Need claim resolved

United car care had bayview cadillac break down my engine 4 different times on 4 different inspections just to deny claim.United car care said the reason to deny claim was that a bolt was found in cylinder 6(reason to get out the claim in my view). After going back and forth Kevin agreed to pay 75% of claim . Now my escalade is sitting at the dealership with a $4973 bill. The situation is a nightmare I purchased the warranty for $5000 so problems like this i wouldn't have to worry about when i brought the escalade in jun 2022 from Hgreg with 75k miles and the motor failed at 114k miles which is still under extended warranty. Been without my Escalade since 2/27/24 as of now its 8/01/24. The escalade is the family vehicle I NEED IT BACK! I will file a complaint with the department of insurance if i can't get a resolution. Last 6 of VIN 151717

"Hi Javian,
Of the $15,604 we've paid in claims on your vehicle to date, $9,426 went into this claim alone. One would think this should be significant enough to show that we do not look for reasons to get out of claims. Debris within a cylinder, particularly debris as large as a bolt, is similarly not a "reason to get out of (a) claim". Rather, it was a valid reason for your claim to have been denied entirely, but we generously agreed to cover 75% for you. Let's be perfectly clear - this repair was entirely your responsibility, but we covered 75% as a (huge) favor to you."

Daniel, Katie and others in the service department are top notch. We were late and they still took care of us as if we were the most important customers of the day. The service was more than expected.

Utterly unprofessional

Utterly unprofessional, if I could give -037 stars I would. Absolutely disappointing and devastating. Horrible customer service, every person I talked to had a massive attitude. People hung up on me. Not covering the issues even though I have platinum coverage. This took a major poll on my mental health and completely ruined my life.

Purchased one of the most expensive plans. One lower than the best. I believe platinum. Head gasket blew and they won’t cover it. They want me to pay more than have the cost of 5500…. Ryan was horribly rude and even hung up on me.

No Problems Mon

Everything was seamless and my dealership service consultant remarked how quickly the payment was received and how pleasant his interaction was with United personnel. Further, he remarked this was not typical when dealing with warranty companies. So, nothing to complain about. Unusual these days.

Denied coverage for what??!

I am pretty disappointed in my experience with the adjustor I had a couple months back. Now I do not remember his name. I contacted them after finding out that my truck had an issue with skipping timing after the fuel pump detonated. The fuel pump issue was taken care of by Stellantis (a very long and stressful battle), but after contacting the claims Rep for United care care, they decided not to cover my repairs because I could not provide all of my receipts for my oil changes. I am one who changes my own oil. I take care of my vehicles and enjoy doing standard maintenance. I was told there is nothing they can do, if i can not provide all receipts, then they cant cover it. Mind you, I moved cross country via a truck and trailer a couple years ago. I misplaced my receipts in the mix but have always kept a log of services I have done. This of course, was not suitable for UCC and still denied my need for a claim. I feel when you pay top dollar for platinum coverage, it should come with some compassion and understanding. And not met with saying policy is policy and their hands are tied. We are all human and companies like this should take that into account and do their best to help their customers out, instead of finding the easy way out of doing what they are supposed to. Which is be that place to go when in need of vehicle repairs or troubles. I am just highly disappointed in the lack of effort and ease of moving on from UCC. I shouldn't feel like I am a victim because I don't have receipts.

Hi Eduardo,
When you spoke to Kevin on 4/26/24, he explained that we were covering $3,552.00 in repairs under the claim in question, and that despite having inspected the vehicle on three separate occasions, the shop was unable to produce/show a failure in the rear differential. Unfortunately, you chose to become beligerent during this conversation, yelling and swearing at Kevin. Despite his warning that he would disconnect the call, you continued this behavior, so Kevin, rather than listening to you yell and swear, ended the call. While we understand that car repairs can be frustrating, our employees are human beings, doing the best they can to utilize your policy to pay for repairs to your vehicle, and they do not deserve to be verbally attacked. That said, we are happy we were able to cover over $3,500 of this claim for you and hope that you can treat our adjusters more courteously when speaking to them in the future. Refernce #1415238.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. when we bought our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan less than a year ago, the dealer talked us into buying a platinum plan from United Car Care. we were hesitant but finally gave in and spent the $3,000.00 to get the plan. I was in Florida and my oil change time came up so I took it to a local shop. They changed the oil and told me that my cv axle needed replaced. I knew that it would be covered but did not want to get t done in Florida. On my way home I noticed my check Engine light came on and a distinct ticking was coming from the motor so I came home to KY and took the car to my local Dodge Dealer. My dealer told me that the cv axle needed replaced and the boot was wearing on the brake line. They called United and they were told that the cv axle was not covered and they would only pay a percentage of what it cost to open the engine up to diagnose what is wrong. We were sure there was a miscommunication, so we called United ourselves. The man who we talked to was absolutely condescending. He said we should of replaced the boot so it did not wear on brake line and the policy says they don't cover anything that is from a lack of maintenance. He said that they would pay a reasonable amount towards opening up the top of the motor. NEVER AGAIN will we trust a warranty company. I would give UNITED CAR CARE a minus 10 if I could.

