Unfortunately, what needed to be done with my electrical problem wasn't covered and the claim was denied. Fortunately, the contractor that came out to my house was able to fix it, but I had to pay out... See more

Easy to Do Business With - Even Better Deal Than I Was Quoted!
Having been in sales and a CEO in the business world for well over 40 years, I found it very easy to do business with you. I even got a $2.00 discount in addition to the $51.25 I was quoted, making my monthly charge only $49.25!
What a deal!
Our 20+ year home is showing it's age
Our 20+ year home is suddenly showing it's age. We've been with Choice Home Warranty two years. It's been our experience that each of our eight service calls have been very successful, as timely as possible and the service providers very professional and courteous. Would definitely recommend CHW.

Canceled Choice Home Warranty
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience with Choice Home Warranty.
I submitted my warranty application on July 6, 2026, and my coverage effective date was August 6, 2026. On August 17, I reported a serious problem with my kitchen faucet and filed a claim.
This was not a problem that I could simply wait and see if it got worse. Whenever I turned on the water, water would leak from underneath the kitchen sink. Because of the leak, I could not properly use my kitchen sink at all. I have two children in my household, so this was a serious and stressful situation for my family. I could not simply stop using the sink indefinitely and wait for Choice Home Warranty to decide what to do.
Despite this, Choice Home Warranty refused to cover the claim. I was told that there was likely buildup inside the faucet before August 6, and therefore they assumed that the problem must have existed before my coverage became effective.
What I find extremely unfair is that this conclusion appears to be based on an assumption rather than actual evidence that the faucet was defective or malfunctioning before August 6. The fact that buildup may have existed does not automatically prove that the faucet was already broken or malfunctioning before my coverage began.
I personally spoke with Sylvanna Green-Hazel and explained the situation in detail. I asked her to reconsider the claim and explained why I felt it was unfair to deny the claim based simply on an assumption about when the problem may have started. Unfortunately, I was ultimately told that they would not cover it.
I understand that a home warranty company has contractual exclusions and limitations. However, when a kitchen sink cannot be used because water leaks underneath the sink whenever the faucet is turned on, this is not something a homeowner can simply ignore or postpone.
I am extremely disappointed that after purchasing a home warranty and paying for coverage, my claim was denied based on an assumption about when the problem may have started rather than clear evidence that the faucet was actually defective before my coverage began.
I am sharing my experience so that other homeowners can understand how my claim was handled before deciding whether Choice Home Warranty is the right company for them.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! DON'T BUY from this company. It's been a total waste of time and money. Thank God the sellers paid for it not us. Had 2 claims this year. Denied first claim on pool equipment that failed with some BS reason ($6000). Next, our AC (only unit for house) went out. Temp in house over 100. They took a day to assign someone, then gave us an appt for 5 days later. Have called another company who is coming out in the next few hours.

My claim for electrical work was…
My claim for electrical work was immediately denied and that was determined by the choice home warranty use of AI. When I filed for a review it was denied a second time because of normal wear and tear. This was supposedly done by their review board whoever that is. What really upset me was that i paid the $75 upfront cost and the total bill was for an additional $300. I had already been with choice home warranty for a year paying them $53 per month. After I called to cancel my service with them did I get a person on the phone who said that they got it all wrong and i should have been covered under normal wear and tear. Then he offered to pay half the claim that their recommended electrical contractor said it would cost. I asked that person why not pay the full $300 cost.
I got no answer for that but he was giving me a good faith offer even though my claim was denied. My advice would be to use another company other than Choice Home Warranty. They are a rip off
More Than a Month Without a Working Refrigerator – Completely Unacceptable
I opened my refrigerator claim with Choice Home Warranty on July 27 because it was not cooling or freezing. More than a month later, it is still not repaired.
The timeline speaks for itself:
July 28: First appointment – no one showed up.
Vendor confusion followed—the contact provided told me they do not repair refrigerators and had not accepted the claim.
Aug 4: Sears finally diagnosed the issue, including the compressor, ordered parts, and scheduled repair for Aug 11.
Aug 11: Repair canceled/rescheduled because parts had not arrived.
Aug 24: After waiting another two weeks, Sears gave a 12–2 PM window, then 2–4 PM. The technician later canceled due to a doctor's appointment, and the system pushed the next appointment to Sept 9.
Aug 25: Choice reassigned the claim and promised a new vendor within 48 hours.
Aug 27: No vendor. I was promised an update by 5 PM. Nothing.
Aug 28: Called again and was told to wait another 24 hours.
This has become an endless cycle of missed appointments, vendor problems, rescheduling, parts delays, broken timelines, and repeated “24–48 hour” promises.
Meanwhile, my family continues without an essential appliance, dealing with food spoilage, additional expenses, inconvenience, and constant follow-ups.
I understand that delays happen. What is unacceptable is the apparent lack of ownership, urgency, backup process, and accountability when those delays occur.
After more than a month, I don't need another apology or another 24–48 hour promise.
I need my refrigerator repaired.
A home warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind. This experience has made me seriously question the value of the service, especially as a VIP customer.
Choice Home Warranty management needs to review how this case was handled. Would you accept this level of service for your own family?
