We bought 10 roses from them, and some of them arrived broken. Three of them have blooms, yet each of the 3 has a different color bloom. Their pictures show red roses yet I got one red, one pink, and 1 pink/white. The customer service said the different colors are the result of different sun exposure and refused to do anything. Saying I needed to wait for 3 - 4 weeks to let the roses adjust.

I ordered three plants that arrived water logged, smooshed in one box, and terribly stressed. Reached out to Trees.com with photos. They asked me to give it time. I didn't buy these plants to be a critical care nurse. They sent end of season, back of the barn plants and want me to nurse them back to health. I will never use this company again.

Plants arrive wilted and shipping damage. Replacement guarantee is hoax!! Products quality and packaging/shipping have declined in the past year. NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!

I’ve bought from them before no issues. You’d think they’d want to keep an established customer happy, but when they messed up they wouldn’t admit it. I ordered a shrub variety upright plant. What i received was cultivated to be a tree. Clearly has marks of all lower branches being removed. After an hour AN HOUR with customer service they were like- ugh yea that’s how it comes young and the website doesn’t show that well. Not happy but I moved on, but they keep harassing me for reviews. Newest email shows the picture has been updated to show a tree….. went to the site and pictures now show an AI slop tree picture AND the shrub version with a caption that says plant may or may not have lower branches?!? So now future customers get to gamble!?! Is it a tree?!? Is it a shrub!?!? Order and find out???? Updating the site essentially admits their mistake but did they make it right with me? NOPE

Trees.com took my money and sent me a tree that arrived looking dead.
I received my Forest Pansy Redbud sapling on July 27, 2026, and it arrived in absolutely terrible condition. The soil was completely dried out, the tree was severely wilted, and the leaves were completely desiccated. This was not a healthy tree that simply needed a little time to adjust—it arrived looking like it had been neglected before it ever reached my door.
I immediately watered it thoroughly and misted the leaves in an attempt to save it. I continued caring for it indoors and gave it every opportunity to recover. It didn't. After 17 days, there was absolutely no improvement, no new growth, and no indication that the tree was recovering. The tree became rigid and looked like nothing more than a dried-out stick.
I contacted Trees.com customer support, expecting them to stand behind what they sold me. Instead, I was told to wait another 30 days to see if the tree improved and to reply to their email within that 30-day period. I followed their instructions and replied within the required timeframe.
And then—nothing.
No response. No meaningful follow-up. No resolution. No accountability.
I did exactly what their customer service representative told me to do, only to be completely ignored afterward.
This has been an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience. I paid Trees.com for a live, healthy tree and received one in severely compromised condition. Then, when I reached out for help, I was given instructions, followed them, and was subsequently ignored.
In my experience, Trees.com is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They took my money, delivered a tree that appeared dead or severely compromised, and then failed to stand behind their product or provide meaningful customer service.
If you are considering buying from Trees.com, BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Don't waste your money like I did and don't expect them to take responsibility when something goes wrong.
I absolutely do NOT recommend Trees.com.

Ordered 2 trees from them which arrived pretty much bare root & half dead. Notified them, but planted them any way as they required a picture of a scratch test near base of tree which showed they were “alive” at first. Planted them & watered them hoping for the best. They both died. Tried to get a refund & they would only issue store credit & it took a lot of texts & calls to get that. Ordered 2 more trees. The new trees arrived in a little better condition (at least they had leaves), although one was not the correct variety. Sent multiple pictures of the incorrect tree & they kept trying to say it was a Cherokee Brave when the leaves were a totally different shape. Do not recommend ordering from here!

My trees arrived with exposed rootballs and they didn't give me the 20% discount they were supposed to. My review hasn't posted on their website and NOW I find this morning that they sent another order for the same thing that I didn't order! I'm out over $400, the trees are puny weak things. Go somewhere else!

Trees and plants are fast dying, not fast growing. Their customer support is focused on Artificial Intelligence, although they claim otherwise. I would NEVER, EVER recommend dealing with this compay.

⭐ Buyer Beware — Buy Local Instead
I ordered 180 arborvitae trees from Trees.com with confidence because they proudly advertised a one-year warranty. Because we were planting in November, I was concerned about making such a large investment that late in the season, so I called before ordering to confirm the warranty. I was assured that the trees were covered for one year and would be replaced if they didn’t make it.
By spring, more than half of the trees had died. When I called, I was suddenly told I had just missed a six-month warranty. I explained that their website advertised one year AND that I had specifically called before purchasing 180 trees to confirm it.
I asked for a supervisor. The gentleman told me he checked their records and they showed no record of my original call, then offered to replace only 30 trees.
Fast forward four months. I called again hoping to finally resolve the situation and was now told there was a 60-day refund policy and that they would allow me to purchase replacement trees at a 30% discount.
So somehow I went from being assured of a one-year warranty before purchasing, to being told it was six months, to hearing about a 60-day refund policy—and their solution was for me to spend even more money with them.
Save yourself the hassle and the money and buy locally. For the thousands of dollars I wasted on this order, I could have hired a local company to deliver and plant much larger trees—and I wish I had.

