I generally like my Cowboy bike, but I’m giving it 3 stars because of two disappointing issues. I bought the bike about a year ago (or slightly less), and after just one month of use, the pai... See more

I paid €3,339 for a Cowboy Cruiser 2024 that has never worked a single day. From the very first ride — zero motor assistance due to a torque sensor error. A brand new €3,339 bike, completely useless.
When I contacted support, they sent me a troubleshooting guide for the wrong model. I spent my entire day off following instructions that didn't even apply to my bike. Then support went silent.
After I sent a formal Notice of Withdrawal citing EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, they finally responded and agreed in writing to send a replacement (order #333117). Then disappeared again — no tracking, no updates, no replies for weeks.
Two formal written notices. Multiple emails. Complete silence.
I have now filed an official complaint with ECC-Net and am proceeding with ACM (Autoriteit Consument & Markt). I will pursue every available option under EU law until this is resolved.
This is not a company having a bad week. This is a pattern — read the reviews. They take your money, ship broken products, and hope you give up. I won't. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Take your bike back and never sell it again.

I love my cowboy, it's so much fun to ride! - had a small issue or two early on, customer service was quick to provide support. replacement parts were shipped quickly, and resolved my issues. Excellent team, excellent product. I've had it for several years and the battery has maintained its great range.

Worst experience I've ever had in my life. First, my bike was supposed to come in 30 days, guess what, it arrived 7 months later. Yay, my bike, but no, a broken bike. Then, I had 3 repair rounds, only the 3rd time it was fixed, but guess what, the guy damaged my bike. Now a new steer was delivered... 6 months later, only to get another repair guy, who changed the steer, said everything was fine, but turned out both brakes are damaged, and now I can't ride my bicycle anymore.
Now, of course, their entire customer support is non responsive, and I can't ride my bike. DONT BUY A COWBOY, YOULL REGRET IT.

The motor on my Cowboy bike literally broke apart when starting off on flat ground. This is completely unacceptable for a supposedly premium e‑bike. There is no service centre within 50 km of where I live, and this bike is my primary means of transport, so I am effectively stranded.
Cowboy’s “solution” is to charge me for a call‑out and to make me prepay for parts that MIGHT arrive in two months, with no clear cost estimate and no guarantee the repair will even happen if more issues appear. I also see many reports of Cowboy being very reluctant to refund customers when they do not deliver what they promised, which makes me feel even less protected as a customer.
I actually like the bike’s design and the riding experience, but at this point I have to accept that I threw a lot of money at a promising concept that turned into a flop. If you are thinking of buying this bike mainly for its looks, be prepared to stock up on spare parts and to deal with poor reliability and service that is nowhere near what the marketing suggests.
I asked for other options as I am not willing to pay without someone insures me that bike will be repaired and maintenance will be brought back to promised level. As for contact them are quite responsive but I am also questioning myself if I pay for the parts and wait to their delivery will they respond
Update 06/05/2026:
I do now want to accept paying almost 400 EUR in advance for work and part that may be installed in 2 month time.
Requested other solution like replacement bike while my bike is in repair-shop or any other solution.
After that no reply from customer service as I suspected.

Cowboy is definitely not "back".
Main motor failed five days before warranty expired. (a failed planned obsolescence?). Warranty case started, delivery estimate has been pushed back one month, every month, since filing the claim.
Their AI service bot unilaterally shuts off and closes conversation threads without offering any actual advice. IF youre lucky, someone might reply within two weeks pushing your delivery date back again.
Do not give this company your money.

Great bike for my trips to the city centre. Nice design

Wish I never invested in a Cowboy bike.
Bike does not come with basic items like a lock or belt guard. A standard bike lock seems not too much to expect. Without the belt guard your fashion gets stuck and more dangerously you will fall hard hard. Even with the belt guard, it only limits the number of times you get stuck, clothing still gets stuck an destroyed.
The design element of the bike is one of my key decision factors for buying this specific bike. Coat gets damaged very easily, not because not being careful, but from everyday use as simple as someone elses bike touches yours when parked. The bike looks raggedy within no time. The painting to retouch doesn’t make it better. New coatings (at a charge) are not being offered.
After signing up for Cowboy Care and singed up for my first check up, shit went down. My torque sensor stopped working and needed replacement. Have been waiting for 10+ months to get a new one, with a non function bike in the meantime. All legal consumer rights were ignored; no loan bike, no new bike, no refund, no nothing. Customer service was and is non existing.
It’s a mess at Cowboy.

