I have learned so much

I have learned so much! I had taken several classes by a teacher in person. But starting on basics with Julia’s academy has corrected many things that I was doing wrong. I have learned how and what to practice. I have picked up things from other students playing and the teachers response. They are quick to respond if you need help. I couldn’t be more pleased!

The best type of learning

I went in search of violin lessons which was more affordable than in person lessons and knew of Julia through her you tube videos. After some research I thought let's give it a go and what an superb decision it was. There were things I was doing wrong which I had no clue about until Victoria (violin teacher) pointed out and then gave solid advice through a video. You can also play back these videos as often as you need to get the technique right. The online community is fantastic too as you all get a chance to practice the same piece in the 'challenge of the week' and post your video. This academy really is worth it.

I loved this adult program…

I joined the academy for 3 months and also added the extra program unlock your Vibrato course. This academy is wonderful for any adult who wants to start violin or is stuck trying to learn on their own. The academy is well structured with great teachers and positive reinforcement. I have been playing off and on for years and never was able to get out of first position or do vibrato correctly. After finding where I fit the best in the program within days I was playing in 3rd position. I love her exercises and easy to understand videos. For those who need encouragement and reinforcement with daily practicing there is plenty of encouragement and tips for that too. You can also meet other struggling adult players and feel comfortable uploading your videos or joining a group session. I only quit because I am now ready for one on one private lessons with a local teacher. I am a member of 2 other programs and this one helped me the most because it has different levels to choose from which was ideal for me.

Try The Vibrato Course!

I started violin Suzuki method when I was very young, never learned vibrato, then started up again when I was in high school. As an adult relearning, I was never given any instruction in vibrato, so I appreciated the details in this course. Sometimes I was impatient with not getting enough songs to practice vibrato, just mostly exercises, which is why I gave it 4 stars! However, in general my experience with Julia’s Violin Academy has been very positive and fun!

Unlock your Violin's inner Vibrato

I have been a member of Julia's Violin Academy for a number of years. The course I am still working through, "Unlock Your Vibrato", has been so helpful. The staged approach provides step wise refinement and works well for me. It is a deep topic, takes time to work through. I recommend this and other courses that are available through JVA!!

Hello everyone

Hello everyone. My name is Binah Delille, I live in Laval, Quebec in Canada and I would like to testify to the benefits and advantages that I have gained in my study of the violin since I became a member of the Julia Violin Academy (JVA). Since my childhood I have dreamed of playing the violin. Three years ago I started studying on my own by reading a lot about everything I could find on the violin and especially by watching a lot of videos. This is how I immediately noticed the educational quality of the videos and articles on the violin on Julia Violin Inspiration's site. As an engineer by training I try to understand everything, to master everything and I have and still have a lot of questions. However, I had seen the adverts for Julia's violin academy and thought it wasn't for me. Today I am happy because I found everything I was looking for to progress on the violin on the academy website: there is a well-structured plan to learn from the most basic level to the advanced intermediate level. The videos are clear, the scores are well presented. Julia explains in great detail what to do and how to do it to study. She has a whole dedicated team with her who answer questions and lead practice sessions. With the community of other members you are never alone and several practice sessions are offered each week supervised by the academy teachers. Finally what I like the most Julia offers challenges every week for all levels and that's what makes me progress the most.

If anyone is serious about studying Violin, Julia Violin Academy (JVA) is the right place and surely a very good investment. No regrets.

Finally I want to say thank you to Julia and her entire team for this wonderful work, please don't stop because I need you for a very long time to come.

Binah.

Extremely satisfied

I was a bit apprehensive about taking an online class for violin, but I am happy to say it was a great decision. Julia’s explanation of techniques are easy to follow and have already changed the way I practice! I’m having more fun and feel myself improving much faster.

Great course for an adult learner

As an adult learner, it’s very difficult learning such a difficult instrument as the violin. I often get demotivated but Julia’s Practice Smarter course helps me to really hone in on practice techniques to keep me focused.

I have been (was) a JVA member for six…

I have been (was) a JVA member for six months and can honestly say that I learned a lot during my membership. As a much older adult learner (75 years young) I harbor no illusion about becoming an accomplished violinist--I merely seek to learn as much as I can in the time I have left on the planet. JVA provided structure, focus and LOTS of useful reference material to help guide me. I did not participate in any of the online group learning options available to JVA members--although there were frequent reminders to do so--but after six months of membership I feel I have received enough guidance, instruction and materials to independently pursue my violin aspirations. In short, lots (LOTS) more practice and not more instruction is what I will focus on the in the year ahead.

My experience from the violin academy

Your guy’s violin academy has been always helpful and has provided all the support and learning materials required for a student to progress. I personally think that is very crucial as it plays a main role, when it comes to learning music. I so love the experience to contact you guy's over email. Thank you all!

Observations From A Newly Enrolled Student

Although I am both a new student at JVA (20 days and counting) and relatively new to music learning--despite my advanced age of 74--I am a life-long learner and a teacher in a former life. I know the difference between effective, structured learning and a scatter-shot approach and I have been very impressed with the materials and options included for all students at Julia's Violin Academy. I've always considered myself more of an independent learner--not much of a joiner--yet I find the JVA materials both inviting and engaging, a feat not easily accomplished through online learning platforms. The JVA approach is one that I can highly recommend.

The challenge

Howdy folks; My name is Verle Coon, I'm working on Lynda's (my wife) computer, that's why her name appears from time to time. I'm the violin student, not her. After trying to teach myself how to play the violin with books and the free stuff on the internet I could see that there was no planned step by step continuity with each adding to previous steps. I like the planned progression.
