Four years on and Cancard just get better

I'm in my fourth year now and the organisation gets better and stronger every year. The application process is easy to complete, but you do need access to your medical record and have a qualifying condition. The team at Cancard are really friendly and helpful. I am fortunate in as much as I haven't had any contact with the authorities, but having my card gives me the confidence to go out and about with my pre-filled vape capsules. Reading other peoples experiences with the police demonstrates that being a card holder works in your favour.

An organisation that’s here to support…

An organisation that’s here to support those who require cannabis/weed to help with symptoms of their health issues but otherwise whom may fall foul of the police, amongst others, as a result. They provide a ‘safety blanket’ for us so to speak.

I was late in uploading my renewal evidence, yet no soon as I did, I immediately received an email advising that they’ve pushed it through. Which, I admit, was amazing as sometimes, it can take a few days+ to get a reply. But, I cannot thank them enough for all they do, for EVERYONE.

No company is perfect but it needs to be said that they are providing support, where to my knowledge, no-one else has on this scale and accessibility.

Cannabis has changed my life

Cannabis has changed my life, I can now have a few more days where my pain is bearable, I've not had that for 15 years. You are doing a great job and I know you are helping lots more people.
Thank you so much x

Applied for a cancard and was approved

Applied for a cancard and was approved, £29 was not a lot to pay considering the benefits you get. I'm 61 and never used cannabis before but getting far too many flare ups with my rheumatoid arthritis I'm willing to try anything

Disabled Cannabis user since the 1990's & CanCard

Just renewed my CanCard (£19) today on the website, the whole process was sorted same day. I was born disabled over 50 years ago & have picked up a few extra disabilities along the path of my life. I became addicted to my pain meds as a child & due to a heart condition was advised to give up my meds in my late teens. I was what was known as a "straight edge" back in the 1990's. I fell for the media & Gov lies regarding cannabis/marijuana & forgot to read Hashem/God/Allah's books for guidance. Genesis Ch1 V29 all green herbs I give to you as food. Felt like all that time at bible school & I didn't even know the plant's a herb. I tried "jazz cigarettes" as the beatniks at my 1st art school called them. Back then "green" was hard to come by & expensive, but we could easily get hold of cannabis resin (good stuff back then Afghanistan / Pakistan / Morocco. Soon to be replaced with shite containing plastic etc. The first time I tried it I couldn't believe how effective it was for my arthritic pain relief, it helped me to eat, sleep, most importantly cannabis helps me to stop panic attacks, calm my mind, ease my depression, focus on the job at hand. I told my GP what I was doing. I've always told them what I do, I told the Police every single drug I've ever tried & that I am a cannabis user since the 1990's. I was so frightened that CanCard was a Gov/Police scam to get us that when applying for a job in the Civil Service I declared it on my application form & said I am hoping to get a CanCard but I think it could be a scam so I basically thought f-*ck it, if they're scammers then the Gov can have them. I got the job and a few months later the security clearance team got back in touch with me & asked a few questions like if you haven't got a CanCard & medical marijuana prescription yet how & where do you get your medicine. To which I still not knowing if I was being set up replied with something along the lines of walk into any British City centre & sniff it out, which is pretty much one way of doing it, but petrifying the older you get. We shouldn't have to put our selves in danger when it is common knowledge that even before the Yanks & Canada legalised it not only for medical use but recreational use that the British Gov was one of the World's biggest suppliers of Medical Marijuana. Two faced f-*ckers, making money from a plant ordained by God for us. Denying disabled British Citizens the right to a natural herbal remedy with minimal side effects. I told my cardiologist (when I had one) that I was using weed to control my arthritis & my new pain since the Copper nearly killed me after driving up that North Devon road in the rain at night with no lights on, conveniently just after I'd picked up 2x ounces. He did offer me a lift but that cheese stunk & back in 2012 I'd have got knicked. I let him go, he let me go, however 12x years later I finally got the NHS to X-ray my hip & found that I had broken one of my pubic pelvic bones. I walked it off & carried on working by microdosing weed. No one in the NHS believed me, not one person, but every doctor said whatever it is you are doing keep doing. I'd had enough of the side effects of my beta blockers and was miserable, brain fogged, felt like a 100 year old man not a man in his 30's, 40's & now 50's, so in January of this year I quit all of my heart meds without doctor's permission and put my faith once again back in God's hands. The only medicine I take is street marijuana, I still haven't been able to afford to get a prescription & until £20 bags are available on the NHS I'm not going to be able to change. Having a CanCard has changed my life for the better "Thank You Carly" & "Thank You Team CanCard" for everything you have done, are doing & will do in the future for all of us who need this medicine. I pray for a day when we are able to grow our own so we can take care of the plants that take care of us. One of the nicest things about having a CanCard is that I am able to speak openly & honestly about it with other people. I've shared "CanCard"(s) nice easy to remember website with random strangers I bump into. I show them my CanCard, I tell them my story above & go into even more details. I don't go on about it being a miracle cure, & I make sure to tell everyone not to be stupid or take the piss & start hitting bongs in public places etc. The Police & Gov need more education on this. I refuse to be a burden on society but it's tricky when you're down to your last few quid & I won't sign on the Dole as quiet frankly the DWP is more like the f*ckin Stazi than servants of the public. I won't use the NHS unless it's an emergency as Medical Marijuana is a Human Right & the NHS is over burdened with middle management & not enough Nurses & Doctors. CanCard is legit, has been and shall continue to be life changing for this dude. Hidden disabilities are hidden & I'm happy to hide away & treat myself as I have done since the 1990's. Peace & Love Marty

Freedom to take my medicine out! Very reasonable price.

I can carry opioids and benzos with me no issue. But a plant, a gift from the earth herself and its an arrestable offence? Crazy!
Thankfully I no longer rely on pharmaceuticals and their God awful side effects, thanks to Cannabis. This plant has helped me in so many ways.
Super quick application. I sent in my supporting documents feeling safe in the knowledge that the Cancard don't judge and are there to help. I received a congratulations email within 24 hours to say I'd been accepted. I have a digital card and my physical card will be here within 3 weeks.
This is because they batch print cards to help save the planet. I'm all good with waiting. The digital card should be just as good.
I'm happy with the cost and don't see why anyone would complain about it. The support that Cancard offer for this small cost is outstanding!
I feel safe to take my vapouriser out with me now instead of struggling. I'm not great with confrontation so I have actively avoided taking my medicine with me, which has kept me home, a LOT.
Now? Freedom calls!
THANK YOU Carly and the team, for ALL your hard work and dedication to liberating this wonderful plant medicine, and helping the Police and others to see that consuming this medicine does not a criminal make. We are everyday people, with medical conditions that benefit hugely from it.
Thanks again.
I hope to never need the support, but I feel safe in the knowledge that I have a whole community behind me should I ever need it.
