I generally like my Cowboy bike, but I’m giving it 3 stars because of two disappointing issues. I bought the bike about a year ago (or slightly less), and after just one month of use, the pai... See more

The bikes are incredible... when they work. If nothing goes wrong you're on to a winner here. If you ever, for some reason, need support, then be prepared for weeks of back and forth with 4-5 days between replies on their chat, going nowhere. I have a C4 ST that is unable to be ridden for over a year because of their frame recall. That same bike has a dead motor now and no power assist. Chats with their support are painful. You have to repeat yourself and wait days for them to reply with the next steps. The bike died two weeks ago and we've achieved nothing over two weeks of messaging due to the delay in them getting back to you. I hate to say this because I love their bikes and have been responsible for recommending them to loads of people... But I honestly can't do it anymore. Their support is awful and it's just not good enough. I've been a cowboy owner for 5 years now and have bought for myself and my company 6 of their bikes in total, so it pains me to say this but... Go with a competitor instead. Cowboy support has always been awful and continues to be awful. The non-existent frame recall and unacceptable after sales service I've received for this last bike is just the straw that broke the camels back. Avoid.

As I see many similar reviews, I'll add one more. We all have the same problem... My rear wheel has a well-known factory defect. This happened before my 2-year warranty ended, but the support was so slow to treat it that I gave up.I wanted to fix it definitely now, but they say they don't cover damage after the "2-year warranty". Even though this is a defect that was here from the start. I couldn't even enjoy this 2,000 euros bike more than a few months before having to deal with slow answers from customer service, and now having to pay even more hoping to get a repair. I'd strongly advise anyone to choose another company. Here is my ticket #97866423 so they can see themselves how customer service treated my request, how slow the answers were (more than 1 month now), and how they refuse to acknowledge the factory defect.

The single worst bike company. Constantly broken bike, no parts, waiting for over a year to get mine fixed with empty promises and no conpensation

Waiting on a part for a year. Bike is great when it’s working. If anything goes wrong, it’s done.

When I first got my bike there was a partner shop and showroom nearby in Berlin. Now there is no repair service and the on-demand is never available. I am left with a bike that needs maintenance and where the adaptive gear is not working and I have no idea how to get it fixed without driving 250km to the next shop. How is this possible?

I purchased a Cowboy bike around a month and a half ago, but I was only able to ride it for approximately one week before the front wheel became loose and came off. Since then, the bike has been unsafe and unusable.
I have been trying to resolve this through the Cowboy app for around a month, but the responses have been extremely slow or nonexistent. For a product at this price point, this level of support is very disappointing, especially when the issue concerns the safety of the bike.
On top of that, I ordered the rear mudguard, but it appears to be sent to my old address in Berlin instead of my current address in Paris. I have asked for this to be corrected, but I still do not have a clear resolution.
At this point, I need Cowboy to urgently arrange a technician appointment to repair the bike, confirm that the rear mudguard order will be delivered to my correct address in Paris, and provide a clear response with a timeline.
I wanted to like the bike, but so far the ownership experience has been extremely frustrating. A bike that I could only use for one week out of a month and a half, combined with poor customer support, is simply not acceptable.

The bike feels so natural. Like cycling normally but with “strong legs”. Every time I had an issue it was solved quickly. And by issues I mean 3 or so. All in the early days. I have more than 10.700 km on the bike and I still love it. I rode A cowboy 2. Older model ;-)

I had a GoCycle before and the Cowboy is definitely far better (and cheaper). It's really reliable, looks good, charges well as lasts for a few journeys and has a good range of accessories or where you can use other brands (I found with the GoCycle I was stuck with using eg their pannier bag, etc.). The other major difference is the one good the Cowboy app is as an interface. Highly recommend

I was really happy with the bike but now sadly it is broken, I have gotten help from their team and thei said they would get me a free repair because I have insurance. Now I have been waiting for 3 months and have not been able to use my bike.

I purchased a Cowboy Cross ST in July 2024 and didn’t receive it until December 2024. Less than a year later, in August 2025, the motor stopped providing assistance entirely, making the bike effectively unusable.
After a maintenance appointment, the issue temporarily disappeared for a few weeks. By October 2025, a service partner determined that the torque driver needed to be replaced and Cowboy ordered the part.
It took six months for the replacement part to arrive. I never had an estimated delivery date and at one point my order completely disappeared from my account.
During that time, I repeatedly contacted Cowboy through support chats, service appointments, email, and social media. Eventually, I stopped receiving responses altogether.
When the part finally arrived, it was installed—but the problem remained exactly the same. The technician initially believed the repair had worked, but after I insisted he actually ride the bike, he admitted the issue was still present and said he would need to contact Cowboy because he didn’t know what was wrong.
More than six months later, I still have a €4,000 bike that cannot be ridden.
To make matters worse, my husband’s Cowboy bike, purchased only a few months after mine, has now developed the same issue and is waiting for the same replacement part.
The bike looks great, but that means very little when it can sit unusable for months with no clear solution and little communication from the company. Based on my experience, the biggest risk with Cowboy isn’t the bike—it’s what happens when something goes wrong.

Beautiful bike, sleek design. Ride is awesome, always the right amount off assistance, going up, strong winds, it feels so smooth. Hoop they can fix the after sale with there fresh start.

I've owned my Cowboy bike for a while now and was already completely satisfied, but what happened to me recently truly blew me away. I had a fall with the bike. While I was still picking myself up, my phone vibrated: the built-in crash sensor in the bike had registered the accident immediately! I was contacted right away via SMS and a phone call to check if I was okay and if I needed assistance. Everything was fine on my end, but this rapid response gave me an incredibly secure feeling. A fantastic e-bike with real added value for rider safety!

I love my Cowboy 3 – when it works. But if something goes wrong, you're on your own.
My bike was stolen and recovered with significant damage in March 2026. Since then I've been trying to get it repaired. There is no authorized service partner in Berlin (a city of 3.5 million people). A mobile technician was promised – that was over 2 weeks ago, no appointment ever came through despite multiple follow-ups.
I've now been without my bike for over 2 months. My insurance has approved 836€ for the repair. The money is there. Cowboy just can't organize a technician to show up.
I've contacted support countless times across every channel. No resolution. I'm now writing to the founders on LinkedIn and leaving reviews here and on the App Store – not out of frustration, but because this is the only thing that seems to get a response.
Great product, completely broken after-sales infrastructure.

4 MONTHS of broken promises. 1+ YEAR of waiting for a bike that never arrived. Total radio silence on my refund. My experience with Cowboy has been a complete masterclass in anti-consumer behavior: 1. I waited over a year for an e-bike delivery that kept getting delayed. 2. I finally canceled the order. 3.I was explicitly promised a refund. 4.Four months later, Cowboy is still illegally holding onto my money.Their "support process" is a complete fiction. If you are lucky enough to get a response, the support staff is completely clueless, deeply unhelpful, and clearly trained to stall.Being "polite" and sending nice emails behind closed doors gets ignored. If you are thinking about buying a Cowboy bike, be warned: if anything goes wrong, they will take your cash and run. #customersupport

Been using it for 2 years. Ride very smoothly. The small problems are sometimes the app doesn’t want to connect with the bike and it’s annoying if you are in a rush. Also sometimes the level of battery just doesn’t show so I have to re-insert the battery. Other than these it’s a very good and beautiful bike. Still love it.

Avoid at all costs unfortunately... Great looking bikes but they break down in < 1 year like clockwork. Even within warranty, impossible to get any response from their customer service.
I understand the struggles of companies, but if you're not able to maintain a minimal level of service, you should just fully pull the plug on the company (or build a better product from the outset).
