Zac was really friendly and helpful from the start. He explained everything clearly, kept me updated throughout and made the whole process easy. I travelled all the way from London to Leeds for the car, and the customer service was definitely worth the trip. Really happy with the experience and would happily recommend Zac to anyone looking for a car. Thanks again!

AVOID- AVOID

AVOID- AVOID - AVOID
Mis-selling & false advertising.
This company charged me £129 to have a car transfered to Leeds, which I did on the basis of their RAC 200 point inspection pass.
Turns out the car only had 1 key ! Also a deep scratch on the boot.
This was only told to me after an hour & said it was the previous owners fault !!!
The falsly claimed it had passed an RAC 200 point inspection & had multiple keys & bodywork was passed.
They have refused to refund me.
When viewing the car they said I can buy a spare key for £60 .. a lie, the keys are nearly £300 !
Plus I would have had to drive 15 miles to tax it, as they didn't tax cars !!!
They also would not let me drive on any major roads, just round an industial estate !!!
I have complained numorous times for a refund of my £129 & they said not their fault.
I do not trust this company, buy from them at your own risk, the negative reviews speak for themselves.
Avoid at all costs - Cowboys
All my negative reviews I will now leave all over online will cost them far more than £129, thats how thick they are !

REPLY TO THEIR REPLY BELOW ...

You have just admitted in your reply below that the 200 point inspection is to check components are with the vehicle. Then you say it is not used to confirm they are. A Spare key comes with every new car, therefore it is a componant.

You have wrote below .. Quote ... " The 200-point checklist is to check components if they are present with the vehicle; this document is not used to confirm whether accessories are with the vehicle "

The RAC 200 point checklist clearly stated "KEYS" are with the vehicle !!!

Also I notice you didn't try to defend any of my other negative comments above ? No because you know they are all true !

Hi Paul G,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and expressing your dissatisfaction with the service you've received from Big Motoring World. We apologise for any inconvenience or frustration caused.

The 200-point checklist is to check components if they are present with the vehicle; this document is not used to confirm whether accessories are with the vehicle, it also doesn't confirm that a spare key would be provided. Unfortunately, some of our vehicles are ot supplied with a spare key. If a vehicle is supplied to us without non-essential items such as this, we would not look to replace these. The reason for this is to keep our preparation costs as low as possible; this allows us to pass on the best possible savings to our customers.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund the £129 transfer fee. This fee is a payment for a standalone service for the logistics of the vehicle.

Please note that all of our vehicles are sold subject to review. While we make every effort to accurately describe each vehicle, we recommend customers satisfy themselves with the vehicle's condition when viewing it in person before completing the purchase as our vehicles are sold previously owned.

We are sorry to hear that the vehicle did not fully meet your expectations and apologise for any disappointment caused. However, on this occasion, we are unable to offer any further resolution.

Kindest regards,
Big Motoring World

Long processing time

The buying process was made really easy with the initial guy. He left us to look around the car and gave us plenty of time to do this. He made the test drive comfortable and was really nice and chatty. Very knowledgeable about the car. It was a very good experience. The problem was after this. We were left almost an hour once we paid before we had the keys handed over. This really took the shine off the experience to be honest. My appointment was at 3pm and left with the car at 6pm. This is an unacceptable amount of time.

Big Motoring World offers an excellent…

Big Motoring World offers an excellent range of vehicles, and I was able to find exactly the car I wanted. However, my experience was let down by the sales process.

The failure to honour the advertised minimum part exchange valuation significantly reduced my confidence, particularly after travelling a long distance. The pressure to purchase GardX in order to improve the part exchange offer also left a poor impression, and I remain unconvinced that the GardX treatment was fully applied as sold.

Would I recommend Big Motoring World? Yes, because the range of vehicles and pricing are competitive. However, I would recommend that customers consider selling their existing vehicle privately or elsewhere rather than relying on the online part exchange valuation, and I would advise carefully researching GardX before deciding whether it represents good value, as similar paint and interior protection treatments are available elsewhere for considerably less.

