No warning in the app about the preauth amount being £45 (per session), and you have to DIG through the FAQ pages to find out how long it takes to release (3-5 days, sometimes longer). So now out of pocket, and never known such a high amount needed to pre-auth!

Useless network. 7th April at bank of three Mer chargers. One blocked by overstayer (not Mer fault) one not working. Untethered only worked with operator assistance. 11th April - bank of four chargers. Two out of order. Third said occupied but it wasn't. Fourth apparently OK but wasn't. Spent five minutes on phone to operator who failed to get it working.
P.S. Now that they've replied (see below). The out of order chargers were in Winchester.

Tried to use the charging point in South Shields last night. Wouldn't accept contactless. The parking area is Pier Parade NE33 2JS

I had some initial issues with the card payment. I plugged the car in, but when I tried to pay it just beeped and didn’t do anything, eventually timing out. I scanned the QR code on the charger and registered via the website (not the app), then unplugged and re-plugged the car, after which it worked fine. I’m sure next time it’ll be much simpler.

Don't take American Express Card for accounts.
Pathetic. Big company all using American Express for travel expenses cannot use Mer chargers!!!!! WHY NOT LET A PROPER CHARGING COMPANY HAVE THESE CHARRGER SPOTS SO PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY USE THEM!

Took my car to charge , ended up costing me £18 for 10%, about 20-30 miles, in 2 hours of fast charge, is this the electric future we are being sold? I think not , internal combustion all the way. Joke

Went to Worcester Garden center while visiting family and needed to charge. All the fast 50KWH chargers had a symbol (maintenance in progress) also 3 out of 5 had the cables cut off!! There were 2 22Kwh chargers free where you used your own cable, I tried both of these twice, took forever to fill out in the app, every time it put a £45 hold on to bank account (total £180) as every time I tried it said getting power. So I left it for 10 minutes, no power came so no charge and that’s the reason I tried twice on each charger! Now 2 days later that amount is still on hold on my account…. After checking another app these chargers have not worked in a long time!!
Beware of the charge this company holds and for how long they keep your money!!!
Have emailed today waiting for a response!

. Used a 50 kw charger in west bay , Bridport priced at 78p per kw somone parked next to and on my return my charging speed was down to 20kw The cost of my charge for less than 70miles was £19.56.🤬
Useless. Tried to use contact less...'incorrect card'...no further assistance. 20 mins in...still not charging.
I tried to charge using the app. For some reason my payment was rejected. From this point onwards both the app and my car showed that charging was not in progress, but the machine thought it was in use and would not release my cable. I spent half an hour on the phone to someone who could not locate the charger in her system. Eventually she found a colleague who was able to stop the non-existent charge and allow me to depart.

Charged my vehicle overnight I stopped charge and presumed the price 17 ..it said at the end was it . I now have a pending payment comming out for 27… and I do t no why how’s electric charging the future when these extra charges are happening first time I’ve done this and doesnt build me confidence. In using Mer uk again feel robbed …moral of the story it’s not straight forward using a charger last minute as they are extra charges within within ..I’ve learnt from my mistake and will use alternative charging stations

At Mer charger in Rother Valley. Downloaded the app. Charger does not show on the app. No ability to connect. Have phoned their ‘dedicated 24 hour helpline’ - currently at 10minutes ringing and still no answer… it is telling me to ‘continue to hold and your call will be answered shortly’ but not holding my breath

My closest charger is unfortinately MER. They are consistently either not working or slow. Claims 'upto 150, but never gets close to that.

I used a Mer charging point in Ryde on the Isle of Wight Quay Rd car park Today it would not accept a contactless payment I called the number on the machine he did a complete reset of the 50KW chargers it still wouldn’t accept any contactless payment he then told me my only option was to download the mer uk app and sign in as a guest and then promptly hung up
My other question is why am I charged £45? even before usage of the charger as you have to give your card details is this a little scam the company have ? seems very odd to me
I will not be using mer charging points again

How have I got a pending payment of £40 from Monday 28th April when I didn’t even use one of your chargers! It doesn’t even show that I used a charger on your app and I actually used a pod point charger at my place of work. So either one of your chargers is using my card for others to charge their cars or you are stealing money from me.

BCP Bath Road South Bournemouth - contactless not working so paid by ZapMap app, needed restarting then inexplicably stopped charging after 45mins. Not very impressed

It’s not working, waste of money and time. Disgusting

Poor. Tried to use app. Failed. Tried to use zapmap. Charged me £30 then failed. Finally charged using card. Had to use emergency reset the charger to get anywhere. Lyme Regis

Warning!!
Asking Google to 'navigate me to the nearest charging point' took me to the MER site at Winnall recently.
I have today received a £100 parking fine incurred while charging at this point, as unbeknownst to me, while I was charging, and not parking, you are required to pay for parking on top of the charge fee.
Charging was fine, while not particularly fast once you jump through the download app / create account process hoops
