Falsely Advertised Scam

I signed up in May 2020 and was already charged for the second box before the first had even arrived. When the first box did finally arrive, it was clearly just a box of random leftovers and bore no resemblance at all to the advertised 'Birthday Box.' I emailed them to query this and was told the the box is "a surprise-based subscription and... we cannot guarantee that they match with the exact articles which are reflected on the leaflet." So basically they falsely advertise a box and don't send you even one of the things you expect to receive.

Edit: Vivacats reported this review and tried to have it taken down but after providing proof of this to Trustpilot, the review stands. Please avoid this company!

Cats loved it and not just the box this time!

I must admit I was first worried about this as I was expecting the box on the 29th and it wasn’t here, but customer service was exceptional with helping me track down my box. Any way the box turned up today and lots of tasty treats for my cat as well as some fun filled toys, my cats usually enjoy boxes alone but with this box my cats were happy and intrigued with what was inside and they looked so happy when they realised it was a box for them, I will definitely be subscribing.

Avoid! Probably a scam!

I was really looking forward to receive my box. Ordered and paid for my first "trial box" on the 2nd of May. Over a month later, I haven't received anything at all! However, I was charged full price for the next box. I did contacted customer service, they simply cancelled my subscription but won't refund me, or tell me where my first box actually is! Not worth the stress. Unclear website, awful customer service. Don't bother.

Poor value and atrocious “customer service”

I purchased a box from this company for £4.99 on the 4th May 2020. On the 26th May 2020 a further payment of £19.90 was taken from my payment card, but I had not received any boxes. I contacted the company via email demanding an explanation of why they had taken additional payments and they responded 3-minutes later with a template email claiming that I had signed up for a subscription and the first box was a “trial” box. At no point during the checkout process was it made clear that I was signing up for a subscription service, and even more shameful is the “cancellation deadline” is the 26th of each month but the real kicker and proof of their scamming ways is the “trial” box is only sent out once they have taken your first subscription payment.

The terms and conditions they claim bind you to an agreement is nothing short of trash, and they are clearly copying and pasting formats across various brands. The contents of the box is worth no more than £7 (all available via online retailers) yet they are charging £19.90 a month. The latest box for
June came with 6 items, one available widely for 29p!

They delete comments off Facebook when you criticise their product instead of engaging in conversation and their recommendations are filled with suspicious positive reviews, which all state the “amazing” value for money yet when you highlight that the contents can be bought for 36% of the value of what they charge, they delete it.

They use template emails in response to complaints about subscriptions with pre-written content, my initial complaint email was responded to within 3 minutes, so they must be recieving a high volume of complaints for them to have to generate a template email.

Avoid at all costs!

Edit: they reported this review TWICE (and it appears every other negative review on TrustPilot) despite it being verified with TrustPilot, as a breach of guidelines because it goes against their company line and calls them out for the rubbish they are selling and the incredibly difficult and sometimes shady business practices they employ.

Absolutely awful experience, currently stolen £40 from me

Absolutely awful experience. Currently scammed me out of £40, here's a timeline:

1. ~19th April purchase £5 trial box.
2. 29th April told my £5 trial box is unavailable, offered a refund. I accept.
3. 29th April told I will be charged for May. I reply asking to cancel my plan.
4. 20th May chase Vivacats, they tell me my initial £5 is refunded. I ask about the unwanted full price box.
5. 22nd May continue to try and cancel. Told box is on it's way.
6. 1st June charged for ANOTHER box. Still received no box, still impossible to unsubscribe.

In short, they will completely ignore you when you ask for a refund, don't let you unsubscribe, and don't even seem to send out any boxes.

I see no evidence whatsoever that this isn't an intentional scam.

AVOID THEY ARE SCAMMERS

AVOID THEY ARE SCAMMERS
I’ve contacted bank who are following it up for me but I had paid for trial box 21st April then they took another monthly fee on 26th saying I should have cancelled subscription before that date - how can I do that when I’ve only just paid for April already and not received it! Neither have come at all and they’ve ignored 4 emails, 2 Instagram messages and fb messages and comments. Just seen on here others saying same thing and I haven’t got a dispatched note on my file so assuming it means they were not even sent. I will be looking into reporting to trading standards this week

Horrible company

Horrible company, they refuse to honour their own terms and conditions and when presented with evidence that they are wrong started quoting FAQ section as if its part of the contract. DO NOT BUY their system is old and does not prove you with any information you has submitted to them (address bank details etc)

Edit: vivacats is going through and claiming bad reviews as false and trying to boost their score by removing bad reviews. I got mine reinstated by providing evidence to trustpilot I had made a purchase.

Awful Experience

Awful Experience,
Ordered my box on April 16th (supposed to be delivered in the last week of the month) wanted to see what it was like and hoped to have time to cancel the next.
The box arrived late, so at one point I had paid for 2 boxes and not received a single one.
The box arrived - 4 really rubbish products inside, would have been better off going to Poundland, Wilko, Pets at home or Zooplus.

Have had so many issues trying to cancel this and request a refund. Emailed before I even received my box to cancel and not even send the next one. (3-4 weeks notice) and they refuse. They want to still send me the box, for me to raise a return and have to go to the post office to pay postage to send it back.

AWFUL company! Other companies have been adapting at the moment to help people who may be out of work due to Covid-19, not this company!

