In the beginning very easy and fast communication with the tax advisor. Then, I noticed he had not taken into account all documents I had sent him at first, and then he was going to incorporate them incorretly. Response times got longer and ended up being up to 2 weeks.
Customer service on the other hand was very responsive and helpful.
However, there should be some processes that ensure that advisors do the work correctly. Better to always double check yourself.

I'm still dissatisfied with the service. I have a nice advisor, but the process has been incredibly slow, which is problematic because everything else is delayed. Despite registering and submitting my invoice for review, I have yet to pay my taxes in Q1 which is delayed too. I initially removed my previous TripAdvisor review after their customer service reached out, but things remain sluggish even with a new representative. I will update my review once all my paperwork is sorted out and I start the process.
However, the overall service has been subpar and quite slow. One time I had to reach out because i wasn't sure where is my advisor at and why they are not responding for message few days which didn't include any holidays, I'm significantly behind on taxes. Previously, it was implied that I registered without NIE. It's important to note that it was my advisor who handled the registration, not me. I hope there won't be any new excuses on TripAdvisor again to deflect responsibility and say llike last "You registered without nie" I did call and chat with you beforehand to make a decisions to work with you.

They haved deleted my review supposed to be false. But i put it back! They dont know how to read your identity info they put your segond first name as a name...They give you wrong information.In my case they told me that i can have 400€ back after my declaration done... The AEAT service has contact me back that they dont have the same result and they will give me back 55,50€ is not some euros of differente ... Its more than various hundred euros of difference... Incompetent service !

What's good about TaxScouts:
- They have a fairly easy to use web app to create invoices, and record expenses.
- The accountants are able to fill out quarterly and annual tax forms.
Problems I've experienced with TaxScouts:
- They are not good at helping you save money. They only provided advice when I found out something myself and then asked them about it. The problem with this is that I'm not an expert on Spanish tax law. For example I discovered that if you're starting out as a freelancer in Spain you can actually get your first year of social security payments (around €1200) back if you apply within a deadline. But my 'advisor' never mentioned this and it seems like it's probably too late now.
- It's unclear what they provide outside of filling in tax returns. For example it says they will register you for EU VAT so you can work for EU clients, but I had to figure out how to do this myself.
- The advisors often don't answer questions. I have to follow up and ask them multiple times to get an answer to basic questions.
- The overal attitude of the advisors is often dismissive gives the impression that they don't have much experience helping freelancers. For example they seemed to think it was very strange that my wife (also a freelancer using TaxScouts) would not be able to say exactly how much work she would get booked for over the next month - which is a very common scenario for many freelancers.
- I recieved wrong advice that could have got me in trouble (they told me to charge VAT at the wrong rate).
Overall the service is useable, but does not live up to the messaging in their marketing.
If you decide to use it, be aware that you are essentially paying for form filling, not advice on how to optimize your freelance finances.

After registering with Tax Scouts in January, I booked and paid for a consultation and to have my self assessment accounts filed. A consultation date was provided for Saturday, 6th January. I then received an email to say they don't register joint accounts and my husband should register separately, which is fine. We decided to have the consultation then register him and provide the figures for both our self assessments. All good, yes?
No. The consultation didn't start. After half an hour I contacted the accountant and he came back to say he believed TaxScouts had tried to contact me - NO - to reschedule because he couldn't do a joint consultation. I replied then just do it with me but he wasn't even in the office to do that. Having bust a gut to get home for this consultation I was not at all happy.
He then said he wouldn't be working with me as he wasn't experienced in the area I needed to look at and he had asked I be reassigned, saying "I think support reached out a few times to try and contact you." - NO.
In the next email he said he would speak to support on Monday.
So what happened. NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING AT ALL.
So I registered for a HMRC self assessment webinar and have now filed my accounts myself.
The only good point is that when I asked for a refund it was provided quickly.

It's the second year I'm having issues with them! It's been 6 weeks since I provided all the necessary documents for you to prepare my tax return and I still haven't heard anything. I don't recommend their service at all

Responds always and very fast, you will get your own agent to help you, sending your documents to where they are needed.