Hi Kulwinder,

Thank you for your review!

We are sorry for your disappointment with your part exchange valuation. The online valuation is to be used as a guide only until viewed in person. Our valuation can depend on many factors, and we do value our part exchanges slightly differently to some dealerships, as the majority of cars do go to auction. I do apologise for the disappointment that this has caused.

We are also sorry to hear your concerns regarding the discussion of GardX. Our additional products are completely optional, and we aim to provide customers with information on the benefits and coverage available so they can make an informed decision. We apologise if you felt pressured during these discussions or if the product did not meet your expectations.

Your feedback regarding the sales process, part exchange experience, and additional products has been passed on to the relevant management teams for this to be reviewed internally to ensure we improve the customer journey.

Kindest regards,

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the after-sales service I have received from this dealership.

I purchased my car around 18 months ago and also paid for a 2-year warranty for peace of mind. Unfortunately, from the very first day I collected the car, one of the doors would not lock properly.

Over the past 18 months, I have visited the dealership more than 10 times to have this issue repaired. Each visit involved leaving my car with them for hours, disrupting my day, yet the problem was never resolved.

Eventually, after more than a year, they referred me to a local garage. While that garage managed to fix the original faulty door, another door was damaged during the process and now will not lock from the inside.

When I contacted the dealership again, I was told by someone that because this is considered a "new issue," it would be placed behind older repair requests in the queue, meaning I would have to wait even longer. I find this response unacceptable. The second fault only exists because of the attempted repair arranged by the local garage. It should not be treated as a separate issue that requires me to start the process all over again.

I have wasted countless hours travelling to and from the dealership, waiting for repairs that never fixed the problem, and dealing with the inconvenience of owning a car that still isn't in proper working order despite being covered by warranty.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. The customer service and after-sales support have been extremely disappointing.

Purchased a Volvo XC40 in April and two weeks ago it developed a fault. Still under the 90 day warranty, Customer Service team try and pass the owness on to you, the purchaser to get the issue diagnosed, this is not your problem to solve, and under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the seller has a responsibility to sort the car for you, where they get one chance at putting the defect right or refunding the purchase price if you decide to return the car to them. Wonder if owners Freshstream buy their cars here! When you work hard to save up to buy a car and it develops a fault which puts the car into safety mode when driving is a disgrace. Lack of response or buck passing emails exchanged from Big Motoring World is so frustrating, I am going legal!!!!!

Experience was mixed

I'd already seen the car online and had pretty much made my mind up, so they took me straight to it, left me to have a look around without pressure and then let me take it for a test drive. It was only a short route which is difficult to get a proper feel for the car, but understand that's fairly standard.
After agreeing the sale, I was offered the usual optional extras (tyre protection, paint protection, extended warranty, etc.). I declined them but was then asked which one I would choose if I HAD to. Coincidentally, that (£800 value) product then appeared as a "free" addition to my deal because they said they couldn't increase the part-exchange value but would offer me that instead as a bonus. It did make me wonder whether I’d have got more for my PX if I’d just said no to everything at the outset.
They asked if I wanted to take the car the same day but I asked to come back the following day at a pre-agreed time (again a positive as some places make you wait a few days) so it could be properly valeted and so I had time to arrange insurance and empty my old car. I was also told I'd need to tax the car at a Post Office because it had previously belonged to a disabled driver. It was implied the post office was close by. The nearest suitable Post Office was almost 7 miles away, making it around a 30-minute round trip. I think this is worth making sure people know before hand, both from a time and fuel perspective.
When I returned to collect the car, I waited 20-25 minutes before being seen again (having gone back to reception to ask if anyone knew I was back), and there were several other customers waiting too. The paperwork was rushed which sounds contradictory of me to criticize when I have complained about having to wait, but the after-sales advisor spoke so quickly I could barely pick out what she was saying. It felt like there weren't enough after-sales staff available, despite plenty of sales staff on the showroom floor. It gave the impression that the priority was selling the cars and once the deal was done there was less effort on the after sales, if I am being honest.
The whole collection process, including the trip to the Post Office, took nearly two hours. There was no finance so only the payment and paperwork for the new car and the transfer of my old car.

