Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 51 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the quality of the product, especially after recent formula changes. Customers frequently reported that the color results did not match expectations or the shades shown on the box. Reviewers also found that the product often failed to cover grey hair effectively and washed out quickly. The new formulas often led to hair feeling dry, brittle, or damaged, and some experienced scalp irritation. Additionally, some users encountered issues with the product's consistency, finding it either too thick to apply evenly or too runny, leading to messy application and staining.

Used today

Used today. I have died my hair for over 10 years. Nice and easy started burning and after 2 mins had to wash this off. This has never happened before. Dreadful.

USED NATURAL INSTINCTS 3 TIMES AND LOST LOTS OF MY HAIR!!

I used Medium Cool Blonde in the Natural Instincts range by Clairol which is semi-permanent and 80% organic, having used their Age Defy for a couple of years but now wanting to put less chemicals on my scalp. The colour turned out great so I used it again about 6 weeks later but this time the colour was a darker duller blonde and didn't fully cover my grey hairs at the side of my head. So next time, again about 6 weeks later, I tried the Light Blonde, again Natural Instincts which is supposed to be 80% Organic, and I've been horrified to see my hair falling out. I originally put it down to stress, or maybe HRT imbalance but ruled those reasons out due to the time scales and now having read through these reviews for other Clairol products I think I have found the real reason. Surely Clairol must read these negative reviews? Is it going to take someone taking them to court for them to admit their mistake and take this rotten product off the market? Now I'm armed with this information from the other reviews I will be contacting Clairol although I'm not expecting much success!

NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE

Have used this product for years, however in the last 6 months it does not seem to be the same. My hair is dull, and lacks the lustre and shine I used to get after using this product. Also my scalp seems to be irritated and itchy after use. Also what happened to tones that used to be in it. I used 118 which had red tones in The no 5 that replaced it does not seem to have any
Company need to look into what had changed and rectify it.

Formula change!

I used to be a hairdresser so I know what I'm doing, I've used Nice'n'Easy on and off for years and never had a problem until recently, my hair is quite long so I use 2 boxes to make sure it's all covered, I use a bag to cover it, leave it on longer to process than instructions and I've tried on more that 1 occasion, it also isn't a drastic colour change as I stick to the auburn shades, however recently the colour will not take on the mid lengths and ends, so I now have 2 toned hair which isn't a good look, I think the formula has definitely changed and I won't be using it again unfortunately.

Beware if you suffer allergies

Beware if you suffer allergies, I had a bad reaction because of these ingredients in the CC+ colour seal conditioner
METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE

Red swollen, scaly, dry itchy face which lasted just over two weeks. I will not use this company until they remove these preservative chemicals, which are well known irritants and which have been removed from other company’s products years ago.

I suffered hair loss and damage from Clairol Root Touch up

I've been using Clairol Black Root Touch Up product for over 7 years to cover minor gray's. The latest use left me with major hair loss and damage. I literally watched my long lustrous locks wash down the sink. Talked to my Mom and learned she had the same experience. I'm not sure what is going on, but this product needs to be examined maybe even pulled from the market! Do Not Use!!!

This is the worst hair colour for the Asians, it's the worst brand I ever used in my life, it hardly covers grey and washes off with one wash, I would strongly recommend not to buy and waste your money on this product, I am extremely disappointed with this product, I would never buy and would not recommend to anyone
Thank you

Turned my hair black!! Awful product

What has happened to the permanent hair dye?
I purchased some 5M Mahogany Brown (in the new packaging) I thought I'd die from the fumes when mixing it. I only left it on for 20mins, and had a heap of hair loss when washing it out. The worst part is my hair has come out BLACK with zero mahogany tones. Feeling very devastated right now. Awful product now, no more nice and easy for me.
Would not recommend to anyone.

Used Nice and Easy for years and had no problem. What have they done to the formula. Burning sensation, now left with very irritated scalp. They have obviously had loads of complaints why are they not doing something about it. Will not use this again. Stay away if you have sense. It’s definitely not ammonia free now either.

Very upsetting!!!

I've used nice and easy semi permanent hair colour for years and recently thought I'd try the natural instincts one.. Went on fine, felt nice, nice colour ect bt couple of days later my scalp became itchy and lumps over the back and neck, soo itchy bt very sore to, very surprising as thought was supposed to be so gentle, I've not had this reaction with PERMANENT ones, so upset, wnt be using that again.. No chance!!!

A huge disappointment!

After using it happily for many years, I would give it 0 if I could! Colour is drastically different and grey coverage patchy! What have you done, Clairol!? I bought two packets on a deal but shall not use the second. What a waste and disappointment!

What Is Wrong With Clairol Nice 'N Easy??

I just colored my hair with Nice N Easy Light Blonde #9. Instead of it coming out the preferred color, my hair is
auburn (reddish brown). Something has changed or been left out of their formula. I never once had this problem before and not sure how to fix it. I am not happy after years of using this product and color. After a few shampooings, it's a bit better but still not right.

What has happened to Nice n Easy????

I’ve been using Nice n Easy light ash blonde for over twenty years, and have always loved the results. I always buy in bulk so I’ve just run out of the old formula and used the new. My long hair that previously went lovely tones of light ash and gold is now a flat orange mess!!! I’m devastated and will have to visit a hairdresser (when they open!!!) to get this fixed.

I have used nice'n easy creme for many years. I brought one yesterday at my local sainsbury's. We'll it didn't cover the grey hair it made no difference to my hair. I am so disappointed with this product. On the box it states 08/20 perhaps it has a sell by date I don't know. I usually don't have any problems. Wi now have to look for a different product.