I normally don't write the reviews but I wanted to give heads up to those that are considering working with TaxScout as my experience was really disappointing.
In April 2023 I applied with TaxScout, as a foreigner in Spain who doesn't speak the local language, to help me apply for the autonomo. First of all, when I was connected to my accountant Diego, I haven't received any information on the process, which documents to be filled and why, what would be my monthly expenses, deadlines to submit the documents etc. I received two Spanish documents without any explanation which I submitted late due to me being away (which I noted in advance). Accountant didn't answer my questions when I asked about detail on the documents to understand what is being submitted. I trusted him and send back the documents anyway.
He 'submitted' the documents and asked me to wait until I get answer from Tax office.
Four months later, I have no updates, my company is not open, accountant and customer service are avoiding my questions and when I ask them to send me any proof that documents are submitted they are unable to provide me with it. I asked for refund of my subscription and they have completely ignored me. By now they have taken away from me 5 months of subscription without arranging anything.
I hope this review helps when considering signing up with Tax Scout. I have never experienced something like this in my life, but I hope they will work on improving and training their staff.

I'm a new autónoma and hired TaxScouts to help me with my alta process in Hacienda and Seguridad Social. From the start my questions were not being answered properly, my accountant would literally copy answers from Google whenever I asked something and did not inform me correctly about IVA, I had to seek information on my own and "correct" him.
After three weeks of frustration I decided to hire another company to do my accounting and right away they noticed some things that were filled out wrong in my DUE, so they managed to change it. The surprise came in the end of the month when Seguridad Social charged 160 euros on my account instead of 80 euros that I thought they would charge (I even asked the TaxScouts accountant if I would only pay 80 euros and he confirmed it).
Now I am having to request Seguridad Social to change my cuota de autónomo because of an accountant mistake that could have easily been avoided. After I wrote a review about the accountant, apparently he left the platform and I was assigned to a new accountant - too late, since I had already canceled my subscription and looked for help somewhere else.
I hired TaxScouts because I thought it was a serious company that would help me with the whole autónomo process, but it just ended up being a waste of money, because I paid for a service that was not provided properly, and a lot of stress.
Do not recommend it at all.
EDIT: After my review, the TaxScouts team got in touch with me and refunded me for the extra amount I paid. Now, in the second month, same thing happened and they will issue a refund again, besides offering to help with the request to settle with Social Security. I appreciate the willingness to solve this.

I am an expat, I came to Spain and needed to be self employed so I used Taxscouts, I took the most expensive membership.. Which says "your accountant will help you save money"
-> big mistake
My Accountant didn't tell me how to get back restaurant expenses, so I added all tickets and at the end of the quarter he told me that I couldn't add those restaurant tickets as expenses because I should have ask the restaurants for a bill with my name, Nie and address. -> I asked and he never said so, it's only when it was too late that he told me.
Another issue is that, my accountant didn't tell me that I can add the Social Security as expenses. It is me that asked since I read it online, but it was too late because the quarter have passed.
So I am paying Taxscouts but at the end I only ended up paying more taxes since the accountant is not helping me at all. Should I know that I need to ask a bill with my name & address on it? Should I know that the social security can be added as expenses?
If yes, why do I pay Taxscouts then?
Also, they are not supporting USD $, only Euro. Another issue is that my accountant didn't look at the Currency of one of my expenses and added 25000€ instead of 25000Naira which was 50€. I had to tell him that the invoice was not in Euro (it was specified everywhere on the invoice).
I will stop my membership and go with another accounting agency which I will pay only for the month I need them to do the accounting for me (1 per quarter).
Really professional and quick service. Easy to use interface.
The tax advisor didn't response to my messages. The chat says it takes 24hours to respond, but I am already waiting more than a week. I want my money back!

Overall, it's decent value for money and takes a lot of stress out of your life.
I was very happy at the beginning and my advisor was very quick to get back to me. Then before submitting my declaration they took a few days (more than the 48 hours it says) to get back to me. They apologised which meant it was rushed at the end. I didn't fully understand everything I had to do as I'm not from Spain and I should have mentioned that at the beginning. Overall, I would recommend this service but if your declaration is more complicated perhaps not as you cannot call if you have a doubt, this is an extra cost.
I needed help with my tax return documents. I didn't expect to find any help during the weekend and was ready to wait until Monday but surprisingly enough I was matched with Borja Torea, who answered all of my questions in a very efficient manner and did an outstanding job at explaining complex issues in a very comprehensible way. I'm really happy about the outcome and will certainly hire TaxScouts again next year!