My biggest disappointment was/is the condition of the car and honestly all the excitement of getting a new car has been spoilt by it. I'd specifically delayed collection so it could be valeted, but it clearly hadn't been. It still smelled of dog (I have a dog myself but I do not expect the car to smell so strongly after a "valet") and was filthy in several areas- mud, dust, dog hairs, crisps. After spending so much money, it was disappointing to drive away in a car that didn't feel prepared. I signed the handover because I simply didn't want to wait there any longer, but I’m now driving around in a dirty smelly car and will have to pay to have it professionally cleaned myself. I was asked for feedback which I provided via email, along with photos, 2 days ago and haven't heard back.

The staff I dealt with were helpful, but the collection process was long and preparation of the car fell well below the standard anyone would expect.

Hi Leanne,

Thank you for your review!

We are pleased to hear that you found the initial viewing process positive and that our sales team allowed you the time and space to inspect the vehicle and complete your test drive comfortably.

Providing a seamless and pleasant car-buying experience is our utmost priority, and we apologise for any inconvenience that the sales of additional products may have caused.

We are also sorry to hear about the delays you experienced during collection and that you felt the handover process was rushed.

Regarding the vehicle preparation, we apologise that the condition of the vehicle at collection did not meet your expectations. I have passed this on to our Leeds Management Team so that this can be raised with the valeting company to ensure that this is improved going forward.

We also apologise that you had not received a response to the feedback and photographs you provided. I can see that a member of the team received and responded to your email 3 days ago.

Once again, I do apologise for any frustration and disappointment that may have been caused.

The staff at Big Motoring World are…

The staff at Big Motoring World are friendly and welcoming, but I suppose that's to be expected when they're trying to make a sale.
Unfortunately, I was in a position where I needed a car quickly after my previous vehicle suddenly died, so I didn't have the luxury of shopping around. I viewed the car and collected it a few days later. By the time I drove it away, it was close to closing time, so although I pointed out that it hadn't had a proper valet, I decided to overlook it and clean the remaining bits myself.
What has disappointed me far more is what has happened since. Less than two months after buying the car, I've already had an under-bonnet warning light come on twice and have had to top up the coolant. That's not something I would expect on a vehicle that has supposedly been thoroughly checked before being sold.
It doesn't give me much confidence that the pre-sale inspection was carried out as thoroughly as it should have been. On top of that, the advertising around the showroom gives the impression that warranty comes with the car, with banners and signs promoting it throughout the building. However, when it came to purchasing my vehicle, I had to pay extra for the warranty, which felt misleading.
To make matters worse, I'm now having great difficulty with the warranty provider trying to get the issue sorted. Rather than having the reassurance I thought I was paying for, I've been left chasing people and dealing with unnecessary stress over a car I've owned for less than two months. It's frustrating and incredibly disappointing.
Buying a car should be an exciting experience, not one that leaves you worrying about warning lights, topping up coolant and fighting to get warranty work approved within weeks of driving away. While the sales staff were pleasant, the after-sales experience has been poor, and I certainly wouldn't expect these kinds of issues so soon after purchasing a vehicle. Sadly, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Big Motoring World.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and expressing your dissatisfaction with the service you've received from Big Motoring World. We apologise for any inconvenience or frustration caused by the issues you've encountered with your car.

All of our vehicles are subjected to an inspection prior to their placement on the forecourt, however, they are all sold in a used condition and on occasion, faults can develop. Often, these are unforeseen and sudden.

All our vehicles are provided with a 90-day standard warranty. However, customers are welcome to purchase the extended warranty.

