What a mess
What a mess. When I finally found the cell waiting lot there were no bathrooms, please take a cue from the Tampa airport.
Too long at check in
Too long at check in, waited 30 minutes whilst the counter dealt with 3 people. Starbucks staff deplorable and the International Terminal is awful. Few shops, few places to eat and overcrowded lounges. Generall rude staff everywhere.
Totally horrible
Totally horrible. I mean the airport is nice and decent but the TSA when it comes to checking luggage is honestly outrageous. I packed a full bottle of hair oil (along with other hair oils and body oils) and along with pills to help my digestion. After my flight from Hartsfield-Jackson airport to Dallas, Texas, I arrive at my hotel and check my suitcase to make sure everything is there. I find that my hair oil bottle is completely empty ( it was an almost full Mielle hair oil bottle and the bottle was so empty that if you turn it upside down there was not a drop of oil coming out) mind you I had other hair oils that were open and used, but they were not touched nor was the oil taken. I also packed along some name-brand (or well-known) digestive pills (three packs of those as well) I even put those digestive pills in my jewelry bag so no one would touch them; not surprisingly they were gone as well. Not to mention I had other pills that’s for medical purposes stashed in my bag as well (again those were not touched.) None of my family members luggage’s were bothered at all. I would see that if my hair oil was leaking out the solution is to throw it out but no it didn’t leak out at all (it was placed in a bag by me for caution purposes if it did leak) and the bag didn’t even have oil in it which proves that it did not leak out. All I come to say is that this airport houses a bunch of THIEVES in TSA. This is beyond unprofessional and I’m highly unsatisfied with this airport.
Worst place on earth
Worst place on earth. Whoever designed this place was stupider than humanity previously knew was possible
Aweful experience! Concourse Train wasn't working
Aweful experience coming in on a late flight. The Concourse train that takes you to baggage claim and ground transportation is running on limited availability; every hour or longer. Can you imagine 200-400 people walking about a mile to get to ground transportation?! It was horrible. And also the escalators were turned off so people with roller carry-ons struggled to get their bags up the steps...and if your familiar with atlanta escalators you know how long they are. It was horrible watching that. I expected more from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson. Just pitiful. My worst experience yet.
A VERY UNSATISFACTORY EXPERIENCE
THERE IS NO DIRECT TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN THE RENTAL CAR CENTRE AND THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL. YOU HAVE TO GET THE AIRPORT TRAIN TO THE DOMESTIC TERMINAL AND GET A COACH FROM THERE TO THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL. SIGNS ARE MINIMAL AND IT TAKES AN AGE. ALSO, THE ATL EXECUTIVE LOUNGE IS THE WORST EVER WITH LIMITED SPACE AND VERY POOR FOOD.
The last time I had a connecting flight…
The last time I had a connecting flight out of Hartsfield I was accosted on the jetway by a local, uniformed policewoman who demanded to know if I was carrying a large amount of cash that I couldn't explain. The question threw me at first. What was she talking about? She repeated the question. I finally replied, No, I wasn't. I had about $100 on me. She then said I could proceed. As I walked away I could hear her ask someone else the same question. I looked back. It was a young couple with two kids.
It's obvious to me what's going down there in Georgia. It's a police shakedown. If you have a large of amount cash on you they'll confiscate it and divvy it up amongst themselves. You'll never get it back.
I don't travel with large amounts of cash, but it shouldn't be illegal to do so. This is robbery pure and simple.
Now, when I make reservations, I avoid any flights that connect with Hartsfield. The heavy police presence makes me uneasy. The local cops shouldn't even be allowed on the jetway unless they were called there to handle an actual crime.
They stole my jewelry out my checked…
They stole my jewelry out my checked bag and a toy out of my nephew’s checked bag.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. Whatever you do, DO NOT check a bag. If you do, prepare to wait over an hour.
Ridiculous.
If I could give it zero stars I would
If I could give it zero stars I would. What a complete s#%t show at the gates. The bags we brought with us worked at the Detroit airport were perfectly fine. I had to check my bag even though I know damn well it fits under my seat. I will NEVER travel through this airport again. It is ridiculous!
This is the worst airport I have ever…
This is the worst airport I have ever experienced. I consider moving from Georgia because I hate flying from here. The staff is always rude, everything is so unorganized, there is not enough signage to direct me to where I need to go and when you ask the staff they are so unprofessional! I really wish this airport would go under some serious training and customer service development. They lose your luggage and act dumbfounded when you ask how to retrieve it! It makes going on vacation dreading when I know I am leaving from this airport!
