Poor customer service in-store and email
Poor customer service in-store and via email. Having sold a used incorrect item in correct packaging by Justin D in London, after investigation deemed that they didn't and wouldn't sell a used item, but the camera's wouldn't lie if they wanted to check. Avoid at all cost! Stick to Condor Cycles and Balfe Bikes.

Despite paying for enhanced delivery my parcel arrived 4 days later and was left by Evrie at a house three-quarters of a mile away

One star because that is the minimum, avoid at all cost.
When i collected bike after a pre delivery service the rear mudguard was fixed on with a tie wrap.
13 months later one stancion of the front suspension forks has pitted chrome and they tried to pass it to Suntours telling me the warranty was with Suntours, not the retailers responsibility, this is legally incorrrect.
Totally unhelpful,dodging their responsibilities.
Shop elsewhere, anywhere will be better than Evans Cycles
Avoid
Avoid. I have been waiting for 4 months for a refund on a bike purchased in October. Only contactable via a chat function. I’ve been through that 3 times and still no refund. I’ve tried today and the chat function isn’t available/there is no other way of contacting the company. Terrible approach to customer service
Great shopping experience
Great shopping experience. Item delivered well ahead of scheduled time.

I bought two items of clothing from Evans Cycles in Chelmsford via their on-line sale to be delivered to their shop. Whilst walking away from the shop, with my husband, we realised that they had over-charged us. Went back to the shop and they cancelled order, after a phone call to customer services, and started the order again with the correct payment. I was told that the refund would be in my account with 2 to 5 working days and received an email confirming this. After 6 working days and no refund received I contacted Customer Services by email, no telephone number to call which I would have preferred, and was dealt with very promptly. I was told to go back to Evans Cycles, Chelmsford, and they would arrange the refund to my credit card account. The staff were very apologetic at the oversight and the refunds carried out. A bit of an inconvenience but all worked out in the end. All shop staff and Customer Service staff very professional.
Thank you
A satisfied customer

Shocking customer service
Some stuff delivered well and on time but some stuff not. Company use Evri as a delivery service even with their reputation being as awful as it is. Been told they have no control over who delivers.
Lost three of my packages
Took over a week to even send them out again
Have no customer service to phone
Customer service email workers clearly have no idea what they’re talking about as I was told I’d get an email confirmation for my items being re sent to then find out that the guy had no idea that they don’t send email confirmation on resends.
I had to send over 10 emails to this company to get it sorted
Spent over £1000 on the site and still can’t use my bike because of some bike lights
Now my package I’m pretty sure has been lost a second time, over a week and a half after the original package was sent. Raised the issue with them on a Monday they didn’t send it out till a Thursday so I’m yet again just left sat waiting the whole weekend because Evans doesn’t work weekends, must be nice for some. Now I can’t get to work at all so I’ll have to take time off, thanks for that eh?
Final update, they tried THREE separate times to re send out my package for it to be stolen by Evri every single time. According to them they can’t chose another courier so I’m out the money. They refunded the original £100 to my cycle scheme after over a month from when the first parcel was sent. Obviously no one wants to take any responsibility for the over £100 of my own money I had to spend to get what Evans couldn’t manage to get delivered to me and spent over £200 on public transport in that time. The whole point in the cycle scheme was to make my life easier not harder. So now I’ve got my £100 cycle scheme voucher I don’t need and will still have to pay for. I’m out £400 but no one cares. Avoid this company at all costs.
I’m the lucky one it was just some lights a lock and gloves, people have had whole bikes go missing and had to wait months for a solution, sometimes people have had to get cycle scheme involved because they’ve tried to say it’s Evris responsibility when that’s not how it works. Evans contract is with Evri, mine was with Evans. They don’t care. They don’t know what there talking about and it took over 60 emails over a month to get it sorted. Shocking.

Have to pay shipping charge regardless whether collected or posted.
High shipping cost considering slow delivery times and using worst courier “Evri”
Evans unable to sell me a bike...2 weeks waiting and it's lost
Bought a bike in the sale, expecting a good deal and reliable service from a reputable company. I was given a delivery date, but then received conflicting emails from Arrow XL and Evri about who was actually shipping it. Evri updated me this past Saturday and said they were waiting for the parcel from Evans and would update me in 48 hours...then nothing.
I contacted Evans via online chat (no phone support) and was told my bike is lost. There was no explanation or effort to investigate how it went missing, and my only options were a refund or re-delivery, with low stock meaning the order most likely would be cancelled.
For a company that sells bikes, this is inexcusable. Extremely disappointed and has put me off ever buying from Evans.
Very pleased
Good products, good price, as described and delivered on time. Overall very pleased
Getting a bike delivered to store was…
Getting a bike delivered to store was absolutely infuriating. There were many false alarms "your bike has arrived"... It hadn't.
However, Owen from customer support was brilliant throughout and was the only person throughout the whole process who seemed to have an ounce of common sense.
If it weren't for Owen, it would be a one star review. If it were a review solely for Owen, it would be 5 stars.
Don't use chat if you want any resolutions
Inexistent chat customer service. Good luck if you need to contact them via chat.
UPDATE: Finally got through via email but not fast enough to update my order.
Happy grandchildren
I was looking for a couple of uncomplicated 20" wheeled bikes for my grandchildren. I wrongly imagined that Evans would be very expensive but they stocked some basic Universal bikes that were precisely what I needed and at a sensible price. I ordered them late Thursday and they were delivered the following Tuesday morning. Great bikes at a great price.

paid extra to get my order on a certain day (today 15th Feb) and the evri courier hasn’t been able to deliver the parcel when i’ve been home all day.
nothing on the ring bell at all.
email at 11:05 saying it would be delivered between 12-13.
12:23 for an email saying sorry we can’t deliver it today and the parcel will come on the 17th

If I could give zero stars I would. This store thinks because it is in the centre of London it can charge ridiculous prices and extort customers.
I took my bike in to buy a new chain and the mechanic told me to leave my bike. I went down at the end of the day to see if the work was done. The mechanic said he hadn’t started but he would be FIVE minutes.
When I picked up the bike I was charged for the new chain PLUS A SERVICE OF MY BIKE THAT I DIDNT ASK FOR AND WASNT TOLD ABOUT. When I complained about this they said it had to be done and this was the labour.
You cannot charge customers for services they haven’t agreed to (or even know about). Additionally what £35 service can be done in 5 minutes. An absolute farce.
No apology. Just a charge for something I was never told about.
Serious Safety Recall Mishandled
Extremely disappointing and frankly alarming experience with Evans Cycles.
I purchased a bike last May, which was later subject to a safety recall due to a potentially dangerous fork defect. Evans Cycles never notified me. I only discovered the recall by chance, despite the manufacturer explicitly advising riders to stop using the bike immediately because the forks can fail suddenly and cause serious injury.
Unknowingly, I had been riding a potentially unsafe bike for three months.
Trying to resolve the issue has been equally frustrating. Customer service is effectively locked behind a web chat where representatives are unable to provide meaningful assistance or a phone number to speak to someone. I was told the issue was “raised” and that I would be contacted by email, but given the safety implications, the lack of urgency is deeply concerning.
For a company selling safety-critical products, this level of communication and support is unacceptable. I expected professionalism and responsibility. What I received was silence and indifference.