Hi Alan,
We want to clarify some details concerning this claim. Firstly, you're conflating two separate issues - the CV axle boot/brake line issue vs the tapping noise and engine "running rough" (as stated by the shop).

Issue 1 - CV axle boot & brake line: According to the shop, the CV axle boot detached and damaged the CV axle and brake line. Your wife's contract does not allow coverage of components that are damaged by a non-covered part. The CV axle boot is a non-covered part, so any damage it causes to other parts is not covered.

Issue 2 - Tapping noise from the engine/the engine running rough: This is the issue for which we've requested a tear down. We need to know what, specifically, is failing and causing the reported problems. We've been in communication with the contract holder and are awaiting her approval for tear-down.

You'll note that we've also approved repair/replacement of the failed power door lock actuator and, though the shop could not find anything wrong with the CD player, agreed with the contract holder that the shop can look again to try to diagnose what's going wrong with it. We are doing as much as we possibly can within the terms of your wife's contract and hope we can be of more help as the rest of this claim unfolds.

United Car Care is a SCAM

On 1/12/24, I contacted Niello BMW & Niello Mini to purchase a vehicle. The interest rates were high and my truck is already paid off; thus, I decided against purchasing a new truck. Niello provided me with a second option of buying a warranty from United Car Care. This seemed like a great idea. I purchased the warranty and felt confident in my decision. On 2/15/24 I noticed my truck seemed to be slipping so I called Roseville Chevrolet and made an appointment for the next day. Roseville Chevrolet could not even get authorization from United Car Care to remove the transmission pan to review the transmission fluid. First, authorization was needed from a senior manager. Then on 2/19/24, I was informed a claims adjuster needed to be sent out. The claims adjuster confirmed there was an issue with the transmission when they test drove my truck. On 2/20/24, I was asked for all of my records of servicing my transmission. Obviously, this would take time to locate. On 2/22/24, I was informed the claim was denied by Kevin Rabinovich as he determined this to be a "pre-existing condition" as the warranty contract was "new" and I had only driven a couple of hundred miles since I purchased it. I work remotely and do not drive much anymore. Additionally, I was out of town for five days. Although this should not matter as the warranty does not state any length of time needs to pass before it can be utilized. I pulled and paid for my own CARFAX report which shows all of the service done to my vehicle including transmission service. I emailed this to United Car Care and I left a voicemail for Kevin Rabinovich on 2/23/24. I have not received a phone call back or a response to my email. United Car Care needs to be reviewed by the Department of Insurance so they can be held responsible for executing contracts which state the coverage terms start on DAY ONE of the contract; Yet, they deny claims without ANY proof of "pre-existing conditions" because they do not have any proof. Why would Niello BMW sell a warranty on a vehicle with a "pre-existing condition"? Exactly, they would not! If you are experiencing a similar issue, I encourage you to make a claim to the Department of Insurance especially if you have also been scammed by United Car Care. Their insurance number is 0021184.

"Hi Summer,
The information you submitted was reviewed by our Claims Manager yesterday, and we contacted Roseville Chevrolet at 1:37 PM PST (prior to your review) to move forward with the claim. We left messages for Roseville at 2:05 PM PST and 3:21 PM PST and are awaiting a response so that we can order the replacement transmission.

We hope you can understand that when a breakdown occurs, especially one as costly as a transmission replacement, some people unfortunately attempt to purchase a policy to have that repair covered. Additionally, policies can be sold without a vehicle inspection, so dealers can sell policies without knowing if a vehicle is experiencing a mechanical failure. All signs initially pointed to your vehicle having a transmission problem that existed before you purchased the policy. Section E (What is not Covered) 1r. of your policy excludes ""Repair or replacement of a covered component or part to correct conditions that may reasonably be assumed to have existed prior to your contract sale/purchase date". However, our review of the information you submitted clearly showed that the vehicle (specifically, the transmission) had been properly maintained prior to your purchase of the policy, which is why we proceeded with the claim.

We would ask that you consider reevaluating your review, as we did approve the claim prior to your post. Reference #1409109."

"Hi Orlando,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand it can be frustrating finding out a repair is not covered, especially when it's your first claim on a vehicle you purchased so recently. Not to put too fine a point on the matter, but we do cover bolts and fasteners when allowed by the customer's policy. The policy you purchased does not include coverage for this type of hardware, so we had to say no this time. Hopefully, as other issues arise, we'll be able to help you with those out-of-pocket expenses."
