look like they will be of great benefit.
The big green elephant comes highly recommended by me! Thanks, team.
Ease of use and search function.
Pompous Company That Doesn't Care About Users
Evernote WAS a great product. Then it was bought and the company decided to abandon certain key aspects. For example, sharing notebooks. There's been a bug in the process for many years. You never really know what features will be included, because they add and remove features. Only no one really asked for the features they add and they clearly do no market research or interact with their users. They also refuse to respond to any users, despite that fact that they bill me $250 a year! They literally have a policy that if you have an issue, look at our Q & A page, or drop dead. Terrible, terrible, terrible...but worse, so inexcusable!

I've used Evernote for a decade plus
I've used Evernote for a decade plus. It used to be my favorite app. Now it's literally a dread to use it. They keep adding "features" that I don't want but make it clunky and slowly they take away everything I care about. The problem is that I have decades of notes, so it feels like I'm being held hostage. It's expensive too, way too expensive for what it actually does.
It's a great tool for my daily life
It's a great tool for my daily life. I cannot image my life without Evernote.
Very Useful, Very Bloated, Very Expensive...
I have used Evernote for (I guess...) 15 years, and was always a big fan. Over time, it grew from a fantastic free, simple, easy to use multiplatform application, to what it is today, slower, full of features I will probably never use, and most unfortunatley, very expensive. This will most likely be the last year I pay close to $250 for a subcription, and already started to explore alternatives...
Some great features but great frustrations also
Some great features but great frustrations. Lot of good features for sure, but some things that really get in the way. When I put Evernote on my desktop, I immediately saw that the hot keys I use while working in Excel were now connected to the Evernote hotkeys that got in the way of my work. The fact that I had to go in and manually turn off all hot keys rather than just being able to disable them all, or have a default where I can choose what to Enable, was not convenient or a happy thing. Because it effected my work so much, I had to take time to figure out how to go into Evernote and manually turn all the hot keys off. I've had issues being able to get the app to work on my phone for a year, so now I just use the desktop version, which I use way less often since I have a lot of notes on the go I would take, when I'd just have my phone.
use Evernote for everything
use Evernote for everything. it's my categorically-organized brain. Say no more.
My go-to for
Evernote has been my go-to note taking software for over 12 years. What has consistently kept me is the ease of the interface and the quick search speed. The constant feature updates have only made it better. I'm a big fan of the templates and the outlook integration.
Just go away !
Since the bought from bending spoon...this great software became a true piece of...
Go away. I'm searching how to export efficiently all my 15 000 notes (I was one of the first customers more than 13 years ago) and I'm going away. Period.
literally love this app
literally love this app. I used it back in 2010 for my first undergraduate and now using it for my graduate degree in a health science field. It does so much and may take some time to learn the little things, but very worth it. I take notes faster and can actually study neat notes. It has embedded links, ability to create various notebooks, and a type of ai technology i use to look up definitions or concepts.
The app used to be very fast and…
The app used to be very fast and seamless to use but along the way it just got more bloated and hogged down.
Powerful core, but bloated and overpriced
Evernote remains the gold standard when it comes to note organization, tagging, and search. The way you can structure and retrieve information is genuinely unmatched, and that keeps me coming back despite my frustrations.
But those frustrations are real. Over the years, Evernote has piled on features that have nothing to do with note-taking, like task management, and more recently a wave of AI functionality that I didn't ask for. Each addition seems to come with a higher price tag, making this one of the most expensive note-taking tools on the market. It no longer feels like a focused product.
What also baffles me is the lack of native Windows on ARM support. If you're running an ARM-based laptop, you're stuck with the standard x86 version running through emulation, which is noticeably slow. For a premium product at a premium price, this is simply not good enough.
The bitter irony is that I know there are cheaper, leaner alternatives out there that would actually run better on my hardware. The only thing keeping me from switching is vendor lock-in. Years of notes, tags, and organizational structure are not easy to migrate. Evernote knows this, and I can't help feeling that their pricing strategy reflects it.
