I purchased an ingredient directly from The Formulary for cosmetic formulation and was extremely disappointed with how the product was supplied.

The powder arrived in basic packaging displaying only the supplier’s name, ingredient name and weight. There was no batch or lot number, manufacturing date, expiry or retest date, or accompanying technical documentation. The only paperwork provided was my invoice.

For a company specialising in cosmetic formulation ingredients, I find this particularly concerning.

Without batch identification, how is a customer supposed to independently verify that the material received corresponds to any Certificate of Analysis subsequently supplied?

I contacted the company on 19 October 2026, provided photographs and requested clarification regarding the product’s traceability, manufacturing information and quality assurance. As of 26 October, I have received neither an acknowledgement nor a response.

My concern is not simply the absence of paperwork. It is the inability to establish the identity and traceability of a raw material intended for use in skincare products.

I expected considerably better transparency, accountability and customer service from a specialist cosmetic ingredient supplier.

I have now decided to pursue a refund through my payment provider.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this supplier for cosmetic formulation where reliable raw material identification and traceability are essential.

Judging by other reviews, I’m not the first and unfortunately may not be the last to have had bad experiences with this retailer.

after reading the reviews i was very skeptical after ordering as i didn't receive email confirmation HOWEVER !!! my order came 2 days later, with RM tracking and no issues very pleased ! thanks again!!!

This website takes your money, then absolutely nothing happens.
I placed an order on 16 February. Nothing delivered. There was also no email confirming my order or notification of despatch from the seller. A week later I emailed the address on the website to ask what's going on. No reply.
So I've asked my credit card provider to claw the money back.

I purchased ingredients in December 2025. The experience was appalling.

· A liquid item arrived leaking, with about 1/4 wasted due to terrible, cheap packaging.
· Another product has an expiry date of January 2026, giving me barely a month to use it. This was not disclosed at purchase. Selling such short-dated stock without warning is completely unfair.

I emailed them after New Year's and have heard nothing back. No apology, no offer to fix it. Absolute radio silence.

This isn't just poor service—it feels like a scam. They took my money for damaged and nearly expired goods and are now ignoring me. This likely breaches UK consumer law.

I found them via Formula Botanica. I will be reporting this to them directly, as students should be warned.

Do not trust this company. Save your money and avoid the hassle.

I have reviewed the 5* before and wanted to do so again.
I order regularly, and I've never had any issues. I recently ordered Betaine, and it arrived quickly with the batch code and expiry date.

I ordered some products and contacted the company as none of the products have the batch number or expiry date on the label which is a legal requirement for selling cosmetic ingredients.
Someone named Sharon got back to me giving me attitude saying the batch number is on the documents, however this is not stated on their website. When I replied saying no wonder she gets so many bad reviews due to her bad attitude she replied GFY (go f*** yourself), so I will never purchase from this company again.

There is no contact number, so any issues cannot be sorted out quickly. I've emailed them 3 hours ago over payment issues on website, still waiting.
Doesn't take much to improve this.

I have orderd for 50 GBP now no email nothing. DO you have phone number of any representative from this company?

No batch numbers, no best before dates, no ingredients, no response to emails.

This is a real shame as they offer some good products, but can't use them for my business if no paper trail, illegal labelling and no customer service.

This is my second review as I've placed more orders since then. I love buying from The Formulary. They have products I can't find anywhere else. Delivery is super fast and order updates are sent after ordering. The products I've found are of good quality.

I wouldn't recommend that company to anyone. I ordered some goods from them,they came without batch numbers or expiry date. There is no telephone number on the website so I contacted them via email,they replied after some time that they not able to put that information on the label cause they extremely busy 😅 So I've sent the order back and waiting for money return from them. I wish I've read all the reviews before I ordered from them

The scamming must stop.
Please make sure you don’t use bank transfer or a debit card with this company.
After being cheated by The Formulary I’ve taken the “reporting criminal activity and fraud” route because that is exactly what is being done. Orders paid for aren’t sent out and this is fraud.
I wish I'd seen the online warnings about her previous trading name of Forever Young. Her other company SRRT labs is being struck off according to UK companies house so please be very careful about parting with any money. This information is all in the public domain, so please investigate before purchasing.
Now trading under the name The Formulary and still taking money and not sending anything. Please contact the police if you have paid money to Sharon and not received your order, they want to hear from you - this needs to stop.

A very odd company who pretend they've sent your order when they haven't. They won't respond to emails about tracking ....hmmm. They refuse to actually use tracking because then you'd see they hadn't even sent your order. They lie and fabricate, leave you worried and stressed, they're hopelessly disorganized, unreliable and flakey and worst of all they try to blame the customer or start inventing strange excuses for why you haven't received your order. I've now had to involve my credit card company after weeks of being let down and lied to by them.

Unfortunately having a Company with no phone number becomes a problem only when there is a problem! I've been ordering off and on for years with them, sometimes great, good value, relatively fast shipping, good quality. However, when there a problem it so goes south. Sharon doesn't reply to emails to update me about my delayed order, and now I'm desperate for the ingredients and might have to cancel orders for products I have waiting. I ordered a month ago. Was told its coming in stock the next week, ok to wait? I said yes. However that was now 3 weeks ago and despite emailing (only way to contact them!) several times, I've heard nothing. So they took my money and so far I have nothing. No product, no explanation ! The stress is unbearable. I won't use them again after this terrible experience.

I wish I could give them a 0 This company are complete scamming thieves. Do not touch them. They have sold me £245 worth of products and won’t supply the paperwork. They are ignoring me. I cannot use the products they have sold. Do not use them. Terrible company

Have used this company two times very impressed with the quality of these bottles they do not leak and look nice. Took 3 days from my bottles to arrive

I wish I could give 0 star. I ordered products almost 2 weeks ago, but I didn't receive a confirmation email for my order. I contacted them, and they replied that they had my order, and they sent me a confirmation email after that.
I've been patiently waiting for my order, but I'm yet to receive it. I've sent numerous emails without any response from them. This is the last time I'm ordering from this scam of a company. I wish there was a way to report them. I'm so angry that I wasted my hard earned money.

After reading the reviews here I was sceptical about ordering from this company. However I emailed Sharon and told her my concerns re the reviews. I received an email straight away and spoke to Sharon. I ordered my ingredients, Sharon kept me up to date re my order and delivery. First class service , would highly recommend and will be using this company in the future.

Absolutely disgusting service! Products arrived wet and sticky and one of them was leaking. Box (inside) and invoice wet too. When contacted them I was accused of lying and they said I did it myself!!! (Like I have nothing else to do). I have sent a lot of photos to proof! But nothing helped.
Please don't purchase anything from them looks like this is their common practice.
