British Ironwork Centre Reviews 

Visited on a sunny day in March prior to taking a school trip here in April. Plenty to see- some of the sculptures are huge! I especially enjoyed the Knife Angel and the Superheroes exhibition.

I visited a couple of weeks ago. Overall, it was a nice place to visit for an enjoyable walk. Café staff are always very nice and extremely hardworking. Sensed racist undertones from a couple of the ladies, but hey, you can't have it all. Being a winter's day, most people had long winter coats on concealing their yellow wrist bands. One of the ladies insisted on asking all the foreign-looking people to pull back their sleeves to see said band!

Beautiful, detailed, high quality, cast metal sculptures. Helpful staff a prompt delivery. My purchase arrived well-packed and as described. Pricing is very fair too. Great company. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience with the whole family & everyone really enjoyed it there are plenty of photo opportunities and it's an amazing day out ! Will definitely be returning

Me and my family love it hear. Always loads to see, for all of us :) food is good and the staff are very friendly. Love the walk around the sculpture park too.

My friends and I were disgusted at the way visitors who arrived at the Centre after 1pm yesterday (Friday 14/02/2025) were treated. The Centre's website stated entrance fees as being FREE from October to February. As it was unclear, I checked with the Centre prior to visiting that the stated "free" period was INCLUSIVE of February. I received confirmation that this was indeed the case, outside school half term dates. This confirmation is evidenced via a screenshot of my web chat with Matthew.
I arrived at 12pm on 14th and everything went smoothly despite the Centre being extremely busy. My friends then arrived at 1pm to be told there would be a £14 each entrance fee. There were several other people waiting to enter and they were told the same. These people were also under the impression that entry was free on that day, so were equally confused and disappointed. Some had travelled long distances and had young families so we're far from happy. After complaining, my friends and the others were informed that the charge was due to it being school half term. However, UK school half term dates do not commence until Monday 17/02/2025, so Friday 14th is outside of this period.
My friends were given a pass to go the the cafe to meet me but were told they could not visit the rest of the Centre without paying the £14 entrance fee each.
My friends were very upset and angry when they met me and had I not already ordered lunch for us, we would have left immediately, especially considering the cafe's inflated prices, adding insult to injury.
We've checked the website today and they've now updated the wording on their price list to specify 12th February as being the cut off date to their 'free' period. This was obviously as a result of the upset and confusion yesterday and their realisation that 14th February, being Valentine's Day, is a very lucrative income opportunity.
I understand their thinking and have no problem with the business charging on this date, but not after they had stated it as being free on their website and then to update the website the following day (AFTER the date date in question had passed) that's outrageous !
I was not charged an entrance fee when I arrived at 12pm, just the £4 car parking fee so can only assume that all other visitors prior to 1pm were also not charged and that the later charging was put in place to take full financial advantage of the unpredicted high volume of visitors. Unprofessional and hardly fair to the later visitors!
It certainly tainted what would otherwise have been a lovely day for us and one which we were very much looking forward to. We left immediately after lunch.

Iv just received a lovely hand made heart ❤️ shaped hat hook , it looks absolutely brilliant and made in the Uk , great gift at a great price with good delivery, will buy again .

Have visited recently to see if the centre would be suitable for a school trip. Staff were very helpful and the sculptures were amazing. Looking forward to seeing the children's reactions.

What an amazing day out you get blown away by the amazing sculptures driving into the drive some are huge it’s great! Then you have the cafe which is amazing definitely worth the day out.

My first visit here on Saturday 25/01/25. The artwork is extraordinary and great exceptional talent here..I cannot believe what can be made from old metal parts and knives etc..The bee on the entrance from the car park was incredible, as was the knife Angel, and what a way to let generations be educated on these items..
Great tent of “Super Heroes” for the children ( and adults). So much dotted about the grounds and indoors.
My reason for the 3 stars was purely for the lack of service at the outdoor food place…sadly it took an hour to just get out food ( after asking 2 members of staff) .. when our food came out we told the guy that we had ordered drinks and crisps too and he said he would check. After a further hour we never saw him or the drinks…we were there 2 hours outside in total for 2 small meals….( indoors was full). we were very cold and complained only then did the drinks arrive., I asked for sugar and the kind lady said she would get this for me yet didn’t think to bring a spoon to stir the coffee!! We were told that an envelope with 2 free passes and drinks would be left at reception for us.. They even got that wrong as there was no envelope waiting for us…There clearly wasn’t enough staff to cope with demand from ordered food.. if you go the counter direct for cakes/ drinks it’s immediate..
This is a place that is great to visit and I would recommend it highly to see the artwork..maybe we came on a bad day as the poor staff were rushed off their feet as clearly there were not enough to cope causing people to complain ( not just us)..

Took the kids for an afternoon out looking at the fantastic sculptures, my lad is amazed by them..we then stopped for ice cream and cake for the adults In the tea room. It's such a lovely day out. Staff are all so friendly and polite.

Amazing sculpture park that's growing and changing with each visit for the better. Improving on perfection.

Forge cafe... just wow... best food for reasonable price.

What an amazing place to visit, it takes your breath away before you even enter with the fantastic statues of The Hulk and a Transformer either side of the entrance. Once inside there is a fantastic shop, a cafe selling the most amazing food at brilliant prices as well as the showstopping afternoon tea that is ENORMOUS !! there are also characters dotted around sharing your table as you eat. Once outside there is a small place to eat selling drinks and ice cream with loads of seating and then there is the walk around the grounds show casing hundreds of statues..... there is everything you can think of and more...Disney characters, wildlife, horses, minions, gorillas, dinosaurs, The Predator... the list goes on. This place is amazing and highly recommended, you can easily spend the whole day there.

British Ironwork Centre have wonderful and thoughtful staff who go above and beyond to help you.

We bought some stair rods and they do look lovely but we had a few problems with the installation. Screws were rubbish so we had to buy better screws to secure the rods and the ends were difficult to get off to allow us to cut the rods. Ended up having to pull one off with a set of grips but even using a towel to protect the end we managed to damage it. It came off after 19 minutes of work.

We painted it with a sharpie so looks okay from a distance!

Would have been better with a better fitting rather than metal in metal
