Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 62 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers found the service to be very helpful and a necessary part of buying a car, providing valuable insights into a vehicle's history, faults, and potential issues. They appreciated that the service could save them from scams and headaches, offering a good understanding of what they were considering purchasing, often at a reasonable price compared to competitors. Some also highlighted the ease of use and the detailed information provided, with the free check often being considered excellent. However, a significant number of people expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing, feeling that the checks were too expensive for the information received, especially when similar details could be obtained for less or even for free elsewhere. Many reviewers felt misled by the product offerings, as they often had to pay extra for service history reports, even after purchasing what they believed to be a 'full' or 'comprehensive' report. There were also complaints about inaccurate or missing information in the reports, including incorrect vehicle images, false red flags, or a lack of data for which customers were still charged. Payment issues, such as being charged multiple times or experiencing difficulties with card details, were also reported.

Saved me losing £9500

Used this site to check a car I was going to buy and thank God I did. Vehicle score showed me a score out of 100 and used the MOT history and mileage to advise whether the car was worth it or not. Considering the car was up for £9500 and had a score of 218 I voted against purchasing. Thank you!

Absolutely rubbish results must be made up

Cars 34 years old not a spot of rust only failed one mot in its lifetime done 3000 miles in 20 years and is 1.8 carburetor engine and it states it's below average and common faults dpf filter 😂 how are you working out your scores you must be absolutely mad to believe these scores with response to your reply many new vehicles will be scrapped or have many issues by the time they get to 30 years old just because a car is older shouldn't mean it isn't any less reliable and also a older car / classic car is more looked after than a newer car generally still don't agree with your scores as it should take into account all factors and not favour newer cars !!!!!!

Hey Richard.

Our scoring system is made for people looking to buy reliable, long term vehicles. Without knowing the registration, we can not respond much to this. However, you state the vehicle is over 34 years old, which would put the score down compared to a 3 year old car for example. Our common faults are powered by users like yourself emailing about their experience owning that make model, and therefore we display this to hopefully help out some of our users.

Big hitters on the score are:
Age
Average yearly mileage (stood still cars tend to become unreliable)
Mileage (high mileage indicates wear)
MOT history

The website is made for the general users looking for a reliable vehicle without needing much knowledge on vehicles.

I hope this helps clearing things up!
