Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time. Signed up for and attended a hearing test at Oxford street branch. When I arrived the audiologist told me I couldn't have a hearing test because I had wax in my ears. I asked if he could remove the wax (was happy to pay) or do the test anyways and he said no. Why they couldn't advise on the website that this was a possibility is beyond me.

Staff were very friendly and efficient as was the Audiologist. Everything was explained and prices were clear and precise
Excellent service
Katyana is a pleasant interviewer and capable. Understands what if any problems there are with my hearing aids. Always professional and knowledgeable. It is nice to see other clients responses after an appointment with her especially when they say their appointment was superb. I feel I am in good hands, thank you
Perfect service.
Boots aftercare for the elderly
I’ve just contacted Boots aftercare to say that my 97 year old Mum, now living in a nursing home in Harrogate, has lost one of her hearing aids. She is totally unable to hear what we or the staff are saying without it how can we proceed?
He was very unhelpful, said we don’t have authority on her notes, I need your POA (which we don’t have) we can’t help. I explained again she 97 with Alzheimer’s it’s important that she can hear what the staff are saying to her. He maintained it was a medical record and wouldn’t be doing anything to help despite me giving him all her personal details as next of kin at the outset. Then said bring her in. I explained again her situation and it would be impossible to do that given her age, her situation and her inability to go out yet alone into that sort of setting. I found him extremely arrogant and not customer facing at all, quite useless in fact.

I felt that the audiologist was caring
I felt that the audiologist was extremely professional and caring and even though my appointment ran over time while a feedback issue in one ear was carefully dealt with I never felt rushed.
First visit to bootsFirst time going to boots for hearing…
First time going to boots for hearing aids. First class service, everything explained thoroughly wide choice of hearing aids and things to go with it very clear layout if you wish to do credit on the purchase and absolutely nothing to worry about when you leave.
Excellent service in Loughborough
I received excellent service throughout the process of purchasing a set of hearing aids from Boots in Loughborough - from making the initial appointment to receiving the aids within a few days - I was delighted with the service given. My audiologist was Zadam and I cannot recommend him highly enough - thoroughly professional, knowledgeable and helpful throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending this organisation to anyone.
The Missing Links
Mohammed at the Cleveleys Branch had the time, patience and skill to inform himself of my hearing needs based on both discussion and practical hearing tests, all recorded by him with amazing keyboard speed and dexterity.
The net result after two visits is a Phonak aid that is said to meet my specific and identified needs, with the addition of a microphone to aid, among other things, essential communication between driver and navigator during our long European motorhome journeys sitting behind a noisy diesel engine.
However, there is a problem which is not of Mohammed’s making: there is no link between the Boots six-part hierarchy of hearing needs and the bewildering number of possible hearing aids. Boots give the customer needs a ranking as if they were Olympic Medals: Essential, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum+, with a progressive increase in minimum cost. The hearing aids from just one maker, Phonak, have names like Infinio, Ultra, Sphere, Lumity, Audeo, Virto and Titanium, and levels of sophistication ii90, i70, i50 and i30. But how do Boots medals and Phonak models match? This is not helped by many Phonak models that were developed in 2024 being superseded by new ones by the end of 2025. Surely the Boots names should be linked to the latest Phonak names! I’m still not sure exactly which model I got, except that the receipt gives it as a Phonak Audeo i70.
The booklet provided with the hearing aid is written in only the most general terms. For example, it says the ‘professional’ should be asked to provide an individual printout of ‘Hearing aid instructions’ for the use of the two buttons on the hearing aid I haven’t received my copy yet.
Mohammed himself well deserves five stars, but the overall service is let down by the lack of attention to detail shown by Boots itself.
Very satisfied
Shabnam was as usual, prompt, friendly, responsive and highly professional
professional advice.
Very helpful
I feel cheated by Boots Hearing Aid company. I was under the impression that I had…
I was under the impression that I had 90 days free trail of the hearing aid before I was sent to have a coffee with demoset. When I said I would have them, he was reluctant to begin with to tell me the exact cost of them with the discount. But worked it out on paper. Then I asked him about how much a month it was for the interest fee repayments. He said he would work it out at the desk. It was so disorderly at the desk with 3 othe patients and their partners standing around. The two staff had not seemed to know how to work the computer when I was sitting waiting. 2 hours later they still were having problems. I had to put my pin in for my visa card with people standing close by. I thought I was just paying a deposit and I would get notification of my monthly payments as well as a copy of the read out of the hearing test results as promised by email. I have not received the results of my test as asked for. Just an email saying as I had had the hearing aid for two weeks they want me to go over how it was working for me. I had only had it one week when I received it. I then looked at bank statement and was shocked the £3055.50 had been taken from my account. Is there anyway at least £2000,00 could be returned to my account immediately and money amounts of £60 be set up as a direct debit please.

Which hearing aid is most suitable?.
The audiology appointment was conducted very professionally by the Boots audiologist who conducted the hearing test to determine the level of deafness, after which having determined that hearing loss was significant proceeded to offer the best hearing aids for this level of deafness, the hearing aids on offer were discussed together with their advantages and disadvantages before a decision was made,
Altogether this was a very comprehensive and pleasant experience.
