I love Evernote, but you are heading in only one direction—towards AI and market trends—while neglecting fundamental pillars... If you want to know my opinion, send an email.
Love using Evernote!
I've been using Evernote for a long time, and so far, it hasn't failed me. Our Palawan News team uses it too for preparing and editing stories. It also has an AI now, which can help us straighten stories. It's far from being perfect, but at least it's already here.
Evernote has finally made its product…
Evernote has finally made its product more useful again. After using the old Evernote platform years ago, they had an update that rendered the platform useless to me for about 3 years. But with thousands of notes, documents, and resources saved, I kept my account for reference. Finally, I can use the system quickly and reliably. It's still a bit slow to start both on PC and iphone, but I love the intigrations with gmail, web browsers, across multiple devices etc. I save work, personal, and life in this app.
I have been a Evernote user since 2008 - still here - but loyalty is waning
I have been a Evernote user since 2008, so I have 18 years of notes (over 14,000 total notes currently and I delete notes regularly that are short term reminders, etc.) on platform. I am STILL an advocate for Evernote. I actually have its use exempted / white listed at my company of over 1,400 people and I am the sole reason for the exemption. I CHOOSE to use it, and pay for it PERSONALLY, (Evernote Personal account and I use several GBs / add ~ 200+ notes most months) over options offered by my employer for free. I currently have Evernote syncing over multiple PCs, an iPhone, an Android phone, a tablet and use the cloud interface some.
That said, Evernote has become top heavy, it is clunky now, and the basic (non AI) search is about worthless now. I will put in search keywords I know are the notes I am looking for and it will find numerous notes that do NOT have that keyword. Search in Evernote feels like throwing dart and hoping to hit the right note.
The AI tool is far better then expected and does an excellent job at extracting text from images. 11 out of 10 on that feature.
The Android app does not function as well as the iPhone app and I think that is due to lack of commitment from Evernote.
Overall this feels like software that is trying to evolve to stay relevant, but the thing that made it great was its core functionality. Those seems to be ignored now. I would rather Evernote WORK then get a new feature to share with a team or XXX which may help some but for me is worthless.
I would like to see Evernote offer a package without all the team and sharing options that does the core functionality of efficient note taking, that syncs across multiple platforms, with a functional search, and a well featured AI translator.
I have also determined that if there is not some improvement in core functionality I am going to move my notes to another platform and discontinue my membership in 2027. So, still loyal but Evernote has to get better or I am going to move to something else.

I've been using Evernote for almost 15 years and despite the ups and downs, it has always done the job it was created for which is to be efficient with note taking.

I am a Principal DevOps engineer and used Evernote for the past 4 ears. Great tool for taking notes
Expensive walled garden
I am 10yrs+ user. The app now feels like a classic walled garden.
It does not offer a reasonable API, MCP server, CLI, or other practical ways to integrate it into modern AI workflows. This makes it difficult to use the app in any serious automation setup or broader AI-enabled process.
It is also really expensive, while offering less flexibility. Moving to Obsidian
Experience is inconsistent
Experience is inconsistent. Evernote is among all the paid service/app that I reported the most problems.
The perfect balance for work and personal life
I’ve been using Evernote for a while now and I’m absolutely loving it. The application has become my go-to tool for organizing everything. Thanks to its fantastic user experience, it allows me to effortlessly structure my work content alongside my personal notes. It’s reliable, intuitive, and keeps my mind clutter-free. Even considering the price, it is definitely worth it for the value it provides!

I have been using Evernote for over ten years; it is a vital note-taking tool for me.
Very powerful and versatile - still learning all its functionality
I don't use it nearly as much as I could, but the tags, the versatility of notes, the text and image control really help with the types of quick notes I like to make.
AI Capabilities & Openness
The integration of AI capabilities still shows a significant gap between early-stage content generation capabilities and today’s Agentic AI agents and AI-powered knowledge management products. Another key aspect is openness: the ability to provide MCP and plugins, and to embrace AI ecosystems such as Codex and Claude.

I am not satisfied with the design of the whole app. the features are getting better and better but the still design remain old and not look good.
The big green jumbo! An absolute gem.
Absolutely brilliant! I've been using Evernote for years now. Private use, not work. My whole life is recorded here. All of those documents from 50 years ago! easy to search and find. I can set things up to suit the way I think. The new AI features I'm learning look like they will be of great benefit.
The big green elephant comes highly recommended by me! Thanks, team.
Ease of use and search function.
Pompous Company That Doesn't Care About Users
Evernote WAS a great product. Then it was bought and the company decided to abandon certain key aspects. For example, sharing notebooks. There's been a bug in the process for many years. You never really know what features will be included, because they add and remove features. Only no one really asked for the features they add and they clearly do no market research or interact with their users. They also refuse to respond to any users, despite that fact that they bill me $250 a year! They literally have a policy that if you have an issue, look at our Q & A page, or drop dead. Terrible, terrible, terrible...but worse, so inexcusable!

I've used Evernote for a decade plus
I've used Evernote for a decade plus. It used to be my favorite app. Now it's literally a dread to use it. They keep adding "features" that I don't want but make it clunky and slowly they take away everything I care about. The problem is that I have decades of notes, so it feels like I'm being held hostage. It's expensive too, way too expensive for what it actually does.
It's a great tool for my daily life
It's a great tool for my daily life. I cannot image my life without Evernote.
