I generally like my Cowboy bike, but I’m giving it 3 stars because of two disappointing issues. I bought the bike about a year ago (or slightly less), and after just one month of use, the pai... See more

Very comfortable and fun bike.
Only minor issues (non longer rear Light for a while…) and few issues to add accessoires on my C2 but I found solutions.

Bike is great when it works well. In my two years of owning a C3 it has been broken more than half of the time.

It’s way over a year now and the company still haven’t collected the bike or given a refund. We are over a thousand pounds in deficit no bike no refund nothing. Please please don’t buy a bike from this company they are crooks. The bike was recalled as dangerous which is recorded on the government website and this company is still selling. DONT BUY FROM THEM YOU WILL LOSE £££.

Lennart did a great job providing great insights, answering all my questions. Testride was awesome. Overall, I really appreciated the opportunity. Thanks a million, team Cowboy.

We paid for a bike in October 2024. It was delivered, broken and unrideable, in May 2025. We then spent the rest of 2025 trying to arrange for replacement parts which were promised but not delivered. We returned the bike in March 2026 and have spent the last 2 months trying to extract a refund. Please note that the new, relaunched company seems equally unresponsive as the old one. When it became clear we were being fobbed off by more promises which were not acted upon, we managed to get a refund via our credit card company. Never again.

My bike is out of use because of that motor sensor. I went ahead and bought a Gazelle. Amazing bike, even though I look like a grandpa.

No accessories are available and all are custom made for their bikes so you can’t buy any replacement and they are out of stock this is the worst spent 3k ever, avoid at all cost

Got a new Cowboy e-bike (Cruiser ST) just over a year ago. I’ve been mostly happy with it. Sometimes the app doesn’t connect to the bike or some other sort of technical issue that results in the bike not starting when and as expected. However, my main issue is with the company itself and the paltry ‘support’ offered due to a defect in their own product that they clearly state puts the customer/user/rider at risk if not remedied. Cowboy recalled the frames on my model due to defective frames. This was last year sometime. It’s been hard to book an appointment to hand the bike in for the replacement due to unavailability. They also only open up their calendar for frame replacement appointments one month at a time. I managed to get an appointment a month and a half ago on 30 March 2026, to be precise. It was a distance away from where I live and required me taking an afternoon off to go and hand my bike in. I expected to return it to a shop or warehouse facility, but the return took place on a random pavement in an industrial area, outside, in the cold. The guy helping me was very helpful and lovely. I felt sorry for him: poor working conditions. I received a message from them a couple of weeks ago saying the frame has been replaced and my bike is awaiting shipment back to Amsterdam, and I need to wait. Waiting (by customers) appears to have become the motto of this defective frame replacement situation for Cowboy. No new timeframe was given. In the meantime, they have not offered any support for an alternative bike for me to use during the time my bike is away at their factory in France, nor offered any compensation for a bike I might rent myself to use in the meantime. Nothing at all. I find this ridiculous and highly customer-unfriendly. They’ve put customers at risk with defective frames and then rely on customers’ generosity and patience while they take their own sweet time to remedy the defective frames. It does not inspire confidence in me in this company and I won’t easily recommend them to anyone. I’m frustrated, disappointed and €26 per week poorer as a result of having had to rent a bike to use while my Cowboy e-bike is being repaired. I’m not sure if any other e-bike companies are any better, but do your homework and research the company and its product as well as its financial status before spending tons of money.

I have a cowboy bike, which when working is an amazing bike. But since now a year, i have an issue with the bike and I cant cycle with it anymore, and the spare part has not been delivered yet. Despite the company restructuring, and even messaging in February that the spare part was being send. But nothing came, despite me following up with Cowboy support and the delivery partner (who had not received anything). This is costing me valuable time. Then besides my patience, and not having a functioning ebike for 1 year now. I also got my service subscription auto renewed; SERVICE for what??
Because Cowboy does not deliver the spare part for almost 1 year, my ebike is made useless, loosing the entire value of this ebike. In NL i will have to send a formal ' in gebreke stelling' as apparently nothing else is being responded too. (i do not count the chatbot with the same generic response and links, as a proper response).