I understand from your communication with our After-Sales team that, as your vehicle is covered by an Assurant warranty, any mechanical or electrical concerns must be assessed and managed directly through Assurant in accordance with the terms and conditions of the warranty policy. They will arrange for the vehicle to be inspected by an approved repairer, review the findings, and determine whether the reported fault is covered under your policy. For this reason, you need to continue to liaise directly with Assurant in relation to your claim and any repairs required.

If you have any questions at all, please get in touch with our Big Assist team, who will be happy to answer any questions and provide assistance.

Once again I do apologise for the frustration and disappointment that this has caused.

Do NOT buy a car from here I bought car back in December in five weeks the gear box went that got fixed no problem, 7 months later the coolant flange has gone the warranty team are telling me this is not under warranty and is the wear and tear of the car when if I drove the car with no coolant in the engine would blow up so they would rather pay thousands than a few hundred quid to get it fixed. A week of stress over 29 phone calls later still no joys and still waiting on the manager to get back to me regarding the car getting fixed. I would keep well away from this place after the back experience I have had, false advertising poor customer service and a lot of stress you will end up doing all the running about not worth it at all trust me when I say KEEP AWAY and always ask in detail what’s included in the warranty side of it because they will sting you

AVOID, it is not worth the risk

I bought the vehicle on 15th of February a fault appeared straight away with the boot randomly opening. This progressed into the boot not opening at all unless using the key. I informed Big Motoring World (Big Assist) straight away and the issue is still not fixed 5 months after. It has been diagnosed but communication between Big Assist and the garage is shockingly bad. Big Assist have not responded to the issue and appear to hoping that I sort it myself. The garage they allocated is over 1 hour away and they have endless issues in getting the part but it feels like they are just fobbing us off. I went today (they confirmed they had the part the other week) to only be told that they have returned the part and this has happened again. If Big Assist would use any garage or pay for the repair then it would be a completely different review. Oddly the first garage they allocated the repair rejected the job which makes me think that was the first red flag.

I would not go back to big motoring world apart from to reject and return the sale under the Consumer Trading 2015.

I'm glad I didn't get the extra warranty as it's quite clearly a scam.

By the way the repair is simple and I could it myself if I knew the part number. One of the issues with the stop start I fixed myself by using youtube. Some of the review factors in the terrible garage but BMC should be taking control of the issue but they just don't care. Because i had to put my son down to grab the keys to be able to use the fob to open the boot, my little boy almost got away from me and run onto the road. I obviously ditch the car to stop my son but it shouldn't have happened in the first place as the boot should manually unlock.

UPDATE - After almost 5 months the repair has now been completed. The delays seemed to be due to a single member of staff at the 3rd party garage being disorganised and useless. We ended up visiting the 3rd party garage 3 times (not including the initial visit for diagnostics).

I have increased the review by 1 star purely because Charlotte was helping and probably getting the same staff member we were. Big Assist need to take a Bigger lead in their aftersales and warranty issues and not leave it up to the customer. I suspect that if Big Assist were constantly hounding the garage like we were then they would have got to the good members of staff at the 3rd party garage. Hopefully, the fault is now fixed but no real way to tell until I'm driving in rainy weather. However the fault was obvious because the switch had a hole in it where water was getting in.

Shocking customer service - June 2026

Purchased a car on Wednesday 24th June with the view to taking it away that night. Transferred the money for the vehicle and then was told I couldn’t tax it so had to go to the post office the following day. Sales advisor filled out the V62 and I changed the insurance on my car on 25th June as was part exchanging. I then went to the post office the following day and they were unable to tax the vehicle. I tried to call Big Motoring World Leeds but was on hold for 30 mins then kicked to the back of the queue so I had no choice but to take the afternoon off work and drive through to speak in person. The handover colleague completed the form again as said this was done incorrectly and I taxed it at a local post office before being told there was a fault with my new car. I waited 3 hours before it was explained that I couldn’t take it so I had to change all the insurance again. After explaining the situation to the manager his response was ‘we are not in the business to compensate people’ and ‘we sell hundreds of cars a day’ so clearly didn’t care about my experience and the fact I had to take the afternoon off work to try and sort this out after taking my money the previous night to still end up with no vehicle. He did say I would be a priority on the Friday morning and he would call me first thing. On Friday I heard nothing again and was forced to chase again for an update on the car, being on hold for 1 hour before being told nobody was available to speak to me and they would call back. Unsurprisingly there was no return call and no update on Saturday and Sunday. It was left to my Dad to chase an update on Monday and be told the car is ready before collecting on Tuesday. A goodwill offer of £50 towards insurance and a tank of petrol is no compensation for a shocking experience and I would not recommend anyone use this company. To make matters worse just 1 day after driving away it was also found that I had a slow puncture. I should have been excited after spending a significant amount of money on a new vehicle but the whole experience was really poor.

