Tymit used to be a fantastic product. It enabled responsible management of personal finances, and if you were good with it, you would never pay interest if you paid things off within 3 months of purchase. I began to move virtually all of my spending to Tymit. As is natural, occasionally I would make a larger purchase and choose to split payments up over a longer time period. So they made their money from me there, and i have no doubt others were the same & they charge at a higher rate than other cards I already own. But I continued for the convenience. But now Tymit have removed what made them unique, and began to charge for all repayment periods at a rate of close to 30% APR. I will be phasing out the use of my Tymit account and returning to my other credit providers, the highest of which charges me 23% APR. You ruined something good, I always used to rave about Tymit and recommend it to all my friends.
Edit: I've noticed their cookie cutter response to this criticism in other reviews is "it was a tough decision in these times of financial pressure we could not continue"
You're going to experience a whole lot more financial pressure when you don't have any customers left because you no longer offer anything that's better than other providers.

This used to be a great card. Split payments into 3 months plans with no fees, now this has gone. Their support is dreadful, no phone number just a message in the app. I’ve had a really simple request which would take minutes to sort out but my matter has been almost a week. Totally useless support and now, also, not a very good card. I’ll soon be closing my account and taking my business else where.

Nope, this still hasn’t been resolved.

Never had a problem with the card per se: apps easy to use etc, but can't access my app since I changed to a new phone, and have been waiting over a week for some sort of resolution, despite almost daily emails to them. The couple of replies I've had from customer service have been pleasant enough, if ineffectual, and the promised escalation to the technical team hasn't resulted in a contact to fix my issue. I can't use my card, because I can't use the app to see what my spend is, pay it etc. My last few emails to customer support have went unanswered...

Hi, I thought Tymit was a really useful credit card when I needed to improve my credit score. When I applied they had 3 months free on purchases but have now removed it comply. The app is fantastic and really easy to use with all the information you need. I have now left because my credit score has Improved to a card that gives free months on purchases.

... it's difficult to think of a reason to keep the card, so I haven't.
First of all, TP doesn't offer separate reviews of Tymit the company and Tymit the card, so I've gone for the middle ground of 3 stars: because although there is no longer any reason to consider their card, I found the company to be "okay".
The USP I referred to, was the 3-month interest-free period. Given what's happening with interest rates, I entirely understand this: interest-free cards across the market are fast disappearing, so it's no surprise that a smaller provider like Tymit have followed suit.
But Tymit's standard APR is distinctly uncompetitive: you see similar rates from provider's offering cards to people with poor credit ratings.
The other notable feature of Tymit is the ability for you to decide the repayment period and the app provides a "purchase simulator", so you can see the cost of X amount of credit over Y period of months.
But this method of repayment meant it should only be used for occasional purchases, otherwise the repayment periods for different purchases overlap and the monthly bill varies significantly. Something to be cautious of, if you're on a tight budget.
It's also worth noting that the repayment of each individual purchase needs to be replanned, which would be tedious if you were using it for daily spending, given the app can be glitchy in this regard: replanned payments didn't always appear to register, so you go back to do it again, but it had already been replanned, but it didn't appear to register etc etc.
Uniquely (in my experience) irregular/manual payments require you to use your personal reference (rather than just your account number), otherwise they won't be allocated to your account. I found this out when I transferred the balance to another card, prior to closing Tymit.
Customer service is only available via non-live messaging, with (from my limited experience) something like a 24-hour initial response and they were pleasant and efficient enough. So, preferable to inadequately staffed off-shore call centres, as long as it's not urgent.
So to summarise, you have a card with an uncompetitive interest rate and the ability to plan your repayments via "time" rather than "amount", from a decent enough provider.
I'm no expert, but it's difficult to now see a place for Tymit in a crowded and competitive market.

