I had come to BLS Ottawa for my surrender cert and Pranali was of great help and was prompt in her service. She also made sure all my documents were perfect and correct so that I don't have to come back again.

This may be useful for families of three, including those with a 12-month-old baby.
We had booked the Premium Lounge Service at the Surrey BLS Office. We visited twice, and both times the security guard informed us that the internet was down in the building. He gave new appointment dates to everyone and sent applicants back. Since both of us work, we had taken two days off solely for this purpose and had to plan for a third visit. On our second visit, after being sent back, I decided to complete the online OCI application for all three of us. I filled out the forms, printed the applications, and prepared all required documents - including photos, signatures, and thumb impressions for our minor child. During our third visit, I informed the receptionist that this was our third attempt and that we wished to proceed with the Premium Lounge Service. Although all four waiting rooms were full, we were called in within 10 minutes.
The processing officer reviewed our online OCI applications, confirmed there were no errors, and noted that I hadn’t uploaded all the documents online earlier, some of them were missing. He asked for the copies, scanned all our documents, and used my portal credentials to upload everything himself. Within about 10 minutes each, all our applications were submitted successfully.
In total, the entire process took roughly 50 minutes, and we were able to return home and resume work shortly after.

Me and my husband visited BLS brampton ON October 21, 2025. We booked appointment at 9 in the morning. We were ticketed no 97. They were calling no wise but did not call us. When they called nos till 107, i got up asked about my turn,. I thought they missed. But it was knowingly as I did not pay for premium lounge $100. Instead of feeling sorry they started abusing us. Manager told us they refuse to take our file. And then-the security guy came in and asked us to leave and told us he will ban our entry. We both are seniors. You can well imagine about their behaviour. I have their recording and will raise the issue to media and higher authorities.

Basically our file was ready but when we went BLS canada at vancouver location the agent told me your file is wrong we need to make new one from us but it was same application the agent used. In simple they are charging extra money just make nonsense excuse. They are making extra money from the indian people's. This was our worst review with them.

I was essentially forced into opting for their so-called “premium services,” which cost around $100. It’s obvious how they keep funding bigger offices through this scheme. Just like me, other applicants in the “premium lounge” shared the same story: arbitrary “mistakes” found in applications, even when everything was correctly done according to the instructions available online.
One woman told me she was on her third appointment—each time, a new “error” was manufactured despite her double-checking everything. Eventually, she too gave up and paid for the premium service. This is nothing short of a scam designed to squeeze money out of applicants.
The entire process could easily be handled through a straightforward online system, but instead we’re subjected to this humiliating circus. It’s shameful that BLS continues to operate this way, dragging down the reputation of the broader Indian community overseas.
I plan to raise this grievance directly with the consulate and push for a refund of these unnecessary charges. To anyone reading this: don’t expect accountability from BLS—they’ll likely respond with the usual boilerplate “sorry for your inconvenience” message, without any real intention of improving.

CORRUPTED AS ALWAYS One of the worst services at BLS in Edmonton AB Canada. If it would be possible I would give them negative 5 stars. They won’t take your application at all. They’ll refuse it for single word and then ask you to pay $100 to fill the form or they’ll ask you to book another appointment after 2-3 weeks. The appointments aren’t available ever. THIS IS SAME AS INDIA. IN INDIA THEY’LL ASK FOR MONEY UNDER THE TABLE. THEY ARE DOING SAME THING IN CANADA AS WELL. Even after paying extra $100 just to fill the form, it took them 6 hours to complete the application. I entered their office at 12:15pm and got out on 6:20pm. WORSTEST SERVICE AND WORSTEST CONSULATE WEBSITE. There were 50 people there on Aug 30, 2025 and most of them were pissed and had to pay extra $100. I have confirmed from 6 people myself that they paid extra $100. I have uploaded the proof of that too. On consulate website l, the fees in $376 and I had paid $478.65. I have uploaded proof of payment picture on google maps reviews. SHAME ON YOU INDIAN CONSULATE.

I am writing this review to warn others about the unacceptable service I received at BLS International Calgary during my child's passport renewal process.
The Problem:
BLS staff falsely told me that courier service ($60.70 extra) was mandatory for passport delivery, even though their own website clearly states it's optional. When I requested in-person pickup, they insisted it wasn't available and forced me to pay the additional courier fee, bringing my total from $72.70 to $133.40.
Months of Runaround:
After discovering this was against their own published policy, I filed a complaint in early June 2025. What followed was over a month of:
Empty promises of "24-48 hour" responses
Multiple escalations through their complaint system
Repeated template responses with no actual resolution
Being told the refund was "processed immediately" in June, only to wait another month
Only External Intervention Worked:
The only reason I eventually got my refund was because I had to:
File a formal complaint with the Consulate General of India in Vancouver
Escalate to Service Alberta Consumer Protection
Get help from external bodies and other people who guided me through the process
Without this outside help and pressure, BLS would have kept my money and ignored my legitimate complaint.
Final Outcome:
It took over 6 weeks and involvement from the Indian Consulate before BLS finally processed my refund in late July 2025. Even then, they made me pick up a physical cheque during limited hours (3-4:30 PM weekdays only) instead of refunding to my original payment method.
Warning to Others:
Don't trust BLS staff when they say optional services are "mandatory"
Take screenshots of their website policies before your appointment
Be prepared to involve the consulate if you have any disputes
Keep detailed records of all communications
BLS International has a captive market for Indian consular services, and they clearly exploit this position. Their staff either don't know their own policies or deliberately mislead customers to generate extra revenue.
I would not recommend BLS International to anyone. If you must use their services, be extremely careful about what fees you're told are "mandatory" and be prepared to fight for what's right.
Update: I only received resolution after escalating to the Consulate General and getting help from consumer protection services. Other applicants facing similar issues should not hesitate to seek external help immediately rather than wasting time with BLS's ineffective internal complaint system.
This review captures your experience accurately and warns others while acknowledging that external help was crucial to getting your refund. You can adjust the tone or length as needed for different review platforms.

I would like to offer some feedback regarding the current process for submitting applications at your office. I recently experienced a situation where I was sent home due to a minor error on my form and instructed to reschedule my appointment. Unfortunately, the next available appointment was not for another 3–4 weeks, which creates a significant delay and hardship, especially for individuals who may not have the flexibility to take additional time off or travel back and forth.
I kindly urge you to consider implementing a more client-friendly approach, such as allowing applicants the opportunity to correct minor mistakes on-site and submit their applications the same day. This small change could make a substantial difference in the efficiency of the process and the overall client experience.
Additionally, I respectfully suggest that front desk staff receive training in basic customer service and communication. A courteous and empathetic approach can greatly improve interactions and reduce the stress applicants may already be feeling during these important appointments.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I sincerely hope it contributes to positive changes in your process.

I would have gladly given BLS a zero-star rating if the platform allowed it, but unfortunately, the minimum is one star.
The staff at the Brampton branch appear to scrutinize applications for the smallest of mistakes, only to reject them outright. What follows is a troubling pattern: applicants are either forced to reschedule and return for another appointment or pressured into paying $100 for BLS to fill out the forms on their behalf. It’s a situation manufactured to take advantage of urgency.
Many individuals travel from distant provinces, some driving for hours or flying in—only to be met with long, exhausting queues that begin as early as 5 AM. It's a scene of distress, not service. I spoke to several people, and none of them had their applications processed on the first day. Most had to return a second or even third time.
The entire experience brings to mind the bureaucratic inefficiency often seen in some government offices back in India. This is unacceptable. The Indian government should seriously reconsider its contract with BLS or demand significant improvements in their service standards.
