Flew to Croatia
Flew to Croatia, flight connecting from Zurich delayed by 4 hours, pilot stated due to ground operations. Flight going home to LAX delayed, missed connection in Vienna. Croatia service booked new flight, many connections and lost our premium seats. They stated that Lufthansa had to make upgrade when we arrived in Frankfurt. Got to Frankfurt, they stated Croatia air had to change our tickets. This is maddening, and how do they get away with this lack of organization, and communication. Please train your staff to know their policies! We are treated like cattle. Take lessons from Iberia Air, wonderful service and comfort.
Flight cancelled at the last minute
Flight cancelled when we were ready for boarding with no explanation whatsoever. Customer service akin to medieval torturing device. Avoid at all costs.
Stay Away from This Airline for Your Own Sanity
I wish I had done my research before booking with this awful airline. My wife and I flew from Milan (MXP) to Split (SPU) on September 22, and my bag never arrived. That obviously upset us, but we followed the procedure, filed a PIR report with Split Lost and Found (which is right in the luggage pickup area), and they told us that normally, when this happens, the luggage is sent the next day. So, we thought, "Okay, let's try to enjoy the trip, and tomorrow we'll have our things." How naive we were.
As soon as you deal with their abysmal customer service, you realize there's no one who cares enough to help. They basically say, "It's not in our hands now; take it up with Lost and Found." When you talk to Lost and Found, they throw the ball back at the airline. There's a complete lack of communication and cooperation.
The situation was so badly mismanaged that not only did the bag not arrive the next day on another flight, but they also told me it wouldn't be sent until September 26—four days later—to Split. So, we were forced to spend our entire stay at a beach destination without appropriate clothes. We had to buy essentials and file a report in hopes that they might reimburse us (and the reviews I’ve read from others aren’t encouraging).
Imagine spending hours of your short vacation in a shopping mall looking for clothes. You might think, "Okay, not a big deal," but try shopping for beach clothes at the end of September when stores are selling autumn/winter clothes. We were there to enjoy the last bit of warm weather. On top of that, I was calling and emailing the airline and Lost and Found every day to check on the bag, with barely any response.
By September 26, the day they had originally said the bag would be sent to Split, we were no longer in Split. I had already asked them two days earlier to send the bag to Madrid, our next destination, instead. Well, not only was the bag not sent to Madrid or Split on the 26th as promised, but it was still in Milan. Then, on September 27, to my utter shock and rage, the bag was sent to Split, even though I had clearly informed them days earlier that we would no longer be there. I was back to calling and emailing every contact I could find. You can write to their CEO or the person in charge of baggage tracing—it doesn’t matter. No one will reply or give you any useful information. They are completely useless.
I got more help from Iberia (which had nothing to do with the case) with the PIR number than from Croatia Airlines.
The bag finally arrived at Madrid Barajas Airport on September 28 at around 12:30 AM. It was sent on an Iberia flight (they’re the heroes in this story). I was told that once the bag arrived in Madrid, someone would call me to arrange delivery. That never happened, so I spent the last day of my trip calling Croatia Airlines. No one answered, and I emailed them a dozen times with no response. It was a Saturday—they were probably resting without a care in the world. So, I didn’t get my bag on the 28th.
On September 29, I had my flight back home. I went to the airport earlier than planned, hoping to somehow find my bag. Still no answer from Croatia Airlines. It was Sunday—they were still resting, I assume. I explained the ordeal at the information kiosk at Barajas, and they let me into the arrivals area where the lost luggage kiosks are. Since the bag was sent on an Iberia flight, I went to their desk with all the details. They were a bit impressed with my bag’s journey. It had been to Milan, Vienna, Split, Zagreb, and finally Madrid. With some patience and tracking of all the bag codes assigned during that journey, they were finally able to locate it.
So, after an entire trip without my belongings, I was only able to get my bag back at the airport right before checking in to fly home. My trip was ruined, and the best-case scenario is that they will reimburse me for a few hundred dollars worth of clothes. Meanwhile, I spent much more on flights and nice hotels, only to end up dealing with Croatia Airlines’ incompetence.
Please be aware of the type of company you’re dealing with if you decide to fly with Croatia Airlines. If you ever run into an issue (lost bags, delays, etc.), good luck. No one will be there to actually help you, and they will make the minimum effort, if any, on your behalf.
Truly terrible service
Truly terrible service. I missed by connecting flight because the flight departed late. The flight attendants refused to make an announcement to allow those with tight connection to deboard early.
They didn't inform me that my flight is…
They didn't inform me that my flight is canceled and that I can get another flight 4 hours later. I spend 4 hours on airport because of that and just one phone call would be enught, but I guess it is too much to ask.
Avoid at all costs - miserable, filthy and overpriced
We’ve been traveling for 24 days on various airlines including Emirates and BA and Qantas across Europe who have been amazing. Then we couldn’t get a flight from Split to London with anyone other than Croatia Airlines. Expensive for a 2.5 hr flight at $300 each. Full, cramped, and filthy plane. Only given water and some crappy crackers to eat. They offered nothing else and provided no service whatsoever. Rude, miserable staff at check in desk, never again! Avoid if you can!
Huge lack of passenger security!!!