Tymit was a great product to start with, an easy to use credit card that showed you upfront what it's going to cost you, with instalments and interest.
Fast forward to the previous 2 months, and they've really gone downhill. Not only have they decreased my credit score once, as of today 25/07, they have decreased it a second time. Support is virtually non existent, their social media channels no longer updated, and doesn't fill me with confidence in the long term future of the Tymit product and service.
They're no longer taking on new customers, which also raises doubts about Tymit's financial stability and product.
It's a shame that it's come to this. Now Tymit is out of its infancy, there are many providers that are doing a similar product/service to this, an example being Monzo's Flex product, which pretty much is the same thing but rolled in as a package with your current account.

Great credit provider; the product itself was probably the best credit card I've ever used (the app also works brilliantly). Only reason I left is that my credit score improved and I found a better deal with another company.
My only complaint is that the support can be slow, at times.

Had my card for a little while but barely used it. They offer extremely low credit limits, their foreign transaction exchange rate is far higher than Halifax Clarity and now they have started reducing their offer. In my case they have halved my credit limit without any real reason and have now removed the only real benefit of the card which is the 3 month 0% instalment feature. They’ve removed this for everyone. I don’t really see this as a competitive offer and would refer to use my banks cards it’s a shame really, their customer service is quick and polite. They just lack the power to be of any real use when you speak to them. Not worth my time or money so I have closed my account with them today.

I'm presently not using my Tymit card, just simply running down the amount still owed. I'm still debating on what benefits the card will now have without the 3 months interest free deferred payment plan. Unless someone can highlight some added benefits for still keeping and using this card then I'll probably just through it to the back of the wardrobe, to never to see the light of day again

I was a customer of Tymit and as I a customer I actually had no issues. I closed my account a few months ago due to no longer needing the card.
I had used the card to book tickets for a concert that has now been cancelled following the advice from Ticketmaster I waited 15 working days to contact Tymit to inform them my money should have been returned to them .
I received an message from Tymit asking me to confirm my bank account and said once confirmed they would refund the money
I heard nothing since I confirmed my bank details, not even a reply to say we recieved you email and the money will be transferred to your account in so many working days.
Hoping this will be resolved before the end of month or my next step is reporting them to finical obsuman.
Its nearly 300 pound and whilst that may not be a lot to people it is a lot to me have now contacted them 4 times and nothing. It is so disappointing because as a customer never any issues and always helpful, how things change when your looking for money owed to you.

Someone defrauded me, using my Tymit card. Obviously not Tymit fault (hopefully) but the response I’ve had from Tymit has been truly disgusting. I first reported on the 19th May. They then contacted me a very small amount on the situation. But then I found out on the 16th June that the issue still hadn’t been put through to the fraud team. I’ve now not had any response or contact from Tymit since then, with 8 unanswered messages from myself. There’s not even a contact number, so I can speak to someone!

Tymit have dropped their 0% 3 month option which made them unique, their customer service sucks and they will give you 15 minutes warning before reducing your credit limit.
They are no longer any better than a below par credit card with customer service to match. They will be sold soon to a big corp and subsumed so I suggest you don't bother with them.

Tymit used to be innovative and a great help when budgeting for larger purchases. The interest free facility over three months was particularly helpful, but sadly this feature is due to end. Although I understand the issues around increasing interest rates, frankly there is no longer any reason to continue with Tymit. Regrettably, I will be closing my account.

the credit card number is easy to read, even in bad light. the tymit app is also very user friendly, competitive rates, excellent customer service, i would recommend

Tymit is very flexible to use more than other credit cards I have found it's simply easy to use the three months you get of 0% Interest to pay off things is very helpful. I would recommend Tymit to anyone, but I wish I had a higher upper limit, but this does depend on your credit rating I hope you find this helpful. Please keep improving Tymit

Generally no problem and when I have it has been sorted very quickly which 8ncludes a few rogue traders who have spammed me. Great customer service

Was a great credit card. Instantly choose the repayment period and you repay the purchase rather than it being on the never never. But with the withdraw of the 3 months interest free it's just an expensive card now. Just running the outstanding balance down to 0 in coming months and will close the account.