I know it is a big swap operation it took long time for I got the call to actually bring in my bike.
In the swap proces experience was very pleasant. Clear communications and nice follow up and the ability to schedule the drop off and collect at my own convenience. Happy to have a “healthy” bike back. The most that count is the performance of this great Bike! Thx

Bike itself is fine - rides nicely and has decent range for daily use. App is buggy and does not connect reliably. Brakes loose their grip pretty quickly which is obviously dangerous. Needs custom parts for smartphone holder, kids trailer etc. not following standards unfortunately. Now the frame needs replacement after 2 years of usage. Pretty frustrating experience so far. Drop off point needs an hour of driving, no bike in the meantime, waiting for about an hour because people coming late for their appointments get prioritised in Berlin (so if you need replacement and are in Berlin make sure to be late to your appointment). Really cannot recommend buying this anymore. Just not worth investing so much time. Giving 2 stars because my first 1,5 years of usage were satisfactory but >3k for a bike to use for 1.5 years is too much.

Great aftercare customer service and attention. Makes the long term ownership simple and easy. A huge difference in owning a Cowboy

After a rather long wait, I am happy that the wait was worth the time. The bike is brilliant as a city bike for me

Great design and build. The app is also very useful.

Very disappointing after-sales support.
The bike itself may be fine when it works, but the service makes it unreliable for daily use. I had to wait a couple of months for a new battery and more than a month for a replacement key. On top of that, support tickets take a long time to get a response.
That means if something goes wrong with your bike, you may be unable to use it for weeks or even months while waiting for parts and support. For a product that should be suitable for daily transport, that is simply not acceptable.
I would not recommend this as a daily-use bike unless the company seriously improves its support and spare parts process.

I needed to cancel an order I had placed and it went swimmingly. Customer service at Cowboy is first-rate.

I honestly don’t even know where to start with how bad this experience has been.
I ordered a bike from Cowboy in January last year, together with a phone case. At the time, the estimated delivery was around 3 months, which already felt long, but acceptable. Fast forward almost 17 months later, and I still haven’t received the bike or my money back.
From the beginning, communication has been incredibly frustrating. It’s nearly impossible to reach a real person, you’re stuck dealing with bots most of the time, and when you finally get through to someone, you get vague, copy-paste answers with no real accountability.
I paid everything upfront, bike and accessories, and yet the delivery date kept getting pushed further and further. After months of delays, I cancelled my order multiple times. Then, after more months of silence, they reached out asking for my bank details because apparently too much time had passed and they no longer had them. That alone says everything about how disorganized this company is.
While I was still waiting (long before I eventually cancelled), I asked for compensation due to the ongoing delays. What I got was an “extended warranty” on a bike I never even received. Completely useless.
Now, 17 months later:
* No bike
* No refund
* No real compensation
* And I’ve effectively given them an interest-free loan
To make things worse, when I asked for reimbursement of delivery costs and the phone case (which I obviously never used and now doesn’t even fit my current phone anymore), they simply said they can’t do that.
Every time I follow up, I get told the refund will happen in the “next payout cycle”, but no one can explain what that actually means or when it is. It’s just a way to keep you quiet.
The cherry on top? Their system currently shows my order as “DELIVERED”, even though it was cancelled months ago and never arrived. And instead of fixing it, they tell me to check my order status page for the most accurate information.
Nothing about this is accurate. Or professional.
This has been an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone considering buying from Cowboy to think twice, unless you’re okay with waiting indefinitely, chasing support, and possibly never seeing your money again.

I have had my Cowboy for 7 years now. It just goes. I take it out almost on a daily basis. Quality meets design meets service

Good pro-active service, home maintenance, and a great ride overall.

It was just amazing to make a ride on this beautiful bike. The design is wonderful, and the driving experience even more. I bought it instantly.
