Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 60 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently received unexpected billing letters and aggressive phone calls demanding payment for debts they did not recognize, never incurred, or had already completely settled elsewhere. People found the overall customer service extremely frustrating, frequently describing staff members as unhelpful, unprofessional, rude, and nearly impossible to reach when trying to resolve disputes. Though some individuals faced very stressful encounters, a small group of reviewers were happy with specific staff members who listened carefully and successfully cleared incorrect charges from their records. These helpful representatives provided reassuring assistance to customers seeking clarity on complicated account situations.

I have been on the website to contact…

I have been on the website to contact them because I am unable to pay online as the credit style reference they gave to me is not recognised on the payment site. They have not replied to my email and just sent me a red letter saying it will go to debt collectors. It's from my time with Bristol Energy and I had paid in full.

Credit Style Limited

The company, without any notice, sent us a bill for over a thousand Pounds for 1 months usage of Bristol Energy gas/electric back in Jan 22 when they went bust.
Their figures were based on "estimates" and were so ridiculously high that, especially for electricity we STILL haven't reached their figure 17 months later!
I rang them up and asked them to send me a revised bill. The company says they can't do that, so I said "see you in court".
DO NOT PAY THESE SCAM ARTISTS.

Study the back of the letter

CST Law..On the reverse of the letter it states Bristow and Sutor are handling your file. Ring Bristow and Sutor as they havent got your file in processing. Me and my mate just got it confirmed by CST law in an email by a CST paralegal that they have no connection to the ticket issue through Bristow & Sutor. So Report them to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for overly aggressive communications and Dishonesty. Good luck.

This company is absolutely crap

This company is absolutely crap
My previous energy supplier People's Energy went bust and I was transferred to British gas. I received a fantasy final bill which was totally incorrect and I was backed up by British Gas with meter readings. Next thing I know I have Credit Style chasing me. Despite providing all the evidence including meter readings, bills and contact from British Gas it still goes on.
I have even had the energy ombudsmen backing up my case, but still they chase.
Considering legal representation now because nothing works.
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Customer service is absolutely diabolical.
They are blinkered and just want money.
Had lots of threats and now the latest is a CCJ and additional costs.

I’m in the same boat as most people regarding an outstanding debt to peoples energy! I never set up an account with them. Left voicemails and emails I’ve had no response, today I’ve had another letter claiming to have attempted to call me back! Not true! Just a total waste of my time and energy

Scam letter from CST Law

Would give zero stars if possible. I too received a letter from CST LAW, addressed to ‘The Occupier’, demanding money for Peoples Energy (Supply) Ltd. I have never had a People’s Energy account and if I had then surely they’d know my name? Tried calling but gave up, then managed to find an actual email address and emailed them. They called me today, on my mobile number despite the fact I never gave them my number?! I Moved into this rented address in august - PE went bust in 2021!! My British Gas account is in credit and they advised this was a complete scam. The CST person on phone tried to get all sorts of personal info from me and asked if I was contacting to settle the account despite me telling her 3 times that the account is not mine and nothing to do with me! When I asked for evidence of the debt in my name she quickly said they’d close the account but ‘can’t guarantee PE won’t open it again at some point? THEY WENT BUST in 2021!!! CST are scum scammers, if you get a similar letter report them to trading standards and the financial authorities!

Chasing me for money for gas *not*…

Chasing me for money for gas *not* supplied by a defunct energy company called Peoples Energy, despite the fact that I proved by email from my current suppliers that they were the ones providing me the energy during the dates in question.

Scam artists. Dont pay them a penny.

What happened when you refused to pay?

I'm in the same boat as most other reviewers and obviously have the dilemma of should I pay them to get them off my back or refuse to pay.
I see many reviewers have said they were refusing to pay but could they please post an update to Trustpilot. What happened next? Were you taken to Court? If so what did the Court decide? Or did they just stop chasing you?
Just thinking that the experiences of those that have already suffered at the hands of this obnoxious set up would help those just beginning the long sorry journey with them