DO NOT BUY — great bike, terrible service when something goes wrong
My Cowboy bike broke down in November 2025. Today is 16 May 2026, and Cowboy has still not been able to solve the issue. That means I have been waiting for around six months without a proper resolution.
What frustrates me most is how far the brand has fallen. When I bought the bike in 2022, the service was excellent. You could speak to a helpful customer service employee, spare parts arrived quickly, and someone could come to your home or workplace to repair the bike within a reasonable timeframe.
That experience has completely disappeared.
Now it is almost impossible to speak to a real person. And when you finally do, you often have to wait days for a response. Cowboy also seems to have lost control over its supply chain. Parts that have been ordered and paid for are not delivered, and there is little or no communication about delays or expected delivery dates.
I have also spoken with several shop owners who used to be Cowboy service partners, and they told me they have stopped working with Cowboy because of the way the company is currently operating.
The most disappointing part is that I actually love the bike when it works. But that is exactly the problem: when something goes wrong, Cowboy seems unable to solve it within a reasonable or respectable timeframe.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend buying a Cowboy bike. The product may look great, but the service and aftercare are not reliable enough for such an expensive purchase.

In response to Cowboy's response to this message:
Instead of copying and pasting a response that means nothing to customers, I suggest you offer an actual solution. Your reply feels like damage control, not customer care.
Getting in contact with your customer service team is almost impossible. You do not respond to my emails, and your chat has not replied to any of my messages for the last four days (not responding to messages is common practice in the Cowboy chat, and if they respond, they do not solve anything, as they keep stalling and do not provide any answers to my questions).
So please do better. Offer a solution that is genuinely helpful, instead of another piece of window dressing that only makes it look as if Cowboy is taking action.

I really love my Cowboy Classic. I’ve had it for almost 3 years now and it’s my daily commute bike: 40 km a day, sun or rain. The bike itself has honestly been brilliant. The battery is still very good, the design is clean and simple, no gimmicks, and it has never left me stranded apart from a flat tire.
Last year I developed an electronic issue where the speed reading in the app was all over the place. The bike was still rideable, so it wasn’t catastrophic, and it was initially handled under warranty. Unfortunately, because of the difficult period Cowboy went through (like many e-bike manufacturers), I ended up waiting around 8 months for the replacement part. Communication during that time was honestly not great, support could not really give clear answers or timelines.
What I do appreciate is how Cowboy dealt with the situation in the end. The replacement part did not solve the issue, and by then my bike was out of warranty, since October last year. Still, they listened to my arguments, acknowledged the issue had not actually been resolved, and decided to continue handling it under warranty anyway.
Recently their support has become much more responsive (they have never been unkind in my experience). So while the process was sometimes slow and frustrating, they did keep replying, they listened, and in the end they supported.
I am rooting for them to keep things on track now.

I order a bike from Cowboy in June 2025. A bike was delivered in March 2026. The bike that arrived was broken! I have been promised that a new bike will be sent to me and the broken one collected. It is now May the 13th 2026. Communication is via AI Bot and eventually a human being has been involved, but he is ignoring communication. The simple question when will a bike be delivered? No answer.
True ongoing saga. If you order a bike from this company after reading this review, best of luck. You have been warned.

Always trying their best and they are super friendly and open! Only positive experiences for me.

I should not buy this bike, the bike will go death within 3 years and then no support from Cowboy to repair. All bike repair shop partners of Cowboy refuse to accept Cowboy repair requests, because the issues are unclear and Cowboy also is not supporting the repair shop. And guess what: Cowboy client services is not honest and not responsive.

My Cowboy Cross became unusable in May 2025 with only 19 km on the bike due to a defective battery. After waiting months for a replacement, the new battery finally arrived — and it was defective as well.
The bike still does not work properly: with the old battery the bike powers on, but there is no motor assistance and the app shows an error message.
What is even worse than the technical issues is the customer support. Responses are extremely slow, often vague, and sometimes completely absent. Communication via app and email has been incredibly frustrating and ineffective.
For a company positioning itself as a premium e-bike brand, this experience has been unacceptable. After nearly a year without being able to properly use the bike, I honestly cannot recommend Cowboy to anyone.