Hi Dale,

We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you faced during the collection process, particularly around taxing the vehicle, delays in communication, and the need to revisit the branch in person to resolve issues.

We also apologise for the confusion regarding the V62 form and the subsequent issues you experienced with taxing the vehicle, and that you felt the communication and updates during this period were not handled as they should have been, and that you were left needing to repeatedly chase for information. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. Regarding your tyre concerns, can you please contact our after-Sales team at BigAssist@bigmptoringworld.co.uk so that they can review this further?

Kia Sportage Purchase at Leeds

I recently purchased a KIA Sportage GT Line from the Leeds branch. According to their website, the car was advertised as having front cameras and heated seats, among other features. I specifically asked the salesperson and was assured these features were included, which was also reflected in the price.

However, when I brought the car home, I discovered these features were missing. In the future, I will insist on seeing all advertised features before finalising a purchase and will not rely solely on assurances.

When I contacted the branch to address the issue, they denied responsibility, claiming they do not provide the specifications and that the features were not listed, despite my having saved the original advertisement as evidence. Even when shown this, they still refused to acknowledge the problem.

Based on my experience, I will not be using their services again and cannot recommend them. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and expressing your dissatisfaction with the service you've received from Big Motoring World. We apologise for any inconvenience or frustration caused by the issues you've encountered with the specs of your vehicle.

The specification on our website is provided by a 3rd party, CAP HPI. This is the industry standard, and whilst every effort is made to ensure this information is correct, we do advise that our customers inspect the vehicle to confirm the vehicle matches their requirements during their viewing.

I am unable to comment on any conversations with the sales advisor as I was not present at the time. However, I can see that you raised this with our After-Sales team, who have reviewed this and advised that it is never our intention to mislead customers in order to secure a sale. If the options in question were described as being included when they were not, this would most likely have been the result of a misunderstanding or an error in communication rather than any deliberate attempt to provide inaccurate information.

We take customer feedback seriously and will ensure your comments are noted and shared with the relevant team to help prevent similar situations in the future.

We apologise for any disappointment that may have been caused.

My 17 year old son bought a car from…

My 17 year old son bought a car from Leeds Branch, great he loved it. We were talked into buying Big Assist Warranty for 2 years which I though great at least he has trouble free motoring for 2 years we were told it covers everything, except wear and tear, unfortunately he had to make a claim shortly afterwards but they paid out and everything was great back on the road. Now my son is in the position 9 month later and has bought a newer and better car and we asked for the warranty which has 15 months to run to be transferred to the new owner. We were told yes thats fine at a £35 cost which was also fine. But then oh no we cant transfer because you had a claim, now forgive me if I am wrong surely it the car that is covered and not my son. If my son had have kept the car surely the warranty would have continued for the further 15 months.

Hi Vicky,

We are sorry about your disappointment with the extended warranty.

I can see that you have raised this with our After-Sales team, who have advised that we are unable to proceed with the transfer of ownership. This is because a claim has already been made against the vehicle's warranty policy. Regardless of whether the claim was submitted under your name or your son's name, the fact that the policy has been utilised means that it no longer meets the eligibility criteria for transfer.

Our decision is based on the policy terms and conditions, which must be applied consistently to all customers.

We apologise for any disappointment that may have been caused.

Kindest regards,
Big Motoring World