My order arrived late. It was of no real use to me as it was for an event that happened the day before arrival. Disappointed, I asked for a refund. Trees.com denied the refund and offered a 30% discount. Not wishing to lose all my money, I accepted the discount. The next day the plants arrived. The box was sitting on our front stoop on its end. The top of the box said “this end up”. All ten rose bushes were crammed into the end of the box. Dirt everywhere. Plants crushed by pots.
I took a photo of the box and flowers all jammed together. I sent a report to trees.com with the photo only to be told they need pictures of each individual potted plant (I didn’t take individual pictures), so nothing could be done.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY — there are other options.

All the trees and bushes I received were great, I had fruit on all the trees first year I received them. So Tree.com livee up to their promise. I can save money on purchasing trees locally but my trust in Tree.com is sold for many years.
Thank you Tree.com

Bought $500 worth of trees during a huge sale. I thought I was getting such a good deal. All were miniature compared to description, all arrived damaged. I ordered 2 arborvitae trees, they were literally a TWIG! I paid $15 more at Lowes and got real trees 10x the size. One never showed up at all, they told me for 2 months it was "shipping next week" and I finally got them to cancel the order. I was able to nurse half back to health, one is actually doing okay now, 5 of the other plants never recovered from shipping and died, but Trees.com said they were still alive and I hadn't given them enough time to bounce back (like I'm an idiot that doesnt know when a plant is dead) and I could not use my arrive and thrive guarantee, the one I paid extra for, if my plants were not dead. It wasn't until they were completely just brown sticks that they offered me store credit, how nice... so I can buy more crummy plants from them. Stay far far away. I will go to local nurseries for now on, or even Lowes or Home Depot in a pinch, they are all considerably cheaper if you compare the true sizes, and those companies actually stand by their plants, unlike trees.com.
EDITED - Please see their joke of a response below if you want to see how much they care about helping.

I have purchased a lot from this company. Yes, sometimes FedEx,UPS, or the carrier can be a little rough on a box. I don’t feel I’ve ever lost a plant because of it. The plants I have lost were replaced. They do want a lot of pictures but warranty replacements do cost and no business wants to get scammed out of merchandise. I’ve gotten everything I expected from them so I’m happy and will continue to buy from them. The biggest thing is the big box stores are far more expensive, especially considering trees.com has free shipping, and they don’t give a warranty in most cases I’ve found. When I compare, I’d take a chance with trees.com any day over the big box stores. Full stop.

I ordered a plant and because i was ordering the plant I ordered some soil and fertilizer. They cancelled the plant and when I called to cancel the fertilizer and soil it had supposedly been shipped even thought I never received A tracking number or ship notification so they would not cancel. I will not do business with this company again.
I changed this review as I appreciate the response from the company. I wish this could have been resolved with the initial phone call but the response was appreciated.

Being a huge nature lover, gardener and tree lover - I'll admit there was skepticism ordering trees on line but, I can't wait to get more. Ordered two trees and they arrived quickly - packaged very well protected. Sadly one did not make it - the other is thriving. Customer service was very helpful with getting a credit to me. The entire process from the order forward was seamless. Customer service staff were very helpful and supportive. I'll definitely be ordering from Trees.com again.

I bought an apple tree. It arrived and was planted. I then discovered that it wasn’t going to produce apples (unless I bought 2 apple trees). I am not an apple tree expert. I didn’t even know to ask and the website buries this information behind a link. I feel mislead and misinformed. I called the company and they offered a discount code… which I could not apply to the second apple tree I now have to buy in order to get apples. It feels tricky and the response from the company was absolutely inadequate. Management didn’t seem at all interested in correcting this “oversight” and if management can’t be trusted, neither can the company. There are many options for trees. I recommend skipping this one.

Very friendly and knowledgeable about the plant I was considering purchasing The representative offered much more information than I expected answering questions that I didn’t even know I had! Kudos on a job well done!

Such a trash company, horrible customer service. Bought 10 trees they came with little to no dirt on bulbs to start with very weak looking . Went step by step with google info and also contacted them multiple times a year asking questions about how and why and what can I do . Get info from them use said info and then to be told info given was wrong tough luck. What a trashy business. Multiple emails back and fourth . Bought these trees after researching best trees for my area then asked them also if these would grow well . Was told yes . Come to find out it’s no based on them but Google and ChatGPT say yes my area and soil is the best . They don’t wanna give a refund nor a new set of trees. I planted these in multiple areas of my property. To test each area . They were shocked from the beginning and wouldn’t come back . Showed photos and sent information about each tree what amount of water what amount of sun what kinda soil and then to be told sounds greats in the first few months to spending hundred to try and save them and then now be told it’s all wrong . What a bunch of crooks
