Will never use this company again. Utterly atrocious.

Return to China

This is a Chinese company and on their website it is not clearly easily visible when you buy products from them that all returns have to be sent to Asia.The products are not european sizes and in reality do not look like in the pictures on their website. Decide for yourself if it is worth buying from this company when Temu has much better prices and excellent return policy for the same asian products

Waste of money

Ordered a dress, it came, it was awful! I paid £50 for it, i could've made it myself for £10. Returned it at a cost of £11 postage. They claim they never received it. I will NEVER order fron this company again. Wish i had given that £60 to charity.

Stay away from LightInTheBox

Update of February 24,2023
I am changing my original rating from 1 star to 2 stars as the customer service finally reacted. At the time of writing this update, I am still in correspondence with customer service about the refund. Although 3 out of 3 ordered items came in wrong measurements, they agreed so far to only compensate about 70% of the original costs.
Here is my original review - with some editing points:
Short summary:
1) customers have no basis for informed decision as LighInTheBox are only publishing positive reviews;
2) their product descriptions and size charts are misleading;
3) poor quality both in terms of materials and in terms of work;
4) sizes and measurements are random - at least in my two orders 6 out of 6 items came in wrong measurements;
5) customer service will react if you are lucky to get your ticket open, and they will offer you only partial refund, or a buying credit (to lure you buy more crap from their site), otherwise they offer you to ship the items back to China at your cost hoping that it will eventually get reimbursed to you one day...
And here is my original review:
My latest experience buying from LightInTheBox (january 2023) resulted in 100% failure. Three items out of 3 came in wrong measurements. I ordered a pair of jeans for myself and two cardigans for my husband. After consulting with their specific size charts for each product, I ordered Large for myself, and 3XL for my husband. My jeans came way too big - waist is 86 cm instead of 80; hips are 116 cm instead of 106. In addition, the zipper quality is very poor, and the button-fly is so weak that it practically falls apart. Two men's cardigans came of two different sizes, although both are marked 3XL, and both are way too small. The red one: bust is 118 cm instead of 134 cm (!); shoulder 51.5 cm instead of 57 cm; length is 71 cm instead of 80 cm. The dark-blue one: bust is 130 cm instead of 134 cm; shoulder 54 cm instead of 57 cm; length is 75.5 cm instead of 80 cm. As you can see the difference is not 'some 1-3 cm' as they note below the size charts! It is randomly between 4 and 16 (!) cm. All photo proof is available. As before, my attempt to write a review in their site was in vain - as they ONLY publish positive reviews, so just as before, my photo-proved review never got published. My attempt to contact customer service and report about the problem to them (open ticket in their language) unlike before, worked this time. From February 5 until today, we are still in correspondence with customer service. After escalating the issue to Supervisor I got the offer of about 70% compensation of the original costs (although 100% of the goods came in wrong measurements!)

My conclusion: stay away!
Product descriptions and pictures as well as size charts are misleading; reviews are strictly moderated so that you only see positive ones. So, you have no basis for informed decision at all. Contacting customer service is impossible through their site. You can only request return/refund and hope that someone will eventually get back to you to offer some discount for your next garbage purchase from them, while they will flood your mailbox with ads. My advice - stay away from LightInTheBox.

The oil paintings are superb

The oil paintings are superb. If you know how much oil paintings are normally, you can't beat this company. The quality is very high, the brush strokes, texture are great. Most of us are not art connoisseurs, and care not for Mona Lisa's or Monet's. There contemporary vibe paintings are exactly what most people these days like. I will continue to purchase paintings.

I bought a light and unfortunately, only a part of it worked. It did take a bit of time, but I was able to get my light fully refunded after a more senior staff member called Bloo, stepped in.

Overall, I would be cautious with lights (because the voltage of countries is varied), but cushion covers, and especially the oil paintings, I wholeheartedly recommend.

Refund on Bag

I ordered a bag, which when arrived did not meet my colour requirements. I returned it at great cost to China. I was very concerned whether I would receive a refund so escalated it to Brandon. He was amazing, keeping me informed and explained the options available to me. I received a complete refund as a result.
He turned what was initially a bad customer experience into a very positive experience. He is a credit to the company.
I feel if I had not escalated my concern to Brandon my review would have been quite different. Thank you so much.

n my opinion

n my opinion, a company you can trust. I ordered for the New Year's decoration that arrived after the new year. And if I could keep it and save it for the next new year, I still decided to return it. I contacted the service, they were very kind, professional, so they solved my problem very quickly.

Extremely substandard service: Mixing of wildly different sizes under the same Indicated Size Label. Denials of responsibility, minimal partial compensation.

I have had 3 orders with them. One was lost.

They charge Western European shipping costs, but deliver still way beyond 2 weeks, which LightInTheBox justifies as counting only from the day of dispatch, not from the day of order and since dispatch is invariably a whole week after ordering, they always deliver late. They are not regulated by Western Consumer Protection.

As a result of some system error with my last order: my first check-out attempt resulted in a tripling of the price as they removed the discounts. After I complained they offered 10% discount on this, which of course was still unacceptable.

As the discounts were still available, I placed the order again. One item got inexplicably removed during the check-out.
So I ended up ordering 3 T-Shirts and a long-sleeved Hoodie, all in size 160.

On arrival (late) the hoodie turned out to be the smallest, approximately fitting a child with size 130-140, while one of the 3 T-shirts was the same small. While the other 2 T-shirts did fit: one was more like 150 and only one was 160.

They offered to return the mis-sized 130-140 items at my cost or 30% money back or sending me larger sized items, wanting me to pay for the new delivery.

Can be trusted 👍

Also, I haven't received my order, I am happy to recommend this company as I am positive it can be trusted.
I have ordered some Halloween stuff from them and the following day I have realized it won't arrive before the event. It was easy enough to get in touch with the customer service, they have responded quick, have canceled my order and my refund was processed.
I am sure I will be buying from them in the future

Shopping in the dark

After over 40 correspondences back and forth on my ticket to customer services, it still seems like they are not willing to rectify my concerns as a customer but are trying not to be at any disadvantage ('out of pocket')on my expense.
You spend most of your life working and rewarding your loved ones and yourself.
It cannot be hard to shop, should it?

AWFUL

I had to pay tax and duty when the order arrived 30 days after I ordered it. The product ( a tablet ) was poor quality and didn't hold charge. I would not use this site ever again. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Customs and handling duties!

I went online to purchase some goods for my son who likes anime for a surprise christmas present. Google displayed LightintheBox as the number one choice for my search.Being a basically untrusting sole I then selected from the search UK only as I have been bitten with bad overseas service before and this company remained as the top choice. So I ploughed on setting up an account and finding some reasonably priced items for my son. The whole order came to around £100 sterling. Then I checked out and began to pay. It asked if I wished customs protection insurance but as I beleived it was a UK based company I did not believe that I needed it. I payed the order including £13 postage and sat back pretty pleased with my initiative. That's where the good bit ended. I received my order in 2 seperate consignments both from China both with customs and handling charges totalling £41.89. So a word of warning to any would be thrifty shoppers. Google's choices don't always guarantee safety and companies that offer customs insurance are probably trying to grab your attention with low prices by missing out the pretty steep shipping/customs and handling charges. What appeared to be a solid buy on my part became quite expensive. I will not be using this company again! I guess if it looks too good to be true......
