Very friendly, professional and reassuring.

I went for a free hearing test at Boots in Handforth Dean, because I thought I had ambient hearing loss in the last year. Lee introduced himself and his first comments were ‘oh you live in Wilmslow, so you won’t use the nhs you’ll be a private customer’. A biased assumption. He explained the process. Examined my ears and said they were healthy. Then he did the audio test and when I came out of the booth he informed me I had moderate hearing loss, that I had been having problems for 5 years and that my brain had been declining for 3 years. I was shocked. He then said he wanted to book me in for a full test. I said I would like to think about it first (mainly because I didn’t trust him or his diagnosis) as at this point his attitude changed from being overly charming to being angry. He turned to the computer and said I’m writing full test declined. I said I’m not declining it I just need time to think. He repeated full test declined. He shoved a leaflet in my hand and said that the appointment was finished, as his next client had arrived. He went to the door and called ‘Margaret’ before I had time to get up. This guy is rude, very unprofessional and discourteous. And I’ve concluded only interested in making financial profit either for himself or Boots. He was a stereotypical salesman and was trying to scare or influence me by using bullying tactics …. Not what I had expected from Boots

Lee barrington was fantastic

Lee was very helpful with explaining the hearing process and the reasoning for my hearing loss. He talked to me about what is important for me when it comes to hearing better. This is the first time anyone has asked me this. Every part of the process was excellent, and my new hearing aid has genuinely changed my life!

Lee Barrington was brilliant, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the girl who I spoke to when arriving first time didn’t book me in so I had to wait 15 minutes past the appointment time. I mentioned this to her the second time and she just shrugged and giggled. Not good for first impressions at all. However, the brilliance of Lee convinced me to stay with you.

I was dealt with professionally, everything was explained and I felt I was “ being looked after”

I had a deeply disappointing experience and feel strongly compelled to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the sales approach felt aggressively forced, with additional items pushed on me without clear consent or transparent pricing. Costs were not disclosed upfront, which immediately eroded my trust. What concerns me most is the checkout process: instead of being given a proper sales receipt, I was handed only a credit card receipt—effectively removing any realistic chance of returning items that were pressured on me. This tactic felt intentional and misleading. Based on this experience, I urge anyone considering this store to proceed with extreme caution, verify all prices before agreeing to anything, and insist on a full sales receipt. Protect yourself—don’t assume you’ll be treated fairly unless you actively safeguard your rights.

Very thorough testing and very well explained.all questions answered

After suffering hearing loss for some time I decided to go to Boots, Handforth, for a test that confirmed serious hearing loss. After considerable discussion/advice with the Audiologist, Lee I purchased a pair Phonak Infinio Sphere i70. These are behind the ear, self adjusting, high sound quality aids - not the cheapest by any means. After a month of wearing them they have transformed my life for the better - I don't know I have then on. What I have also realised ​is the importance of the Audiologist in the after sales service to ensure that I am adjusting to life with sound and that I can maintain the aids correctly- thank you Lee. came in to my local boots that ive been going in for years to find that they have now put self checkouts in , i dont want to be served by a robot and i dont get payed to scan items , ill keep asking to be served at the perfume bit and using cash to keep the staff in a job