Avoid like the plague

*update* vivacats is now reporting all negative trust pilot reviews in an attempt to remove the truth. I sent all the evidence to trust pilot who verified my review as an accurate experience. That tells you all!!!*

Avoid like the plague. Was enticed by the £4.99 trial box on the 28th of April. I didn't want to be tied to a subscription right away so I contacted Viva Cats to say this. It took them days to reply and with me threatening to take legal action if they took any unauthorised funds before they confirmed my subscription was cancelled but I was still due to recieve the £4.99 box I paid for. Today on the 14th of May they message me to say I will NOT be receiving the box because "it was sooo popular the exhausted all of their supplies and I won't be getting a refund"?! "what a JOKE. What if I liked the box so much I restarted a subscription?? We will never know and I wouldnt touch vivacats with a 10ft barge pole. I can't imagine in any world how they would have used all their supplies. Blatant lies.

Cat cinema gift box

Just got the cinema pet gift box through for our cat Pingu & he loves the food/treats. We will definitely be repurchasing. This is a great way for your cat to experience different and diverse pet treats/food and get fun little toys. He also loves the box, maybe more than everything else !

Money taken for 2 boxes, nothing received..

I signed up and paid for April’s trial box. By 4 May I still had not received the trial box (not had any notification of its dispatch) and I was charged the full price for the May box.

I emailed to ask for cancellation of any subscription, and for a refund of the May box - I think it opaque and unfair to charge for a second box before the company has even shipped the first.

I then (conveniently) received confirmation that the April box had been dispatched, followed very swiftly by a response to my complaint to say that the April box had been shipped (seemingly just minutes earlier, on 4 May) and that they would not refund the payment for the May box (which I don’t expect will be shipped until June) as I hadn’t cancelled before 26 April.

It’s now 11 May and I have still received nothing from this company.

God awful service.

God awful service.

Was charged £5.90 for the trial period and then £19.90 for the first non trial box before even receiving the first box.
Both boxes contained nothing worthwhile, can hardly even justify paying the trial price of £5.90, let alone the full price. You can expect around 2 catnip toys, a tin of cheap cat food, a bag of treats you can pick up for less than £1 at your local shop and 1 miscellaneous item. My miscellaneous item was a flea comb. Why?? Why would I subscribe to a cat toy/treat subscription service for a flea comb?? One that isn't even good quality? Absolutely ridiculous.

The customer service itself is nonexistent. If you want to cancel, good luck. Instead of offering the easy option EVERY other subscription service provides by letting you cancel through your account, you have to email in and hope they stop charging you.

Would avoid.

I wish I read these reviews before…

I wish I read these reviews before ordering. I saw the £4.99 trial box and decided to try it. I haven’t received this yet but they have taken £19.90 out of my account without permission.

I wasn’t able to log into my Viva Cats account to see what was going on, tried to reset my password but kept getting errors. I emails and received a response within 24 hours.

When I emailed again to complain about not receiving my box and the unauthorised payment they have ignored me!

Emailed numerous times with no response and now unable to contact on Facebook. Reported to Facebook and from reading the reviews I’ll have to contact my bank to stop any future payments.

Can’t believe how bad and unprofessional this company is. Complete scam! Will also be reporting to trading standards! Suggest everyone else does this. Although I see there are some happy customers there’s more bad than good. Take my advice, avoid, save the loss of money and stress. Treat your cat to something else.

Amazing products with great value!

Amazing products with a wide range of variety! The products are so cute and there's never anything the kitties don't love, gives them something extra to look forward too and the food and treats are health conscious and high quality. Great value for money!

I will NEVER order again, take orders they cannot fulfil

Ordered two boxes, one for me and one for my sister in law, got an email stating they had run out of stock (They don't send until the 25th but still accepting orders!) so will refund, no confirmation email for this, or to say my subscription has been cancelled, I asked for this and got ignored.
No time frame for the refund either! Emailed on Facebook too, so hopefully I will get a reply there, seems I am not the only one.

Things run out of stock, i get that but it is totally unprofessional to take orders for items you just don't have, hell a message on the website stating they are out of stock and will send for next month would be better!

I will NOT be ordering again, if I don't get my refund by the end of the week I will contact my bank.

Don't buy from this company!

This company have taken my money and, as with so many other people not as yet provided a service. They took a further payment from me before I had had a chance to review the product and agree I would like a second box - My partner had also ordered through them too for our kitten, so that was an extra £40!

When we contacted them independently of each other, they told both of us we had received an email cancelling the £4.70 box. Neither of us had received this email. They advised us we could receive a refund for the £4.70 boxes but not for the full price box as I should have cancelled my monthly subscription. The email I have received says they have cancelled my subscription but it's still showing as active on my account and I have not had a refund for the £.4.70 box!

Update. Since posting this review. I have received £4.70 back for one of the trial boxes, but await a refund on the other box ordered by my partner. I think it's really poor customer service to cancel the special offer box but keep the full price box on order, it would have built greater customer trust if they had reduced the full price box to £4.70 as recognition of their error. Or given me the chance to cancel considering the box is not sent until the end of the month, so it's not like it had already been dispatched! I sincerely hope the £19 boxes arrive as planned! And are worth the money.

Avoid!!

I ordered a £5 trial box without reading the reviews properly (my own fault) and I am still waiting for this box... not only am I still waiting for this box to arrive, they have gone and charged me another £19.90 for a second box I didn’t even agree to buy! I have emailed them 4 times stating I would like to cancel, and I have had no reply from them whatsoever!
I have had to get my bank involved to stop all future payment from this scamming company!
Disgusting customer service!
Avoid at all costs!!