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL TRANSIT EXPERIENCE
Absolutely awful airport to transit through.
Non US passport holders treated very poorly.
Took nearly two hours to transit through passport control and security.
Nearly missed my connecting flight.
One security belt for all non US passport holders HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE queuing to get through security. Took nearly an hour to get through. It was disgusting. Loads of staff milling around doing nothing.
No information, no guidance: AVOID AT ALL COST.
Most US airports are awful. Poor customer service. Inefficient. Ineffective.
Just terrible.
They charged for parking twice and it's…
They charged for parking twice and it's very difficult to resolve the matter. They ask you to e mail a random person to get the problem fixed. I'm currently working with my credit card company to get this fixed.
Parking to pick up international…
Parking to pick up international travelers is the worst, get a reservation they yell, I have been looking for help for a year to get a reservation and all sites claim no reservations required. Employees stand around in groups talking and blocking site lines. Then if you step into the arrival area they yell at you to get behind the tape, why don’t they, they’re not offering any service and I’ve been standing here waiting for my families arrival for three hours while my husband’s being driving in circles for a place to park!! Our kids have been on their flights for two days and it’s not fair that we can’t even greet them!! Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport is the absolute worst!!
As foreign You are treated terrible…
As foreign You are treated terrible when going through security. All foreigners are asked to go in a separate line so true segregation and never seen in Europe and I don’t understand why?. Only one belt available and always long lines with belittling staff. Completely unacceptable when you fly business and paid for fast track
Wish I could avoid this airport
The best things about this airport are the food options and the fellow flyers who I always seem to make friends with.
TSA IS TRASH. I don’t usually expect much going through security — delays, waiting, etc are all part of the deal. That’s fine. The people working, however, are some of the rudest and most obnoxious that I’ve ever encountered. Today, this agent was literally yelling and fussing at passengers in a way that was just completely uncalled for. They have a busy security section and everyone was just trying to make it through. There was no need for his behavior.
This airport is miserable
This airport is miserable. It’s so crowded and dirty it puts Times Square to shame. The crowds and lengthy time between terminals make it impossible to make your connecting flights in time. I’ve missed so many connecting flights, that I wouldn’t have otherwise, if it didn’t take 10/15/20/25 minutes to get between terminals.
May I Give 6 Stars?
Anything less than five stars for the busiest airport in the world consecutively over two decades deserves at the minimum for stars… But the logistics, people, food, culture, efficiency, and overall experience at Hartsfield Jackson international airport our second to none. My home and favorite airport to fly in and or out. Eternally blessed to be so close.

I got to the Atlanta airport and realized I left my iPhone charger back at the office. I looked at my phone and it was about dead. I remember taking the charger out of my handbag so it could charge atw before I had to pack the charger back up because I was leaving work that afternoon and going straight to the airport!! Once I got to my gate that’s when I realized I left my charger behind! Ohhh nooo! My phone is almost dead! My son won’t be able to get in touch with me!!! Clients either!! I looked around and saw this little store near my gate. She was the only one near me with a charger. THEY CHARGED ME $44 for a generic charger!! That’s robbing someone!! That’s like $400 % mark up on them thangs!! That’s crap should have a Bede’ attached to it so you can use it on the plane if you have to use the bathroom!! Charging s someone $44 for a generic charger is redunkalous!! It’s robbing someone to!! Your taking advantage of the situation to because you can!! I really didn’t have a choice because I wouldn’t have had a way to get in touch with my son!! See that’s what y’all bank on! THIEVES!!!
The pits
The pits! Unhelpful Delta staff - long waits on the phone to even talk to anyone, extortionately priced food, massive queues everywhere, non existent Wi-Fi, changing the departure gates and sending you from one end of the terminal to the other! Dirty - we never saw a cleaner the entire time we were there. There was not a single hand sanitizer station. No one wiped the seats, the Delta phones or places that people frequently touched. Do I need to go on?
The three redeeming features of this hell hole are the great staff who take your bags when you are transferring flights, a lovely Virgin employee, where cases were retrieved, and last but definitely not least are the people who assist wheel chair users, who helped us, even when it wasn’t their job.
The worst airports in the world are Dubai and Heathrow congratulations Atlanta you are now top the list!
