Airswift cancelled flights from El Nido… NO REFUND

Airswift cancelled all flights from El Nido on the 9 January 2023, due to one of their aircraft landed badly and was blocking the runway.
The staff could give no indication as to when the airport would reopen and advised all passengers to go to Puerto Princesa airport, a 5 hour car drive away and try to get a flight with another airline from there. They informed us a Full Refund would be made. They were unable to offer any other alternative.
As El Nido airport is only used for Airswift flights , there were many other flights and passengers in the same situation.
As it was late afternoon, we got a hotel in El Nido.
Went online and eventually we got a indirect flight to Manila the next day from Puerto Princess with Philippine Airlines. The hotel was amazing and arranged transport, a minibus, leaving at 4am the next morning to Puerto Princesa.
Eventually we arrived at Manila at 8pm the following day, 26 hours late with only 2 hours to get our international flight back to Europe.
After numerous emails and phone calls to Airswift, and many promises from them that a Refund would be made. It is now 9 May 2023 and - NOTHING - NO REFUND.
Conclusion.
Staff polite but totally unable to deal with such an incident . Total confusion at El Nido airport.
Barriers erected to keep passengers out on the terminal, to stand in full sun and heat with their luggage for hours, not knowing what was happening.
Promise of a refund not true. Polite emails over the months from Airswift full of FALSE PROMISES.
I fully accept the closure of the airport was beyond their control, but the way they have handled the whole business was appalling and unprofessional. They came across as a Third World Airline.
I will never use this airline again and will use Philippine Airline, who were excellent in getting us out of there professionally and proficiently.
AVOID SWIFTAIR IS YOU CAN . FIND AN ALTERNATIVE AIRLINE.

Despite problems they were fantastic

Honestly cannot say much bad at all. We had a flight from Manila to El Nido that went flawlessly. Super nice staff etc. Then we had a flight from El Nido to Coron that was cancelled due to aircraft problems. I've never seen such honestly concerned staff. They handled an entire aircraft of angry people, placing them in hotels and giving them info in record time. They were so lovely the whole time. We could choose hotel even and it was really nice (we stayed at Lio Beach). Dinner was included (350php per person, which is slightly low). We got a new flight the next day on a special flight, that had no issues. So despite a setback in our travels and a lost day they were really good the entire time. Can only recommend!

Beware!! Scam Airline

!!!BEWARE!!! IF YOUR FLIGHT IS CANCELLED YOU MIGHT NOT GET A REFUND!! Our flight was canceled at the last minute and basically we were given a bottle of water and told our refund would be processed as soon as possible. They confirmed a week later it would take 30-60 DAYS!! to issue the refund. 60 days passed and they said it is still "processing." It has now been about 75 days and still no refund!!

These are not the actions of a company that is financially solvent.

Do not buy any tickets, this is a scam company

Our flight was cancelled and they did not refund my tickets, so they basically scam you to get money and one you have paid do not respond to any email.

I would encourage the authorities to investigate this company for fraud.

Can't reach the departure city because of a typhoon and the airline just says we'll loose the tickets

For 3 days I have tried to contact Airswift. I have called every possible phone number for more than 20 times and sent several emails to let the airline know that my family and I weren't able to reach El Nido in time to catch our flight with them leaving to Manila.
There was a typhoon in most areas of the Philippines, there was no flight or ferry available for days. Missing the flight was not a voluntary decision, as it was caused by a natural disaster, unless we went to El Nido swimming, there was no way we could reach the island.
My first request was to re-route the flight, since I was in Coron and needed to reach Manila anyway.
After so many attempts, they finally answered it saying no re-routing or any kind of refund was possible.
I purchased those tickets for months in advance and not only had to loose the money I paid for the most expensive tickets of the trip, I had to buy new ones on the spot. Do you have any idea how much that cost?
Knowing that the Philippines faces natural disasters all the time, not having a policy to assist the tourists in those situations or any kind of flexibility just seems like a greedy company that doesn't care at all about customer's experience.
It was the first time we bought anything from them and for sure can't recommend it to anyone.

Finally received my refund

My flights got cancelled due to the pandemic so I cannot comment on the experience of flying with them. However, I am writing this to reassure others as I received my refund today without constantly contacting them. I requested my refund in March and sent a follow up email in August (to which they politely responded saying it was still being processed). It has been very frustrating to have to wait so long and was starting to think I was never going to receive the refund so was very happily surprised when I finally did.

I had many flights booked that got cancelled, and I am still waiting on other airlines for refunds so AirSwift is not the only one taking so long.

I still hope to visit the Philippines in the future and would be happy to use AirSwift again.

The airline took my money for my flight…

The airline took my money for my flight booking and then didn’t send me the flight confirmation details. I have been trying to contact them for a few weeks with no success. Very poor and will be taking this to my credit card to get money back if they do not respond to any of my communication efforts.