What a day! So i was supposed to fly from split to munich in the morning at 8. they usually using this 50 year old bombardier planes.i fly this every week due to bussiness. So we were boarding. Pilot said we habe technical problems. Everybody unboarding and waiting; after an hour everybody board again; still problems and everybody unboard again. After 1.5 hours everybody board again. Already 5 hours delay. So we were taking off. After 10 minutes and a few miles we had problems again and returned to split. Then everybody had to go out the airport and change tickets. Now finally i fly via frankfurt to munich but only because i have a full flex bus ticket. I will hopefully arrive after 15 hours in munich. I can assure that since 30 years flying around the world i never experienced such a huge lack of unprofessional handling and rude behavior. Not speaking of the really missing responsibilities about passenger security. I will try to avoid now Croatian airlines as good as possible. They are by far one of the worst airlines i flew with. I hope my story help you deciding not to fly with them and chosing other options. My best Tom Novy

HUGE delays in flights
Flight from Rome to Split (OU381 23rd July 2024) - 3 hours delayed!!!!
Now the flight from Split to Frankfurt (OU412 25th July 2024) is already 1 hour late!! I have a connecting flight!!!!
Awful awful experience - if coming to Split has to be through Croatian Airlines, I would rather not be coming back at all
Worst Airline and Customer Service
Worst Airline and Customer Service. My Place was cancelt due overbooking. I was Not informed. I was told i would get 250 Euros. I am Wartung since 6 weeks. No Money and no reply.
Horrible
Horrible. For no reason cancelled my return ticket, which I paid for in full, 130 Euros. The same day the wanted to charge me 270+ for a seat that I paid for before, and I didn't get a refund for my "lost seat". I have never seen someone so scummy.
As someone who is not a frequent flier…
As someone who is not a frequent flier and is petrified of planes, I must say that I had an amazing experience with Croatia Airlines. First, on the flight going back home on 21st May, there was a slight delay because of a storm above the city we were supposed to land and the pilot and crew were very professional and apologized multiple times even though it was of course not their fault. The cabin crew was extremely professional, polite, and efficient, they were always smiling and helpful. A huge thank you to one of the stewardesses who helped me calm down by talking with me (it was my first night flight and there was some turbulence so I was really scared), she was very pleasant and patient and helped explain everything that was going on so I could feel safe because she knew I don't have much experience flying. Overall the whole process with the airline went smoothly and efficiently. I will fly again with this airline for sure. A huge thank you to everyone at Croatia Airlines for helping me overcome my fear of flying a bit and making the process a wonderful experience.
They lost my baggages
They lost my baggages, they didn’t answer my phone, terrible service, not helpful
As many others have stated, they lose bags
As many others have stated, terrible customer service when they are the ones who have lost my bag! No correspondence, they hung up the phone on me multiple times, they outsource the bag search to others who couldn't care less, are incompetent or who are grossly overworked (the bag deliverer) because the airline seems to lose bags regularly. Somehow on a direct flight bag went to wrong country and took days to find! No apology, no compensation, not their problem. Just avoid like the plague.
First and last time I book a flight…
First and last time I book a flight over CroAirlines, They cancel both of my flights not even sending offer with new flight! Needed to call company to find out what is going on, after they forget to send e-mail with new flight details and needed to call again , after same with flight back, they let 3 seat plane in offer to choose seats and pay and over night you there going in small 2 seat plane, what they realize moment before we fly is broken and have issue, we missed connected flight thanks to this and in fear flying in same small loud plane! We have trauma after all this, I love to fly and do not have fear of flying but after this trauma after paying expensive straight flight they sell some cheap connected flight and put you in broke plane, I will rather walk from one side of europe to visit home than to book a flight over them..
A terrible airline.
A terrible airline.
They lost our baggage, didn't answer their phones, didn't reply to our emails and ruined our vacation.
To make it even worse, they only wanted to refund 50 percent of the costs we had incurred, which was entirely their own fault.
No food and drink service
I give them 2* as the 2 hour flight from London Heathrow to Split was ok, nice cabin crew and apart from the free cup of water and tiny bag of crunchy snacks there was a full drinks service (tea, coffee, alcoholic and non alcoholic) and snacks available for purchase. But on flight back to London yesterday (2 1/2 hours so plenty of time) we got the free water/snack early in the flight but no drink or food service whatsoever, unbelievable! I’m sure most of the passengers on this full flight would have appreciated the option to buy a drink or something to eat! I was seated at the rear of the plane and the 2 cabin staff members were just twiddling their thumbs! At the end of the flight I voiced my opinion rather loudly (which didn’t go down well with some nearby passengers but I’m sure I was saying out loud what most other people were thinking! Even the UK low cost airlines all provide a full food drinks/food service, so come on Croatia airlines this is not good enough 😡
Brussels-Zagreb-Split
Flew Brussels-Zagreb-Split in business. Crew very nice, flights were all late but I was able to make my connection. The food on board is nice and cute and Croatian but super tiny. And the lounge in Split has no food at all (nuts and those wrapped croissants...).
Few very bad experiences over the years
I'm really sick of dealing with them. They have cancelled so many flights over the past few years and they don't even bother to notify you of this.
Totally unreliable and extremely unprofessional. Just a terrible company to deal with, I hope I will not be doing the same in the future and would not recommend anyone to even try it.
We arrived at Dubrovnik airport…
We arrived at Dubrovnik airport yesterday. One luggage was missing. We made a claim. They deliver us the missing luggage today in Montenegro. Such a good customer service.thank you🤗🤗
