An amazing 5 day pastel challenge with…
An amazing 5 day pastel challenge with Artist Nina Squires and Unison Colour! I learnt so much about the different techniques and alternative ways to use pastels and gained more confidence with working on landscapes. Unison pastels are really the best, love the colours available and their versatility. There is no other medium for me…
So grateful for the time and effort that goes into producing these totally free workshops! Highly recommend Nina Squires as a tutor and Unison for the superb quality of their soft pastels !
Clear instructions and fun activity
Clear instructions and fun activity. Picked up a few tips.
A very worthwhile course
I am new to pastel painting and this course was a superb introduction to working in this medium. It provided clear demonstrations of the techniques involved in a very enjoyable way. I am sure that experienced pastel painters would also have benefited from Nina's enthusiastic, friendly and highly professional approach.
Thank you Unison for making it available.

I thought Nina's teaching style was great. Very clear instructions. My only let down was my own inferior pastels.

Amazing 5 day pastel challenge with Nina Squire and Unison. Great tuition and printouts of instructions. Easy to follow and great fun using new techniques. Nina is lovely and very personable, she did great live demos and was very supportive of the group. I look forward to the next one.
A beginner
This was my first Unison Challenger event. I am a beginner & absolutely loved it. I worked with my Starter 18 set of pastels, on pastel paper & have been inspired to subsequently buy two more sets of Unison pastels (botanic & landscape) & hope to have more success in my own time with better equipment. Nevertheless I learnt so much re technique from Nina Squires who was such a brilliant, natural teacher & mentor. I shall look forward to more such opportunities.
Brilliant pastel workshop
Brilliant pastel workshop. Excellent tuition and so enjoyable. I learned a great deal and the step by step approach really helped me as a beginner with pastels. A great opportunity to try Unison pastels too and I can really see why people rave about them, they are just lovely to use.
Great painting challenge once again.
I have just completed another 5 day pasteling challenge with Unison Pastels and artist Nina Squire. The subject was the famous Durdle Door rock formation on the south coast in Dorset. Once again there were hundreds of artists taking part from all over the world, and feeling part of such a community, where we put our works in progress on the group site, and ask for and receive help, is great. Especially after being so isolated for the last two years.
The artist Nina is superb, a great artist in her own right and a very good teacher.
Over the 5 days we had daily steps to complete, following worksheets and short daily videos. There was a Q & A session each evening that provided further help and guidance.
Thanks Nina and folk at Unison for putting these events on. They are great and, unbelievably in this day and age, completely free to take part in.
5 Day Pastel Challenge with Nina Squire
I’ve just completed a wonderful 5 day pastel challenge working on Durdle Door with artist Nina Squire. This type of pastel painting is new to me and not really in my style, but Nina was marvellous with her tutorials, explaining every new technique so well! I’ve learnt so much and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and now looking forward to taking part in her next workshop. The support from Unison during the week was fantastic and to offer it free of charge was amazing. Also the support and camaraderie of other artists in the group was terrific. Thank you so much, Nina & Unison for delivering such a fantastic event.

An Inspirational Week
What an amazing week arranged by unison pastels and artist Nina Squire. Learned so much and lots of new techniques. Never thought I would be able to achieve such intersting results. This 5 day challenge was made extra special not just by the fantastic enthusiasm of Nina and the beautiful Unison pastels but by the support and encouragement of over a 1000 other pastellists taking part from all over the world. Thank-you Unison and Nina for giving up your time and effort to put on this wonderful event.

Nina Squire 5 Day Pastel Workshop - GREAT!!!
I just completed a 5 day workshop with Nina Squires, put on by Unison Colour. This is the second 5 day workshop I have attended, and I LOVED it. The format (daily video tutorials, pdf instructions and live Q&A) makes it easy to learn and access the teacher for help. And my Unison Pastels assure me of a high quality pastel painting (well, the materials, anyway!). I can hardly wait for the next workshop! Thanks to Nina, Helen and Oliver of Unison! Congrats on another successful workshop!

Unison and Nina gave me my 'mojo' back !
I can't put in enough words to express what an emotional impact this has had on me this week. I haven't painted for about 5 years, prior to which I had painted seriously for 30 or more. Thank you Unison, Nina and all of you in the background there for making this happen.
I have signed up for The Haven Seascape on 5 March and ordered the pastels to go with it. I have always wanted to paint water so I couldn't resist this opportunity. I have got my 'mojo' back !
